Then the human continues to dust himself off, before walking away into the scattered crowds, leaving you all amongst yourselves to execute your own personal plans. The tavern appears inviting as the half-orcs proceed to enter, the smell of ale wafting out from it, as the warmth of the interior practically radiated from the flimsy wooden door.

[OOC: was not going to look it up, but now curious if Black Cat might have heard of it.]
Looking at the human as he disappears into the crowd, Black Cat will look at the group, "We going inside? Continue reason we are here and then get out before I," beak clicking rapidly for a moment, "get distracted."
Looking to Black Cat and Aldin, Jorel will gesture to the entrance, "Aldin, if you'll lead the way to that staircase, lets see if we can find that guy you two saw."
"I'll linger outside," Nirug says to the others. "But if you need help or something turns ugly. Just give a shout or make some noise." He will then watch until the others enter and learn against the wall by the door.
As you make your way inside the tavern door, you view the expansive interior of the crowded tavern.
Aldin, you immediately spot the 'Staff Only' door, from being in the tavern before, and can make it over there with some ease if you'd like.
And those not going with Aldin hear some yelling that erupts suddenly from a table, where the two familiar half-orcs shove away a tiefling with a dejected look on his face from a table where a figure on the other side gladly takes a pile of gold and places it in front of him, putting each piece of gold into a leather satchel. This, you realize, is Ester Lynchar.

Smoke, you look around but there seem to be a lot of shady figures, and any who may be there blend in well. You do see a few people giving the table glares, but given the fact that they don't appear to be holding a drink or money, you can assume they lost to him.

Jorel, as you move closer you see that there are multiple people watching the table, intrigued at who will try their luck with Ester next. You can see that, as he places the leather satchel of gold beside him, there are several ones larger than that next to him, all full of gold.
A small halfling next to Ester puts away a certain case of dice and brings out a new one. Another henchman, you presume.
This is the first time you can truly see Ester. He's a fine young Elven man, with daring attractiveness and expensive clothing. He has a smirk upon his face as he has an egotistical aura that practically radiates from him, and you can tell, no one dares challenge that about him.

Aldin looks down at the Kenku, sweat lightly beading his forehead, "Yeah, Jorel and I can deal with whatever we find downstairs. Just don't get tossed in the jail this time huh?"
He moves with Jorel to the staff door and opens it like he belongs there. If no one stops him or says anything he continues down the stairs trying to at least not clomp down them.
Black Cat will wander over to the table and watch a couple of games studying what is going on to see if he can learn the possible ways of cheating at the game or how someone might be cheating at the game. Also would like to check out the crowd to see who might be in on it or at least on the side of Ester Lynchar.
Aldin, after not being stopped, you and Jorel descend for a few minutes until the stairs open up into a long expansive hallway, with a vaulted ceiling. You do this rather stealthily, not making too much noise but also your nervousness seeping into your movements, causing a few loud steps here and there. The hallway smells of alcohol and is quite cold as dim torchlight illuminates every step, the floor wet and slightly sticky. After a minute or two, there is a hallway that forks away, and you can hear talking from within a room that is a few feet down from the fork in the path. What will you do?
Black Cat, studying the game, it doesn't seem to be something you've played before, but perhaps seem in your experience. You witness Ester play close to flawlessly, and after the three quick games you watch, he has yet to lose a single coin, emptying his winnings into another satchel he places beside him. The game seems to be a dice-rolling game involving two six-sided dice. Ester seems to know exactly when to do the correct moves. Looking around, you spot that most of the onlookers are dressed in nice clothing, not who you would suspect to be in a crowd of gambling games. You actually recognize one of their cloaks--one of them, although a different figure, appears to be wearing the same type of aristocratic silver cloak. Something seems off.
Black Cat will try and make his way, hopefully with not calling attention to himself, to stand slightly behind the silver cloaked figure and then surreptitiously study him for a few more games, to see if he is doing anything to affect the game. Ester's win st4reak seems to be a bit more than just luck.

Perception: 10 Sleight of Hand: 20 Stealth: 25 Investigation: 19
Black Cat, you stand behind him without him noticing you at all. You notice that he has yet to take his eye off the game, he's completely fixated on each card, on each die. Something even stranger, you notice a mark on his left hand that hangs by his side. It's pale and a bit wrinkled, with several scars from some form of hardship, you presume. But the strange thing is that there is a mark--the mark that was on the back of the red-cloaked figure in the alleyway. And it's on an aristocrat's hands, which is very, very contradictory to what you viewed in the alleyway, with the disagreements between the two organizations, whatever the red-cloaked figures may be. After a few games, the two half-orcs approach the pile of leather satchels, each filled with hundreds of gold coins. There might be at least three thousand just in those satchels alone--which appear to be just today's earnings. The half-orcs leave one for Estrer to use to bet, and then put the satchels in two large bags, carrying them outside and rather swiftly into the streets. Headed somewhere. You might be able to catch them if you tried. But there's also quite a lot going on here, it seems.
Jorel, as you walk slowly down the short hallway, the voice get louder, echoing off the walls as you approach. You slide a few times on the wet floor, causing small squeaking sounds on the stone floor. Not fully inside yet, you see two red-cloaked figures conversing in front of a large assortment of barrels. Barrels practically surround the room, scattered across it. You realize that this is where they keep most of the ale for the tavern. Aldin, you would recognize one of the figures as the one you saw go down the stairs at first, and the other a much slimmer red-cloaked figure. You can't make out much from where you are, though. Jorel, you hear the voices. The rougher one explains, "He settled for 20,000. There was no way he would accept less, I'm telling you!" The slimmer one responds, "That's simply insanity, Dauvyn! You think I have those types of funds? I'm busy with running a campaign for the most important elections of the decade, and you're off making secret arrangements? We can't give them 20,000!" "We don't need it right away. But they'll be waiting in Xiladen for it." "Well, I have to visit Xiladen anyway, for the campaign. I'm doing a speech. I hope to sway some of the people. Alright...just...we need 5,000 gold, and I'm not sure where we'll find that. But you got me into this, so you have to get it, alright? I'd prefer if you kept it legal this time." Jorel, your feet squeak on the slippery stone yet again. This time, the figures glance over. The rougher one says, "What was that?" What will you do?

Torn on what to do, but then deciding to follow the money, I will tail the half-orcs to see where they are going. Leaving a mark on the door in Thieves Cant to let Aldin know where I am went.
Black Cat, you follow them with extreme stealth. You miss a turn or two as they are walking at unnaturally fast speeds for half-orcs, but you always end up catching up to them. After a few minutes, they stop in front of a building and enter. You realize that this is the antique shop...the same one the silver-cloaked aristocrat from the alleyway went into. The half-orcs enter and the old wooden door swings closed slowly. What will you do?

Noticing the bard Smoke halts and turns to Jorel. We might have to play against him, ill need your eyes to make sure he doesnt cheat.
He looks to Black Cat and Aldin. Any of you want to play against him?
So exciting, he mumbles to himself.
Smoke will look around the tavern to see if there are any other notable characters or bodyguards that might be working for Ester.
