Sihnion shakes his staff in rage and frustration, trying once more to incinerate the beast.

(It was the next round yes. (I just realized I probably never properly explained it, but the names in bold on the list are who are up.))

As Thasla and Tamoda dig into the beast, a ball of fire sails over them, breaking through the steam and hitting the Apex in the face!

The Apex balks and drops Xandar from the fire, and looks around to see no other way out. 

The Apex rushes the group.

 The Apex bites out at Tamoda, but is unable to grip him in a grapple due to her sore burns, then takes a swipe at Grim with her claws, which Grim cleanly dodges. The beast slavers and bleeds, her legs wobbling. (1 good hit guys.)

Thasla sweeps her sword upward toward the beast’s head.

Attack: 21 Damage: 9

Sihnion, encouraged by his previous success, sends another flame towards the faltering lizard. 

Produce Flame: 8 Damage: 6

”Look who’s frying tonight”, he exclaims jubilantly. 

And Tamoda follows up with a one handed tap across the snout of the beast.

Attack: 14 Damage: 9

I think it's dead, Sin.

Sihnion pokes the fetid, steaming corpse with the end of his staff. “Looks terminal”, he agrees. Levering the dead beast’s jaws open, he tries to get sight of Ahkota in order to cast healing word, restoring 6hp. 

Thasla will help pull Ahkota out of the beast’s stomach.

 Indeed, the Apex falls dead from Thasla's strike, it's eyes growing cloudy and dull within seconds. Ahkota is pulled from the Apex's stomach, badly burned but still alive, and is restored thanks to Sihnion's magic. Combat has ended.

The heat of battle over, and the steam from the Apex starting to diminish, you get a chance to get a better look at the cave. (Roll perception please.)

The aasimar sheathes her weapon for the time being, glancing around the cavern.

The cavern's walls seem to have an atypical coloration despite the type of rock it is... then you notice that some of the rock isn't rock at all, but hardened clay and mud, packed down tightly against the corners and lower patches of the cave.

Grim draws his fingers across the ground. “... clay?”
