Post anything you wish to be doing during this time, other than sleeping. I'll be posting the next scene, heading to the Haunted House, when I get up in the morning tomorrow. I'll add in anything I need to from anything posted between now and then.)
"Anyone play Dragon Chess?" Belle will ask as the meeting breaks up. She will play a round with someone if anyone is up for it, otherwise she will chat with anyone who is willing to do so. After an hour or so though she will turn in, saying she needs to get her sleep and look over her spells if she is going to be helpful the next day.
Orgen thinks on the man's words, touching his quill to his face. The thing about rats and vampires didn't add up in his mind. While he does think the information is good, he tries to think of a creature with a better association with rats from his day roaming around the continent.
Nature 22
Hearing the request for dragon chess he grins and says, "Alright Lass I'll play a game. I've played a few rounds in my past, but I may be a bit rusty. As he plays the game he thinks about what the creature may be while also focusing on the game.

After the meeting was over, Alek took a look into the kitchen and asked the cook nicely if there by chance was anything to eat for him. Then he would retire to his chambers and spent some time staring out the window into the nightly sky. The sorcerer thought about tomorrow and the dangers they would have to face. Vampire or not, they needed to fulfill the contract if they hoped to get more assignments. Although he found it hard to relax at the prospect of the possible encounter tomorrow, sleep soon found him and he rested in a deep and dreamless slumber.

Belle is beaming with happiness as you accept her offer to play and you and her have a great chat as you play. She tells you all about her family and growing up in Neverwinter. She sees teh town in a totally different light than most people, always optimistic and seeing the best in everyone.
16 for her chess check. She wins eventually, mostly due to your distraction over possible reasons a rabbit would be dealing with rats and such.
For your nature check, you think it could very likely be just about anything from a rabbit to a flying monkey.
When the group gathers in the conference room you find a platter of pre-made meat pies, with bread and cheese laid out, all packed up to eat as you travel. A note from Marvin says 'Good Luck.'
"He's so sweet." Belle says as she grabs a meat pie, bread, and cheese. She has on a traveling cloak, tunic and has a component pouch belted at her hip. She has a crossbow and brace of bolts at the other, which looks out of place on such an innocent-looking girl as her.
The road to the house winds through the rocky coastal terrain, often offering a view of the sea below. Low clouds press upon you; occasional patches of sunlight appear out over the water. A stiff wind blows in off the waves, carrying the briny stink of churning salt water.
The house is located four miles up the coast from Saltmarsh and is accessible by an old road. Curious townsfolk follow the party for part of their journey. These escorts engage the characters in conversation and ask about their intentions. As soon as the house comes into view, the townsfolk grow grim-faced and retreat toward Saltmarsh.
The decrepit house sits on the highest ground in the area. Around it, a stone wall has crumbled in many places, exposing the interior grounds. An ornate metal gate lies open at the end of the road, swaying slightly in the wind. Wild flora grows throughout the inner yard, but all the years cannot hide the evidence of a well-tended garden that once sat here. Near the house, the rotted wooden roof of a water well rises out of the tall grass.
The house is 35 feet tall from ground level to roof peak; the roof is gabled and has several holes where the slate shingles are missing.
There is a clear front door to the house, but you heard, from the hunter, that there is also a back door. Let me know what you plan to do next.

As the group nears the Haunted House, Belle will bring her familiar, a Tressym out of it's extra dimentional space. "Beauty, please take a look around..." She tells the flying cat, who purrs loudly, then flies up to get an overhead look at the place.
Perception for Beauty: 24
Beauty notices that there appear to be some large animals living in the overgrown garden behind the house.
"Looks like something is living in the garden area..." Belle informs the group as she listens to Beauty speaking in her head.

TO BELLE: "Oh, there is being beasties outside as well as insides the house of hauntings? Dezlo is not minding a fight but if they is not being hostile then it may be best to be ignoring them." The kobold rolled up onto the tips of her feet in her saddle stirrups, prying her long neck to get a better view herself of the house and garden. Ruff perked his ears beneath her, large head turning as he also tried to take in more of the area.
"Dezlo is willing to be going to have a look-see at what sort of beasties they is; can't be imagining they is going to be very dangerous if they is living in a garden." She easily presses into her mount's sides with her knees in a practiced motion, willing the large dog to wander into the overgrown inner yard at a sedate pace. Ears prick, on alert for any sign of something moving nearby, a clawed hand going to her side to preemptively draw her rapier to the ready.
---------- Going to roll with dis. in case the clouds aren't enough to negate Sunlight Sensitivity. If they do negate it should also list the higher discarded roll, and I'll edit to make it clearer! Perception:3
(That's a 17 if clouds provide enough cover, 11 if they don't!)

There it was, standing right in fornt of them atop a little hill. It definitely looked like a haunted house in its derelict state. The newcomer Belle and her pet already proved to be quite useful as they gave the group a good sense of what to expect in the vicinity of the manor. "If you want to volunteer Dezlo, be my guest. But I think the rest of us shouldn't stay to far behind you, so we can give support if you run into trouble."After Alek spoke he also took a good look of their surroundings and examined if there were any visible dangers on their way towards the house. Perception2
Dezlo heads around the side towards the back, since that's where the trapper at the bar mentioned he'd been able to enter the house from and she figures its easier to enter through a way that's proven to work than try to force her way in some other way. Why do things the hard way if you don't have to after all?

Is she going by herself or waiting for the others?
As soon as Alek noticed that the Paladin was already dangerously close to the building, he began to follow her towards the compound, taking almost the same route as her. The sorcerer tried to keep a little distanced and waved to the others to follow him.
"Hmmm so whatever is in the house doesn't leave the grounds... or doesn't leave any tracks, " says Orgen with a sigh. Noticing his companions heading towards the back of the building Orgen pulls out his Warhammer holding up his shield as he follows them stepping in front to take the lead.
Dezlo heads that way without the rest of the team, but isn't opposed to letting them follow her.
The lizard and her dog turn the corner of the house, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. She doesn't think there will be much in terms of danger this way (how dangerous can the garden of an old fisherman's cottage be after all?), but she's still going to be cautious in turning the bend. The old man at the tavern might have been telling tales about a vampire being in residence, but something was obviously up here scaring people. Dezlo will stand up in her stirrups as she turns the corner, trying to get the best view possible of the back garden.
"Come along with Dezlo if you is wanting to be; just wanting to see what is back here before we is looking for more trouble inside."
---------- Perception:3
(Oof. Dezlo is catching Lupin's dice luck it seems, lol. That's a 6 if clouds provide enough cover, 3 if they don't!)
The overgrown remains of a vegetable garden is clearly seen to be around the house. Now, a few broken gardening tools and a tangle of weeds are all that remain. A single rosebush near the gate has overgrown the wall and choked out most of the other plants.
The group needs to go between the rosebush and the house to get to the back door.

How far is Dezlo going into the yard? Around to the back (garden) area, or just to the front?
