Donkee realizes that the skeleton had looked as if it were pointing to one of the carvings for some reason. as if it were trying to draw attention to that specific carving for some reason. Maybe even as if it were placed there specificly for that reason.
With all of the pillars in the area there would be hardly no chance to get a shot at one of the bugbears. You realize that the only real option, if you wish to attack them, is to rush straight down and try to get to them before they escape. They are about 30 feet away from you when you spotted them, so it is not an impossible act, just something you need to decide to do or not. If we go that route, then we will use the initiative scores some of you already rolled and get more of the same from the rest of you. Let me know...
After his re-look at the headless kenku skeleton, Donkee realizes the skeleton is actually pointing at a carving. He says, " hey, the skeleton is pointing at that carving, we should just let the buggle bears go for now and search that carving to see what the poor old bird boy was/is trying to tell us. Have Mache keep an eye on the stairs in case the harry suckers try an come this way. "
He points at " Vaden and says " hey Vaden, see if you notice any traps or button or what not on this carving and we will back you up by checking ourselves in case your eyes suck."

Vaden looks between Donkee, the stairs where the Bugbears were spotted, the carving indicated, and then back towards the way they came in from. He is clearly unhappy about his life just now.
"How about I cast Guideance on one of you instead..." He suggests, glancing nervously at the carving in question. He clearly has no desire to get closer to it than he is.
"Cast your spell on me then." Taman says with a shrug, moving over to the carving again. Once Vaden has done so, Taman begins to look over the carving...
Investigation: 24
Not sure that worked, since 11 is very bad for a +7 with a guideance, with advantage... Going to roll it out in seperate pieces instead:
two investigation checks:
8
14
Guideance:
4
Anyone else who wishes to do an investigation or perception check can do so, with advantage again. The dwarf can do a stone mason tool check again as well, with advantage also. Vaden will gladly cast [Tooltip Not Found] on anyone who wishes it.

Without Mache to help him,, as he is still scouting, Secundus hopes that he can avoid looking at the runes, as he never actually bothered to learn much about them. However, when Vaden moved towards him with the silly light spell, he lost his invisibility and now at least needs to do provide the illusion of effort. Secundus starts looking, hoping his keen eye for detail overcomes his lack of direct arcane knowledge.
Both Donkee and Secundus are able to barely find the catch for a secret panel in the carving. With a bit of poking and prodding you two believe that you can open it.
"Hmm..." Taman says as they point it out to him. "A bit surprised I did not notice that before..."
We are at the point where you guys need to decide what you are doing. Do you go through the door you guys just found or do you continue onward into the Pillar Forest...
" yes, the secret door is almost always better, maybe we can surprise the surprisers. Let's open the door and see what dead Kenku boy was pointing too"
The secret door opens to reveal an empty 10-foot-square cubicle with a 5-foot-wide tunnel of rough-hewn stone leading away from it. The tunnel descends slightly until it reaches a room that smells like a sewer. The room contains the following features:
Flood. The floor of the room tilts — its west end is 6 feet lower than its east end. Foul sewer water covers the floor, barely reaching the east wall but deepening by 1 foot for every 10 feet of travel westward.
Statue. A wide alcove in the north wall contains a life-size statue of a sahuagin, submerged up to its chest in sewer water. The statue emits a dim purple radiance, its head is completely turned around, and one of its arms has broken off and is nowhere to be seen.
Vaden gags as you come into the slanted area, moving back out to the empty cubical room as he holds his sleeve over his nose.
"That is rather unpleasant..." Taman will say, glancing around the area and paying attention to the statue. He covers his nose with his own sleeve, but, finding it not to help at all, gives it up.

" what a wonderful smell we've discovered...a purple glowy statue has to have some significance, eh? Even if it is of a weird looking fish dude with no arm..."
Perception:13
Let's see if any not so obvious details pop out at me. Like where the water is coming from, is there any strange ripples in the water indicating a fish guy or something is in it
You get the idea that the water is leaking in through cracks in the ceiling, trickling down the walls, then entering the pool. You guess there must be other small cracks in the ground to let it then trickle out, otherwise the room would be overflowing. You do not see any ripples in the water that would indicate any fish swimming in it.

Rurik walks into the first chamber. "Intriguing. Not much to go on. What do you guys have over there?" Rurik asks as he walks towards the tunnel. "Well this smell is as foul as that statue. Hey Secundus, how does Mache feel about swimming?"

Rurik walks up towards the stone for a better look. "Well guys, this stone...." his voice trails off as he contemplates it.

"I second, Secundus. Ha. Let's try this out. We can always come back for Donkee to greet the Bugbears later."
In Rurik's voice "Donkee" then in Secundus' "Hidden things are often valuable."
S.T. then starts to head off with the familiar.
