You don't see many people out. You catch the general store getting locked, the owner talking to a woman, and a few people heading to the inn. The other shops are closed, and light flickers inside a few houses. You don't recognize anyone from yesterday, except Lennan who you meet twice. The second time he eyes you suspiciously, but he doesn't say anything.
After casting Detect Magic (it has a 30 ft radius, so I'm assuming you're walking around after casting it), you sense sources of magic inside the Stonehill Inn, the Shrine of Luck and one of the houses. Upon closer inspection, the Shrine of Luck seems to be emanating some sort of Enchantment magic. For the other two sources, you would have to see the actual objects/creatures to learn the class of magic that affects them.
"Stout on the rocks then please" Liliana says smiling and handing over the silver. Once she has the drink in hand she walks over to the table with her companions. "So whats your stories then? What made you wake up this morning and say hey I want to go take out a dragon". Sipping on the drink, relishing the burn of the alcohol "And did anyone else notice that strange conversation between the midwife and Lennan - wonder what that was about?"
As the evening goes, the tiefling's music becomes more sophisticated as he blends his voice and the lute masterfully. Even Gramm is captured and you hear him cheer and make flattering comments, even a "Are you as skilled with all your instruments?", the performer only replying with a smile. When the tiefling calls for donations during a short break, he throws in 2 gold pieces and you see other patrons contributing too.
Your glasses empty, do you get more drinks or retire for the night?
Sindrall yawns and looks down at Jet who has decided to curl up into a ball in his pack and fall asleep, both heads snoring gently. Deciding that there is still a lot of work to do and thinking he will need to put some ointment on the bruise in his chest he retires for the night.
After walking around the town a little, Thilael headed towards the inn half because he wanted to satisfy his hunger, but he was also curious to find the source of the magic that he felt emanating from the building.
He went directly to the bar and raised his voice over the crowd: Can you get me a soup or a broth, whatever you have ready and hot right now? I'm sitting with my adventure buddies over there, he said motioning towards the table where the rest were sitting.
Going to the table he greeted everybody I see everybody's enjoying the night. He motioned everybody close: If you don't mind, I'll perform a little ritual as I felt some magical energy coming from the inn, so don't mind me for about 10 minutes. When the bartender brings my food, please pay for me. As he finished he threw a few coins on the table.
Sora orders the sandwich, quietly contemplating what the meat is in the "meat sauce", and then deciding against thinking about it any further. She also orders a large fire wine to wash it down.
Turning to Liliana, who seems much happier after a few sips of her drink, she explains
I was just passing through on my way to Everlund. I've been hunting down a group of Zarus revolutionaries who have recently started to spread hatred and dissent among the peaceful people of this region.
As I was passing I heard talk of a dragon and couldn't stand the idea of leaving the area at risk. Besides, there are Golden Snowdrops in the hills which would come in handy for cleansing rituals.
How about you, fellow half elf?
Sora nods in agreement to Thilael as he approaches and then scurries off again.
Sindrall: You take a key from Toblen and go upstairs to your room. There's a single bed, a small table by the window and an empty chest at the foot of the bed. There's a pot filled with dirt in one of the corners, the plant long dead, and a round mirror on the wall opposite the bed.
Thilael: As you get busy with the ritual, several curious faces turn to watch and you might notice a flicker of annoyance on the tiefling's face. When the ritual is finished you feel a flash of dizziness as you adjust to the new sense, and a magic aura immediately registers. It seems to come from upstairs. A pot of stew stands on the table in front of you.
Food and drink: Sora spends 2 silver, Thilael spends 1 silver
Laughing Liliana replies "I'm afraid I'm not as noble as you. I came to this town after following Sindrall - I was bored and thought it might be fun to try and steal some of his gold. As for the the dragon the stories I heard when I was younger implied that dragons keep a vast hoard of treasure." Going glassy eyed Liliana leans back in her chair and continues to drink "Just image it, and I want to steal it"
Sighing and returning to a normal sitting position "I don't think very far ahead. I run headfirst into danger and hope the gods feel like being kind - and today I would be dead without you all there. Not the way I want to go out - as a chew toy for a manticore".
Draining the last of her stoat she grinned at her companion. "Another round? You must have some outrageous stories from your training to become a palidan"
Sindrall inspects the room and nods with satisfaction. He strips off his armor and applies some ointment to his bruised chest. Jet seems to have awaken a little from there slumber as if something had peaked its curiosity. Sindrall cracks open the window so Jet can leave to do whatever two headed cats do when they want to.
He offers up a prayer to Helm in thanks of today's experience and settles in to sleep, his dreams turning towards dragons, darkness and the mystery that entwines them all.
Half participating in the conversation, Thilael eats the stew in just a few moments, excuses himself and heads for the stairs to find the source of the magic. He arrives in front of the door There is definitely something inside here...
He listens for a few seconds and then tries to open the door softly...

Thilael's stealth check: 13
As you try to open the door, you find it unlocked, but as soon as it starts swinging it does so with an internal squeak. You find inside a surprised Sindrall and the cat resting on the window sill.
Thilael:
The cat is what attracted you here. Now that you see it, you can clearly discern the aura of transmutation, but something is not right. It seems to fluctuate chaotically and it clings thickly onto the cat. Not something you've experienced before, but it gives you an uneasy feeling.
As soon as he entered the room, Thilael looked directly at the cat not even noticing Sindral's staring.
Oh, apologies there, Sindral. I just had this uneasy feeling since we came back from our short trip. It appears that the cat is under some kind of transmutation magic, but I'm not sure what it is exactly. Now talking as though to himself, I wonder what happened to its owner...
Anyway, I'll leave you now and apologies again for the intrusion. My curiosity shadows my manners some times. See you downstairs in the morning!
Thilael then headed towards his room, lost in thought.
Half dreaming and half awake Sindrall is aware of someone at the door, he reaches for his warhammer which is beside the bed and focuses on the door staring intently
Sindrall is surprised to see Thilael wandering into his room, Thilael starts talking about Jet and some sort of magic the cat is under, Thilael makes his apologies and leaves the room.
Sindrall too tired to think about what has just transpired gets out of bed a locks the door behind Thilael, he then pets Jet and mutters "Wizards being scared of cats whatever next" and heads back to bed to try and get some sleep
As the night progresses, the music dies down. The bard sits down with two other man at a table and Gramm makes his way over to drink with them. Liliana and Sora continue their discussion for a while, then head to their rooms. After a night's sleep, the morning finds Gorarel at his home and the rest of you at the inn, filing downstairs as you wake up. Toblen is there wiping tables and chairs, giving you 'good mornings'.

Liliana sits beside Gorarel with a glass of water she is sipping slowly and groaning in pain whenever someone walk into the inn - causing the bright morning light to shine in her eyes.
Thilael, sitting at the bar, responded with a smile as Sindrall made his appearance downstairs. His gaze quickly shifted towards the double-headed cat which he eyed with suspicion. He then continued eating the same kind of stew he ordered the previous night.

Sipping on the drink, you notice there's no ice and the drink is not cold, either. The stout is dark and slightly smokey and earthy.
As the evening goes, the tiefling's music becomes more sophisticated as he blends his voice and the lute masterfully.
