Maggie visibly rolls her eyes. “If we have to ask this lord and his hunter for help, I want to meet them first. Make sure they’re not the sneaky, funny business type. I don’t need another reason to dislike nobles.” She uses her tail to pick up her lute and put it on her lap, before speaking. “Oh, maybe if they don’t know about the treasure until later, we can get the first pick on our shares. Now, who wants to sing with me?” She starts playing rousing music.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
At the mention of music, Gimble will put the toy back in her pack and excitedly clap her hands. "YAY!" As the music begins she dances with the beat ((Performance 18))
((Hey all, sorry for not posting this weekend, was at the PAX tabletop convention the whole weekend in Philly. Great time, a lot of cool games and whatnot)).
As you discuss what's the best next step for you all Salty serves you your orders and comes around occasionally refilling your drinks and taking away empty plates. The Oar's Rest lunch rush has slowly trickled out and at the moment there are only a few handfuls of patrons finishing their meals or just lounging around. Salty takes this time to start cleaning the bar and mopping the floor.
Gimble, after tinkering with this crow toy you bought you notice something unusual. At first glance, it looks like a toy a child of good means might have played with, but upon closer inspection, you see that this mechanical bird is more advanced in its construction. The small, intricate gears insides of the bird reveal work done by a master tinkerer. Why the crow was made, or what it was meant to be used for you are still unsure. And to fix it and make it operational might take some time. You'll need to find the equipment or have it tailored made, but you know with enough tinkering this could be something special.
Maggie's music and performance is spectacularly good. Unfortunately, the only people who are lucky enough to hear Maggie are the rest of the party, Salty, and a few patrons still at the bar. Salty's head bobs up and down to the tune and he quietly whistles along with the tune to himself.
Gimble manages to find a little room to dance, but the wet floor from being recently mopped allows for little treading and Gimble, in an attempt to twirl, loses her footing and falls on her bum. However, with the music being so pleasing, the crowd just laughed along with Gimble.
Gaerich claps along with Maggie’s song and laughs good naturedly as Gimble talked her tumble. After the performance he says “I say we head over and speak to this Hammand, give him our terms. If he accepts, we’re ready. If not, then to hell with him and we find another way. What do you say?”
"Oh Gimble, can I help you up?" Clavorus heads to Gimble's side and offers his hand to her. He looks over to Gaerich,"Yes, let's be on our way to Hammand and see what he says."
"Alright by me! Worst comes to worst we can give this Muldoon the runaround when we make anchor, unless he's worth his salt and ale." Cyrus watches Gimble tumble to the ground with a bemused look on his face.

After a moment of thinking, Maggie swallows the bit of fish and speaks. “The hunter would like the thrill of catching the creatures we face, he probably wouldn’t demand compensation for the risk. The lord, or maybe his representative if he’s cowardly, would want to be paid for providing us with the means of travel and for the risk. You all know my opinion on nobles. If this is the choice we’re going with, we should keep as much information as possible to ourselves. We could tell him about the things we could face and that there may be gold treasure, but no mentioning the pearl. What do you guys think?”
"I'd appreciate if we all kept the Pearl on a need-to-know basis actually," Cyrus replies. "As a rule of thumb. Should we all go to Muldoon together or what?"

After finishing a late lunch and paying your tab you all decide to head over to the Lord Hammand's Bush Expeditions located over on 2042 Knotts Way while continuing your discussions on what to do. The walk over brings you back through the docks and the Bazaar and leads you into a more commercial part of the city with rows and rows of four and five-story buildings that are home to a variety of offices and businesses. Some of the businesses you walk by:
-The Vault of Equity, a large bank with imposing columns and several armed guards outside -The Drake's Belly, a large warehouse with private storage units, used mostly by individuals or adventure parties who want to safely secure their gear and other goodies. -The Hasty Cake Supplies, a large mill used to make candies, cakes, and cookies. Smaller, boutique candy and sweet makers rent out space in the mill -Wooden It Be Nice, a furniture manufacturing mill where carpenters, designers, and artists in the city can have access to tools and space to create and build -The Last Shot Bidding House, an open floor plan building where random auctions of all types happen.
Finally, after walking for thirty minutes you find 2042 Knotts Way. You see a four-story building with the bottom floor being built out of stone and the following three-levels built out of wood. Signage outside the building lists several different businesses located in the building, among them Lord Hammand's Bush Expeditions on the 2nd floor, room 2B. There is a good amount of traffic coming in and out of the building. The street itself has a number of people going about their business.
As they are discussing their terms Gaerich nods at Cyrus. “I think everything should be on a need to know basis. I say we only tell them about the creatures. Keep the news of the treasure and lost city to ourselves.” He looks at the different members of the group. “Maybe one of us wants to study the creatures? And the rest of us are along for the ride? Maggie? Maybe you want to write a song about the beasts and we’re willing to trade our knowledge of the route for the travel?”
He looks at Cyrus. “I say we keep the pack together, watch each others backs. The talkers do the talking and the rest of us look tough.”
"I don't exactly look tough," Gimble pulls up the hood of her cloak hiding her face in shadow. "But, I can look mysterious" she says in a mischievous voice and then gives a little giggle.
Maggie chuckles. “I’m a musician looking for inspiration, Clav could be our creature expert, Cyrus the navigator, and Gaerich the muscle. Not too sure about Gimble here though. Also, should we keep the place a secret? It’s possible they may know of the name Isle of Dread.”
"Yes, yes... I am familiar with most animals in these parts, and many on the coast near the forests... Yes, I figure that would work. Excellent idea, Gaerich and Maggie. Now... ahh.. here we are - Lord Hammand, 2nd floor.. 2B."
Clavorus chuckles somewhat to himself "Or not to be... we shall see, we shall see... "
Gaerich smiles at Gimble “mysterious indeed.” He looks to Maggie “yes, we keep this as quiet as possible. No names, no details beyond the absolutely necessary.”

With a little sigh, "Its a raven, not a crow. It is a toy I found at Digby's I hope I can fix it."
