The Sleeping Giant is a ramshackle taproom at the east end of town. Four human ruffians linger on the covered porch, perched on empty ale barrels or leaning against the wall. They all wear grimy scarlet cloaks, their sullen stares fixed on you as you approach.
One of the thugs spits on the ground. "Well, well," he snarls. "Here's a whole pack of little puppies. What do you want, puppies? Come here to bark at us?"
Grum bristles at the arrogance coming from what are clearly a bunch of bullies who've been left unchallenged for too long. But despite himself, he managed to keep cool outwardly.
"A whole pack? There are just four of us. Four friends, just come here for a drink, like you."

Assuming the Redbrands are probably going to try and stop him at some point, but seeing they're currently sitting or leaning against walls out of his way, Grum ignores them and casually walks in through the door, trying to get a good look around, including a head count of any further Redbrands inside, before any of them can respond to block him.
Callie scowls at the gathered Redbrands, unimpressed. She stands ready to help Grum if they try something, but otherwise lets him take the lead. Her gaze wanders over the ruffians, looking intently for the first sign of any of them reaching for a dagger or cudgel.
One of the Redbrands places his hand on your chest and gives it a little push as you try to walk in, Grum. "Woah, you trying to ignore us?" The one closest to the door moves towards the group. "Time for you to move on, strangers. Give us your stuff, and be on your way."
The door to the Sleeping Giant is one of those old western ones that are like flaps that you can push open. You see a surly dwarvish woman inside who looks up at you as you approach the door, then looks back down as the Redbrands push you back, seemingly unfazed by the action. There's no one else that you can see in the establishment, the dwarvish woman leaning back on the bar with her arms crossed.
You both also see that each Redbrand has two shortswords on their person, and are each wearing brown studded leather armour. The one at the front has his side turned away and his arm placed above the hilt of his blade. The ones at the back are eyeing you all with a dirty look, and they have all placed their beverages down on the floor.
Keeping her eyes on the developing situation, Callie whispers to <Squelch> and Brandor. "I don't like this, we came here to get information, not start a fight. If something breaks out, let's try to get Grum out of there, then cut and run."
She doesn't even turn as she shakes her head amused, not indicating either yes or no before continuing to polish a glass. The Redbrand that pushed Grum has now drawn his blade, and points it towards Grum. "You just had to keep pushing didn't you."
The man pulls his blade back above his head, ready to swing! Please all roll Initiative.
Brandor cracks his knuckles and his neck. "Oy! let's settle this like gents shall we?" The dwarf sets his staff against the wall and makes a point of pulling his dagger and darts and setting them on a nearby by table. " You've got the big britches, you an me settle this with fists. I win we get to have drinks at our leisure for the evening. You win,"Brandor sets a 5gp and 6silver purse on the table having divided his money up before coming in, " you get your drinks free for the evening. What do you say?"
He nods over to the other Redbrands in the corner, "Or are ye afraid to get beat by a little ol dwarf." Having been in bandit groups before Brandor knows ego reigns supreme among the henchmen.
<Squelch> hangs back from the argument happening at the door of the tavern, watching for any of the Redbrand's allies coming from the surrounding buildings or alleys.

"Indeed, let's see what these Redbrands are up to."

He flicks his thumb across the tip of his nose as he bounces lightly from foot to foot in classic boxer fashion, "Come on boys, lets play..."
