Celtra watches the others try and scale the wall for those berries. She snickered slightly as the others got about as high as she could jump before falling. Setting her pack down, she grabs some dirt and rubs it in her hands. She then looks at the cliff side plotting out her course and began her ascent.
OOC: I believe the man who bound "climbing" to Athletic only was the same person, that bound "Intimidation" to Charisma (only). But one way or another, we got the berries.
The group effort nets a good haul of berries. Bryn, quoting the journal, explains that the berries, dark brown and bitter, will lose potency within 24 hours, so to eat as many as possible right now. They're bitter indeed; Azaka mentions Tej would have been better to crush them into but… so it goes. No Tej.
In any case, the berries, while pucker-causing, push away any allergies you've been feeling from the jungle, and overall you feel… healthier.
The night passes without incident and you find yourselves the next morning refilling canteens from the rain catchers [1.5 gals] and trudging from your hollowed jungle spot with the canoe back down to the river. It's still quite wide and deep even though you're now in the jungle proper; you can just see the trees at the other side. It's hard to gauge how far away you are on the water, but it's a good distance. The day is cloudy and a slight wind sends water spraying off the water, which is in turn a bit rougher than you'd expect. No one slips getting into the canoe, but it rocks wildly.

Bryn suddenly exclaims and points further out into the river. Roughly 150 feet away, a long tentacle, maybe twenty feet in length, bursts from the water; the end of the tentacle splits and a screech echoes across the water. Not a tentacle.
The plesiosaurus drives its head back underwater and the surface of the river begins to roil with activity. Suddenly there are two of the creatures, ripping and tearing at what must be a giant octopus corpse! Tentacles flail about as the massive beasts pull and tug until one of them wins the battle and crashes back into the water with its prize. The loser turns its long neck and wedge head in your direction… and shrieks before diving in your direction.
What do you do?

Fulcra looks at the situation and around at the sudden explosion of activity from the group. He makes a wry face, then shouts at the dinosaur, "You have a WHOLE OCTOPUS to eat yourself!!! Look at us, we're going to be all boney and disgusting!!! Ug, you're so stupid dinosaur!" If it is under water, he'll hold his action until he can see it.
Cimeri and Taman watch as the the rest of the plesiosaur breaches and follows the head in a dive, hoping that their magical interventions at least give them a little more time to get to shore; the angle of the dive appears to be toward the glowing image at the bottom of the river.
Celtra, Bryn, and Azaka strain into the paddles as one, Celtra yelling out stroke counts as the shore becomes tantalizingly closer and closer. It's roughly another 20 feet away... and the canoe is not built for speed...
Fulcra watches tensely for the beast to reappear, his hand alight with magical flame ready to launch...

The canoe surges forward, bow cutting through the green water; Celtra watches the river bottom appear as the watercraft enters the shallows near the bank. It moves with such speed that a wake is created behind, and water splashes everyone inside as paddles fly in and out of the river. The beast hasn't reappeared, but roughly forty feet away the surface of the river roils with smaller fish that leap from the river into the air, flopping back down into the water.
The canoe grinds into mud at the shore, but it's still in the water, with everyone in it. Paddles are thrown onto the bank. Your choices (one cantrip is free):
1) Scramble out of the boat as quickly as possible and get out of the way, up onto the bank
2) Scramble out of the boat, try to pull the canoe onto land (Athletics check, disadvantage if the canoe is still full of people and bags)
3) Scramble out of the boat, pulling a bag with you (Acrobatics check or Athletics check)

5)Scramble out of the boat and cast a spell (other than cantrip), up to your knees in river (Acrobatics check)
6) Stay in the boat, surveying the landing riverbank for danger (Perception/Survival/ or Nature check)
7)Stay in the boat, casting a spell (other than cantrip)
8)Stay in the boat, give orders to coordinate the group (Persuasion/Intimidation check, unopposed)

Bryn yells from the canoe, "The bank is clear!" as Celtra, Fulcra (hand still aflame) and Cimeri spring from the boat, followed by Taman; a divine glow flows from Taman's hands to Celtra as she and Cimeri haul the boat through the shallows. Azaka leaps from the stern into the water and puts her shoulder into the craft, driving with her legs. The canoe glides forward almost effortlessly as the earth under the bow churns out of the way, sucking the boat forward and away from the water; Azaka, Celtra, and Cimeri lose their balance as the canoe shoots onto the bank. Ripples on the surface of the water indicate something large moving towards you beneath.
