"I am completely unharmed, it does seem there might be a few special items in there worth looking into but seeing as we are not in a state of desperation and the enemies do not seem excessively deadly we could press on...but if others desire I would need about 30 minutes to identify the three items," Barinthus says helping the others gather up the various coins and gems released from the Cubes.
“A short rest it is. Sounds good to us, isn’t that right Shieldbiter? We want to do this in the passageway or do we want to fall back to that room where we will be a little less out in the open?”
“A short rest it is. Sounds good to us, isn’t that right Shieldbiter? We want to do this in the passageway or do we want to fall back to that room where we will be a little less out in the open?”
(OOC: Shieldbiter does not answer, as he is thousands of miles away and doesn't even know who you are... maybe have your secretarian contact his secretarian and you can have a conversation...)
Shadowlight gives a growl and goes to one of the skeletons. He picks a bone up in his mouth and walks a few more steps. “I’ll keep an ear out here, Rurik.” And he flops down into the middle of the path and begins to gnaw on the bone.
Ok, if you are taking a rest you can easily identify the three magic items. Cap of water breathing, the potion, and the elemental gem. Anyone who needs can spend HD to heal as well. Let me know what you are doing during the short rest, I assume casting identify if you want to identify all three items that way. Otherwise three of you can identify one of the items without casting the spell, but three seperate people need to do the work then. Let me know anything else that you are doing, and so forth. i will move the game along once you are done with anything here.
Assuming I cannot cast augury on a gelatinous cube, Secundus will do a variant of tai chi to attempt to keep his incredibly stiff 108 year old body. Mache, not needing to sleep at this point, will go ahead to scout while invisible until he runs into something interesting. He will also periodically write "Secundus, it is time to die" in Demonic in various places around the walls.
After identifying the three items of note and turning them over Barinthus speaks up asking, "do we divide the coinage among us or shall we turn over the entirety to the company for later division as they see fit. I wasn't briefed on the proper manner to handle such matters for this company. In my last organization beyond items specifically paid for retrieval we divided any combat gains among those who participated in the combat."
"While it is up to the hordesperson as to how the loot should be divided, I would suggest that all coin and valuble items be given to the hordesperson for keeping. They can log all the treasures collected and once the mission is over we can each get our cut from the guild. I would say that if there are any items we come across that could be useful in completing our mission.. that they be given to whoever might put them to best use.. and once we have accomplished our goal... the hordesperson can choose if they are to be added to the loot for the guild... or not." Walt would say with a wink. "but I support however the hordesperson decides, it isn't my responsibility. I got enough to worry about."
Donkee says "Divide the cash now and the extra will go into a pot for the franchise. It's an easy load to carry if we all share in the weight. Besides, it someone were to get swallowed by a monstrous grung, the whole pot O' loot wont all go into its belly too...this little gnome would love the strength of a hill giant juice box (aka potion) if nobody objects"
Donkee will share some rations with Grunt. World famous adventuring helps build a good appetite.
After your short rest, the group decides to continue onward. You pass beyond the area you fought the two cubes, and head on, the candles soon being left behind.
Whomever is leading the way as scout, please give me a perception check.
“Secundus how is Mache faring? Is he with us again or is he still out in the lead?” Rurik asks as he starts walking over to Shadowlight. “I am ready to move out though.”
Walt would have placed his hand on his shoulder and cast guidance. "Watch yourself... I'll be not far behind" the old sentinel would say as he watched him head off to scout ahead.
(OOC; So walt has amazing perception but is not sneaky... so while he isn't exactly a great scout, he is very good at spotting threats so if you ever need help, feel free to ask walt. Also add 1d4 to that 7 :P)
( donkee isnt very sneaky and his perception sucks...mechanical rabbit ear helmets are good for fun, but not very stealthy...plus he tends to jabber a bit)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Barinthus takes up a rear guard while trusting the others to alert them to dangers in the front he keeps an eye out behind them to make sure nothing is pursuing them.
As Ellya and Stop Thief scout the path forward, they come up to a connection in the hall. To the left is a more natural-looking tunnel, while the more worked hall you have been following continues on ahead.

"Good call Barinthus, let's get them identified while we take a short rest." Walt would add with a nod to Barinthus..
