"Do you speak?" Nasaar asks the mushroom people.  He slips his warhammer back into its loop at his hip.  Moving through the piles of zombie bodies, he heads towards the mushroom people.

Rusty looks at the pile of zombies to get as much information about the creatures as possible.

Investigation 15

[ooc] not sure which check you want.

Hari looks down at the zombie bodies scattered around the floor. "Taat," she mutters, wiping her blade in a fluid motion. She glances up as Nasaar approaches the mushroom people, watching them curiously.

Goblin Translation:

“When we were fighting the zombies, I could have sworn I heard in my mind one of them asking if we were allies.”

Sylvester turns to the mushroom men “Did we prove ourselves allies? What was that tentacle monster?” 

For Rusty:

 In response to Nasaar, the mushrooms let out spores. They scatter it about the party and the party can now hear a voice in their minds.

'Yes, we do speak. Since you did not attack us, you have proven to be allies against the Corpse Growth. You all fought a Corpse Flower, one of the plants in the growth.'

They answer the questions while the archers start to take the zombie corpses back to their passage. 

Sylvester shows a sense of excitement.

he then ask the mushrooms “Is this a common occurrence? Do you need our assistance to slay the plant?”

'When their numbers excel ours, they try to expand their territory. When we have more, we shall press them for more land. What is your purpose here?'

They ask.

Sylvester answers: “I think we’re looking for a crystal apple or something, haven’t seen one have you?”

"What we seek seems to be further down."  Nasaar adds in.  He gestures in the direction the locate object last reported the item as being.

'No, we haven't. We have no need of food.'

They reply

Kastor says, "You call that thing a flower?  It didn't seem much like a plant to me.  What we seek lies deeper, but we do not know much about it or this place.  Do you know how to get deeper, and what we might find there?"

'Deeper...there is a way down but there is only the lake there. We do not know of any plants that reside there.'

They answer.

'If you wish, our territory has a way downwards. We can take you there.'

"Sounds good to me."  Nasaar agrees.  "Lead on."

Sylvester replies “Nice to have a clear path for once. You sure we don’t need to worry about that flower?

Rusty is looking at his party confused by their comments. He deduces there must be some form of communications amongst the fungi and his group he can not perceive. He turns to his Warforged brethren. 

Axon, are you able to perceive communication with the fungal biological creatures?

Could someone please clarify the communication these creatures?

(Axon actually had to drop out so that's why I've botting him.)

'Sealing their territory is just to prevent their numbers from going all about. If you wish, you may rest before heading downward, it is a long path downwards.'

"A rest would be nice first."  Nasaar tells the others.  "Shall we do so, and be more prepared for any dangers we meet when we do continue?"

"Yes, I see no advantage in pressing on immediately, when we have the opportunity to safely take a rest."

"Sorry Rusty, it didn't occur to me that you weren't getting both sides of the conversation."

Kastor will relay the details of the conversation to Rusty and Axon.

(If you guys want to do a short rest, long rest, say so, otherwise I'll take it as the party continues.)
