This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Maximus after updating this map looks longingly at the water and then moves over to the bank and kneels down and sticks his head under the water to see what he can see.
Yep that be water there. It be wet and... yep wet.
Rurik
The river is a river indeeed. It is likely 40+ feet across, and is moving fairly swiftly. There are no bridges or blocks that you can see anywhere to aid in crossing it.
Maximus
Maximus, as you stick your head in you feel the refreshing flow of water. The water is dark, and hard to see through, but seems fresh and unpolluted. You do see small fish swimming in the water.
Trin will fetch a rope from his pack, bidding Stigr's aid in watching for any threats as he rummaged around his surprisingly disorganized belongings - a stark contrast to the fastidious nature he displays in his recordkeeping endeavors. With rope inha d, he summons an unseen servant. Trin ties the rope to the handle of his oil lamp, which he then lights and passes to the arcane force. Trin retains the other end and instructs the servant: "carry this across the river."
(If it makes it across but is extinguished, the servant should be able to reignite it.)
Turning to Rurik, trin asks, "can he help hold the rope?" indicating Shadowlight as he holds out the loose end
(This is mostly flavor, but also help action for a possible Str check)
@DM: how wide is this river? Servant moves 15ft per round, but Trin can Misty Step across the water if it's 30ft or less.
Edit: FYI, that's a ritual, so we're looking at like 10 minutes plus
Just being cautious. Maybe we'll be able to hold the rope to help cross of the water is fast. If we can get it to move down the hallway with the lamp, something hiding in there might attack it. We'd have the upper hand if we knew it was there, maybe we could even draw it out.
Stigr looks nervously at the water as the other start looking for ways across, "Umm... are we sure there isn't a bridge somewhere further along? I can't swim."
The river, as stated previously, is 40, or more, feet across. Misty step won't get you all the way across it. As your unseen servant is able to move across the river, I have no trouble with it taking one end of your rope and doing so. It can also carry the lamp no problem. it will not be able to get too far down the passage though, as its limit is 60 feet from you. Trin takes several minutes to cast a ritual spell. When done he seems to hand the end of a rope to an invisible person, also handing over a lamp. The end of the rope, and the lamp, then start moving across over the rushing water. It reaches the far side without issue, and then glides down the hall a bit.

Are you doing anything with your imp at this point in time?
"If we can find something to tie this end to, we can try climbing across. I can grant anyone the ability to fly for a short while, but I try not to squander Mystra's gifts if mundane means can accomplish the same goal. Does anyone have any pistons or a hammer?"
(If we have them and can get these across the river, the servant can probably just hammer them into the opposite wall.)
“If we’re takin bout walkin through that, I may have some issues. How deep is that? Looks pretty deep. May be over my head on this one guys,” Rurik comments to the party.
"Question, do we need to cross the river? Well eventually we might have to, but we could decided to travel alongside the river going either north or south? That way we don't have to worry about anyone being swept away." Maximus suggests pointing to the other directions off this tunnel.
Stigr nods hurriedly at Maximus, "I agree, I think we should stay out of the water for as long as possible. We still need to explore this side and can go over there after we're done over here. Here, I'll send my imp ahead south to see what's ahead."
Rurik nods in agreement. I’d like to see what else is here before crossing. Shame your ghost couldn’t take the door knob over and create a new access for us. That’d be way easier.”
"You could probably just throw it over there if you wanted to." Yrin replies to Rurik. "My servant can certainly pick up and turn a know, and I have no doubt you csn throw the object across this span."
Stigr frowns for a moment, "If we throw it over there and the ghost opens it, how do we get inside to cross? We'd have to be outside of the office with the door closed for someone to throw it over. I suppose most of us could go inside, then one person fly or swim it over and open from that side. But let's just finish exploring this side first?"
(The unseen servant could not use the knob. Only a member of the franchise can do that, and only the one attuned to it for that matter.)
Caves
Starting South you travel some distance then realize it must be getting close to nightfall. Finding a spot along the bank of the river, with a small cave for shelter, you settle in for the night. Please give me a watch order and perception rolls for those keeping watch. Also let me know if you are using a tiny hut
Sure, why not? Its another ritual spell. Trins elf trance is o ly 4 hours. He can take alot of watch. Ideally, he'd like to rest up first, so if our reat is I terrified halfway theough, "at least there's a well-rested wizard about", he reasons.

It has been doing that lately. I've taken to quoting and not editing of late.

“Sure can, but what’s ya plan?”

Are we being overly cautious?

“While I appreciate the compliment, do we really wana take the chance on tossing it?”
(OOC out of ignorance, can he actually activate our headquarters and create a new access point? I thought it took one of the party and a short rest?)

Stigr nods, "My imp and I can take first watch."
