(OOC: sorry about not posting for a few days. I am very busy with school at the moment and will not be able to continue playing in this campaign. However, from what i have experienced, the campaign seems great! keep up the great work)
<Squelch> raises and hand and pricks his finger, producing a single drop of blood. He points towards the three Redbrands who are uninjured. His eyes darken as he mutters in several languages.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grum shrugs, as if to say, "That's not how I intended this to end, but if you're that easily stirred to violence, you asked for it..." Then he fixes the thug that Brandor already hit with a dark stare, which slowly broadens into a wide smirk. Grum licks his lips, savouring the adrenaline rush coursing through him, as he draws a Shortsword and the Mariner's dagger, and attacks the injured Redbrand.
Callie draws her shortsword immediately, but isn't fast enough to parry either of the thug's incoming strikes. She isn't quite able to clamp down a strangled cry of pain, but she recovers quickly. Moving more on honed instinct than proper thought and consideration, she slips through the Redbrand's grasp and moves around to try and stab the uninjured brigand attacking Brandor in the back.
Attack: 22 Damage: 11
(Using Cunning Action to disengage, then moving to and attacking the uninjured Redbrand going after Brandor. Sneak Attack is included in the damage roll)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Unfortunate Bartholemew, but understandable. Looking forward to perhaps playing with you in the future!)
Charisma saves for the last 3 Redbrands: 13 12 4
Two Redbrands seem to resist the magical effect, but the last one is too distracted and Squelch's spell pierces their mind, infecting them with lethargy and disrupting their motions.
Grum, wielding his shortsword and the new Mariners dagger cross-cuts the previously injured Redbrand, carving two larges slices across it's chest which causes him to fall back to the ground, blood pouring out of the wounds.
The thug that attacked Callie looks like he's going to attack again, but being a dexterous elf you swiftly duck under his blade and stab at the Redbrand who was least expecting it, sinking your blade deep into their back as they cry out in pain.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"That's the ticket lassie!" Brandor says moving from his first Redbrand to the second. He weaves a bit back and forth, making sure the man is on edge trying to watch him and Callie as she had just slipped in behind him. When he sees his opportunity he goes in for an old fashion 1-2 combo, left jab into a right hook.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The man dodges backward to avoid your left jab, and he looks like he's about to dodge again but the pain from Callie's blade prevents him from moving backwards and your punch lands with a solid impact, causing the Redbrand to pass out from the pain.
The last two Redbrands are furious, and they slash wildly at both Callie and Brandor Against Brandor: Attack: 14 - (2 from bane) Damage: 7 Attack: 17 - (1 from bane) Damage: 7
Against Callie: Attack: 22 Damage: 5 Attack: 15 Damage: 3
(Crap the values changed when I edited it to add bane, I cant remember what the values were but I know the ones against Callie were both above 20 so they would both hit. Let me know if you think it's unfair though since I screwed that one up)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
<Squelch> leaps towards Callie after she is struck. <Brandor's voice> "..lassie!" He speak strange words and reaches a hand clad in dark energy towards her.
(Casting Cure Wounds for 12 points of healing if she is at 0 hp, or for 8 healing if not.)
(edit: if Callie didn't get hit, cast on Brandor - previous post looked like she was going down with 14 dmg)
Grum is furious at the hits inflicted on his friends, and surges at the Redbrand that hit Callie, slashing with his shortsword and following up stabbing with the Mariner's Dagger.
Your sword cuts deep into the Redbrand's back, and you follow it up with the mariner's dagger, burrowing deep into their heart and executing them instantly.
(It's all good, both attacks still hit either way. To avoid the dice weirdness though, add new dice rolls from edits after whatever rolls were made prior, otherwise it will ping the rolls as manipulated. If we're running with the 8 damage, then Callie is sitting on 6 HP, so I guess <Squelch> heals Brandor? Nevermind, misread that.)
For Callie, her world is momentarily clouded by pain. She gives a strangled cry before a small avian hand touches her side, and the worst of the pain fades. With her focus regained, she flicks her blade out towards the nearest Redbrand still standing, and then uses the distraction to disengage and get clear of danger.
Your blade arcs upward and the ruffian attempts to dodge, but that only causes the blade to slice up across their face, slicing a clean line vertically and taking out his right eye. "Gah, ****!"
Brandor looks down at his forearm where he had just taken a defensive wound. The cut was shallow but blood still ran from the wound. He sets his brow and lays into a three hit combination. Working his way up the thug he gives a right hook to the stomach, followed by a left into the ribs, then rears backward and lunges forward with a nose shattering headbutt.
Your attacks all land in a satisfying combo, the last ruffian grunting with each blow. "Oof!" "Ack!" "Ugh!" Your final headbutt sends him backwards dizzy, before finally falling to the ground, dead from his wounds.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grum turns to the rest of the party, "I am so sorry. I didn't mean to start a fight. I simply thought that if I challenged their authority they might slip up and reveal the source of their authority. I didn't think they'd be quite so insecure and volatile about it."
"How is everybody? Anyone need some more healing? Brandor?"
Grum will also cast Cure Wounds for 10 on whoever is currently lowest for hp - I think Brandor at this point? (Grum is at 11/18, so probably myself actually)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
<Squelch> stabilizes any who may be on the edge of dying, but does not waste any resources on making them comfortable. He also takes all of their weapons and empties their pockets. After this, he cuts off their armor and clothing, relying on his criminal background to locate any "special" purses, no matter where they are hidden.
Investigation: 8

(Just the first one that was clocked by Brandor is still alive, im basically ruling that bludgeoning damage knocks em out and blades kill them, unless specified otherwise.) The Redbrand is stable, your magic saving him from the brink of death and closing the wounds on them. Among the corpses you find a total of 16 copper in their pockets, suggesting they weren't carrying much or spent most of it recently at the Sleeping Giant.
"I'm guessing that wasn't quiet. Should we try and hide at least some of the evidence of this scuffle? Also, the barmaid in there (who probably had a great view of most of it given the saloon style doors) seemed to be in with them. We should talk to her, see what she knows? Try to work out if she's alerted any others to what just happened. Someone else should definitely do the talking this time! Unless you all just want to get out of here fast and get back to the Stonehill Inn to rest up before any more come looking for us?"

"I'm alright, thanks to Squelch. Thanks, by the way."Callie takes a few calming breaths, looking around at the four bodies now strewn around the porch. "I guess it worked out Grum, but we might want to lay low for a little while here. It's our first day in Phandalin and we've killed three men..." She scans the area, looking for any sign of other thugs or guards of any sort heading their way.
You dont see any sort of guards or Redbrands-- In fact you don't see anyone at all. As you scan the area you also notice that the barkeep is no longer there behind the bar.
