In the crowd of the town meeting, you see a bright red skinned tiefling. She has shoulder length black hair and long curled horns with words written on them in primordial. (If any of you understand that, it seems to be some ancient poem.) She wears the distinct robes of the candlekeep library, and sits in the grass a little ways off from the crowd studying a book. If you look closely, you realize she is actually casting augury to determine if it is a good idea to stay at this meaning. (DM, this is a low level future sight spell, so if you could give me the result for that, that'd be great.) Sitting on her shoulder is a small barn owl surveying the crowd with its empty eyes. The tiefling is Silence, and her owl is named Lamentation.
You get no response from your augury attempt. A result of 'nothing'.
The town meeting does not last long, as it seemed more of a place for Reginald to give his announcements than a forum for actual discussion of anything. Bella is unable to detect anything odd about those who came to the meeting. Eventually the townsfolk, grumbling a bit, head back to their homes and work. The group of you are left together with Kass. "Well, any thing else you guys plan on doing in town, or will you head back to Leilon now?" kass asks. "The wagons you purchased are in the back lot behind the General Store, and the horses have been picketed there as well." She smiles as she brushes some bronze-colored hair behind an ear. "After this trip travel will be a lot easier, as you can simply step through a door to get between Leilon and here."
Silence stands up from her spot and walks over to the group. "Hello, everyone. My name is Silence. Hearing your situation and seeing the town's responses, I think I might be able to help you. I am a powerful mage, with diverse abilities. One of my specialties is foresight and communication. I can instantly communicate with one of the great readers of candlekeep, my old workplace. I can also handle myself in a fight. I think I could help you all greatly."

I will protect those I hate. Even ... even if the one I hate most ... is ... myself.
Seruk nods his acceptance of the newcomers, “I think we should drop the supplies off as quickly as possible then return to investigate. Does anyone have a different plan? We can also warn the other town.”
Kass looks to Bella. "I don't believe we have any on hand at the moment, but I can put in a request to Head Office. It will likely be here in a day or so. Will that work for you?"
Kass then nods to Seruk. "Seems like a good plan to me."
Kass looks to Bella. "I don't believe we have any on hand at the moment, but I can put in a request to Head Office. It will likely be here in a day or so. Will that work for you?"
"Kass can you put in a request to get some mercenary to cover this town while we travel to the Leilon and back? I would feel a lot better and I am sure the townsfolk would feel safer if they were here. I would also feel safer about hiring from HQ instead of local as you never know who they might be. Then I suggest we either return to the Leilon as quickly as we can without the holy water or we wait here to investigate some while waiting for the holy water to arrive, and then we head back. Now that I am voicing it, waiting for the holy water might be the best idea, then we can further investigate the disturbances and placate the town of their fears for a bit." Reginald says.
Seruk shrugs, "We can always do both. With the door portal set up, we can head back to Leilon with the wagon while the silver comes in, then use the portal to come back and make the holy water back through to deliver it and back here again to start the investigation."
“That’s a good idea, both good ideas,” says the fancy Satyr. “Company folks to come in, business to continue, and interests to protect. Why, I’m with a company myself, you know. I help with Decisioning there, making choices just like this. Well, helping the agents to come to their choice anyway. You know, decisioning is an old, old art form rooted in a history of… surgery. Yes. Surgery I believe it was. Was it? Anyway, where was I? Decision something… oh! Right.”
”Split the party! Do both of these jobs. Some stay here, some get back to the office. I’ll be happy to go with either group to assist. I was asked to come assist someone in the Company with business out here, but I’m sure it can wait. Bhardrus, at your service.” The satyr doesn’t get up after his ramble, instead stomping his fashion cane into the ground for emphasis now and then.
Need a decision of what you guys are going to do... Reginald is saying for all to stay and look into this situation until Kass can get some guards hired for the town. Seruk is suggesting going to Leilon, which is only 1/2 day of travel away, then coming back through the franchise magic door. Bhardrus is suggesting to split the group, some taking the wagons back while others stay to look into what is going on here. Maybe time for a company vote...
Bhardus just so happens to be equipped for such a thing, and quickly presents his voting kit: complete with ballots and a box.
“This box possesses the power to enforce Company demands with an illusion of free will… by giving your free will agency! Some of the time!” Bhardus begins tapping and rattling the box.

Reginald thinks for a moment, “Right, I forgot it is only half a days travel to our destination. I agree with Seruk, let’s travel to Leilon now and then we can port back. That is probably our best bet to get things done as quickly as possible. With regranted to splitting the party, that is never a good option.”
Bella snorts at the idea of voting, her disdain at the whole idea obvious. "Tell you what. I'll head off to that shack and check out what be happenin'. Maybe the townies'll be happy to know what be what."
She stands and pauses for a moment, to see if anyone objects.
Bella smiles, "Sure, but I'm in charge on this mission. I'm not wantin' your clumsy feet scarin' away the game." She turns and heads out, making her way to the shack she'd learned about earlier.
Seruk holds up a hand as they try and leave, "Wait, we are all part of the Company, let us take the vote and make a consensus decision, not go off on our own. We must learn to work together. So let me see one of those ballots and I'll place my vote."
"I couldn't care less about anonymity. I vote we split up. Y'all can go to Leilon, we can go to the shack." Silence then takes a paper, writes this down, and signs the paper before putting it in the box.
ooc: DM, could you tell me the results from Silence's augury spell?
also ooc: LorrdWolf, Silence got her familiar because she has find familiar in her ritual book she got from the book of ancient secrets
I will protect those I hate. Even ... even if the one I hate most ... is ... myself.
ooc: That's a thing? That's awesome.
