(Going to post my actions now to avoid holding others up later as I'm going to bed)
Grum will draw his second shortsword and charge the goblin at the bottom of the stairs, hoping to clear the stairs for the rest of the party. His first sword sweeping towards the goblin's upper chest and throat as he draws his off hand weapon.
Attack: 18 Damage: 6
Then the second sword cleaving down in an overhead arc at the goblin's neck and shoulder.
(Im assuming you mean the top -- At the very top of the stairs is Yeemik and Brandor with Sildar unconcious on the side, on the stair themselves is one goblin and theres another one with a bow drawn on the eastern side of the cave)
(Oh, I thought Glink was at the bottom of the stairs blocking them. I was intending on attacking him, to try and stop him getting a reaction against any others moving past up to the top.)
"Should've bargained with us when ye had the chance gobby." Brandor gives slight smile as he sets his brow and takes the initiative to strike again at his counterpart. Gives a swift jab of his staff and continues his movement forward in an attempt to place his forehead square into the goblin's nose.
(Glink. Just trying to get him out of the way so others can get to Yeemik easier - it was clear that he was in the way, I just lost track of where exactly he was but it's all the same really.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
<Start of combat>
Initiative:
Grum
Brandor
Squelch
Bartholemew
Callie
Goblins
(Brandor is at the top floor of this cavern and the rest of you are on the stairs, in order from top of the stairs to bottom of the stairs: One enemy goblin, Grum, Callie, Squelch, Bartholemew. The last goblin has repositioned behind the crates with it's bow drawn.)
After Brandor charges in, engaging Yeemik, Grum begins to assault the one on the stairs and slashes down with both his blades. It blocks one, but the second one craves right into its gut through the armour and he staggers back for a bit, looking like he's nearly going to fall but instead catches himself and readies his blade again.
Brandor, quick on his feet is already ready for another round of attacks as he comes in with his staff and forehead. You successfully jab him with the staff, but he uses that momentum to dodge backwards and your face doesn't connect to land a blow.
Squelch, crossbow ready, takes quick aim at the last goblin near the crates and fires a bolt into it's shoulder, causing it to yell in pain and nearly fall to the ground, but it nocks an arrow and positions itself against the crates again.
Bartholemew sends out a bolt of wicked, fluctuating energy and impacts the one that Grum had assaulted at the top of the stairs and the magical force impacts the goblin where it had be gutted by Grum previously, striking away the arm that the goblin had tried to use to cover himself and sending a slew of goblin blood across the wall. The goblin, with a weak croak stumbles and falls off the stairs, landing with barely a thud as the tiny creature succumbs to blood loss.
Callie redirects her attention and aims her bow last remaining goblin on the ground floor that Squelch had hit before. It had tried to crouch down below the crates but the goblin's head is still sticking out if ever so slightly, and you focus on that single point of opportunity. Pulling back the bowstring and releasing the arrow, it soars through the air as if guided by the wind and pierces that one spot of exposed goblin, and it slumps behind the crates, dead.
Yeemik is the last one remaining now, and despite his injuries from Brandor looks intent on fighting. "You cannot kill Yeemik!" He slashes at Brandor in an act of rage, defying his situation. Attack: 23
Grum sees the magical energy streak past him and finish the goblin off, giving Grum the opportunity to continue running up the stairs to engage Yeemik.
This time the first swing is a fierce jab at Yeemik's ribcage, followed up by another overhead swing coming down into the shoulder of Yeemik's weapon hand.
Attack: 10 Damage: 9
Bonus Attack: 12 Damage: 5
(Rolling extra damage for the first critical hit - another 1d6 for the crit itself, and another 1d6 from my Half-Orc Savage Attacks trait so 2d6 extra damage: 3
(Nice crit! Is the number there doubled already or nah? Either way--)
With the first goblin out of the way Grum dashes up the steps and drives his sword through Yeemik's ribs. He wasn't expecting such quick movements and his face is painted with shock and fear as you drive your shortsword into his chest. You feel the blade touch bone and you push it in deeper, until you feel the bones crack and something tougher on the inside being pierced. Yeemik's eyes roll backwards, his jaw wide open but not emitting any sound as he slumps onto the blade.
<End of Combat>
The room is now silent, save for a small cooking fire on the lower deck crackling gently. Sildar pushes himself up from being face-flat on the ground, placing his back against the wall.
"Friends, thank you." As he coughs, a small amount of blood comes out onto his hand which he wipes on his rags. "That nasty goblin would have executed me had you gone and killed that bugbear... That was some fine thinking getting him to question his decision but a blade works fine as well." He coughs again, no blood this time. "My name is Sildar, I think I've seen you all before... are you the ones escorting Gundren's supplies?"
(No, I rolled a nat 20 on the attack and nat 6 on damage. I mostly post from my phone and can't get the dice roller or other formatting options, so have to type the codes for all attacks and rolls in full. So it gets a bit complicated to add the codes for possible crits!)
"We are. We saw your dead horses on the road. The goblins tried to ambush us, too, but we cut them down. We got your location out of the last one before it died. Gundren had been taken to this 'King Grol', it said. Do you know anything further?"
"Oh, sorry, excuse me a moment..." Grum adds, before running back down the stairs to retrieve his bow.
