(Can Chrys use her readied action to throw her javelin and then still make an attack? If not, she'll just leap forward and make the attack with Due Process)
Seeing Lumen doing pretty much exactly what she told him not to do, Chrys groans and curses under her breath, leaping out from her hiding place as fast as her short legs will carry her. Huffing, she races towards the charging dog, attempting to put herself between the snarling creature and her friend, pulling Due Process out along the way.
(Yes, Chrys could have taken her readied action, but since you rolled so well, we'll just say that she took full advantage of the rare opportunity that she was actually able to hide and surprise someone. ;)
Sprinting forth from her hiding place, Chrys charges forward and delivers a powerful, bone crushing blow to the surprised mastiff, who had just endured Kess's blades. It reels with a loud guttural snarl as it tries to recover from the devastating attack against it.
FYI, Lumen had the lowest stealth check, and the lead dog actually beat it and smelled his presence as it approached. Lumen also had the highest initiative, so he got the first action (Sleep spell), and since the dog was surprised, it misses its turn in the round while the other get their attacks. Once Krackle Krackle is done with his action, Lumen will be at the top of the next round, and so he'll get his turn. Does that make sense?
(Makes sense! I was, perhaps, responding OOC/IC to Chrys' otherwise-legitimate grumbling about Lumen being foolhardy. In this particular instance, he didn't actually choose to get in the middle of the fray! He's just a odiferous half-orc I suppose.)
A faint glimmer of protective arcane energy briefly lights up around Vesper before disappearing and becoming an invisible boon to her natural defenses.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The large black mastiff lets out an odd yelp in response to Lumens cantrip. It keeps coming, though, and as the half orc steps back, the dog runs right into the stout hammer wielding wall that is Chrys. It gnashes ferociously at the dwarf, recklessly trying to get through her defenses, and shrug off the effects of the spell.
Attack: 13 Damage: 9
As hard as it tries, though, it can't seem to break through and it's black maw keeps meeting her hard parries. Even though, as Chrys is locked in battle with this monstrous hound, she can feel it's hot breath on her face and hear the terrifying growls that the beast lets out as it's claws scrape on the metal of her shield.
Kess's blades cut deeply into the creature's hide and flush out quite a bit of blood. The mastiff howls with a terrifying, blood curdling, snarl, and although it appears to be severely injured, the dog remains on its feet.
"Yes let's surround it and all ready our attacks at the same time,"Lumen says. "As soon as it's hurt, it'll wake up, so let's all hit it at once." He looks up at the trees. Anything moving or anything different? He tries to wrack his brain for any memory of a beasty dog like this. It definitely seems unnatural, right?
Kess positions herself to plunge both her blades into the hound's midsection with the hopes of exsanguinating it quickly, so as to minimize its suffering.
"Grim business, but I'm afraid that we've little choice," offering Vesper a sympathetic look.

(I believe the DM moved Lumen out of hiding - from what the player said, Lumen cast a spell with a range of 90 and readied a dagger to throw!) :)

Vesper is up.

(yeah I know ;). Chrys is just a dwarf though. Also, it’s funny! Poor Lumen, can’t catch a break... XD)
Vesper will cast Mage Armor on herself.

A faint glimmer of protective arcane energy briefly lights up around Vesper before disappearing and becoming an invisible boon to her natural defenses.
It is now Lumen's turn.
Lumen casts vicious mockery at the awake dog for 1 psychic damage on a failed WIS 14 save (and disadv on next attack).
"Your friend's looking pretty ruff. That's the kind of joke that makes my friends here say 'woof'."
He will inspire Chrys.
With his action, he'll step back 15 feet.
Dog WIS Save: 6

Kess is up next.
"Careful for the teeth!" Kess warns as she would slash into the hound's flanks.
Kess slashes for the ribs!
Once: 8 Damage(if it hits): 6
Twice: 12 Damage (if it hits): 1

Vesper's turn.
Vesper tosses a Firebolt at the mastiff, trying to finish it off!

Vepser's fire bolt indeed finishes off the mastiff with a charring, burning sizzle and a final pitiful howl.
"Sorry about that." Vesper says, seeing how brutal that was.

"We still got one left," Chrys warns. "Let's get it surrounded so it can't escape an' attack us separate-like."

Chrys ushers the others quickly into formation around the sleeping dog, getting ready to lay into it the moment it wakes up.
