Hearing the thundering of the charging boar behind him Roland turns on his heel and chops straight into its snout with his electric glaive. Penny sights along her arrow and shoots the boar where it least expects it!
Action: Shoot bow at boar with sneak attack damage (I'm guessing for nearby foe, not surprise, since boar knows boar killers are about, so no Advantage)

Deshi looks up the trail at their bonfire, then back at the boar. They mutter a little name (just a small edit), and the common room fireplace pops into being (hopefully) directly under the boar!
Deshi clears their throat. "Yes... Well, happy to have helped." He dispels the flames (before more hair can burn).
The tortle turns to the others. "We're getting closer to civilization. I'm surprised to see such a creature living so near an established settlement, let alone attacking in this way. It must have known we were a threat to it."
They tap a long claw to their chin as Osskil alights upon their wooden staff. "We have a ways to go still, and it would be best to approach the city from the west as dusk falls to best avoid human detection while minimizing exposure to more predators. Unless you have plans to ... salvage... this creature, let us hurry on."
Penny gathers Tippy Tap and its notepad, and rejoins the rest, wrinkling her nose at the smell. She considers retrieving her arrow and thinks better of it. That’s two down, now.
”Let’s get a shuffle on, then.”

Roland uses his glaive to chop of the giant beasts tusks. "You know turtle, sometimes I think you overthink everything. Should just trust your instincts more. Impulses exist for a reason. For us to follow them."

In any case, with your items collected and perhaps a bit more know-how gained from what you’ve done, you continue to follow the river along the path. Eventually, with the sun high in the sky, your group finally makes their way into the town of Drywood. Currently, you are situated on a hill just outside the town, and so you can see an overview of the locale. Ironically, the town itself is quite green, situated outside the bounds of the forest. Short grass covers the roads of the town, which sits neatly on the open plains. In the distance, you see the train station and the tracks heading off into the horizon. Toward the other side, the river continues, curving off toward, according to the map, a large lake a couple of miles out. The buildings of the town are various shades of red and white, all hustled around a central town square.

"There is time yet before the fissure reveals itself. That said, we'll need to alert the proper authorities as quickly as possible to ensure the local population has ample time with which to relocate."
Nevertheless, it is clear that the best course of action is to actually get into town and eat some food. Pulling up some collars and hoods, you all venture inward. At about noonish, the lunch time remains busy, with plenty of the taverns and restaurants being crowded with people.

There’s no way Penny is trying to go incognito with the messenger pigeon. Before entering town she quickly dictates a message, “Cattle on tracks, delayed. No help need. All fine here. How are you?” Though she gets a little flustered at the end. Then she puts Tippy Tap down without his collar or his pad, and wishes him well. Then she goes with the rest into town, depositing collar and pad somewhere along the way.

With giddy bloodlust, Roland carves through the boar, lightning arcing throughout its body.
However, it is Penny’s sharp shot into the hamhock of the boar that the boar screeches to a halt, tilts side to side, and falls over. Dead. Hurray!
Meanwhile, a small flame erupts beneath the boar as Deshi’s late shot toasts it.
Everyone may receive 113 xp for that. For... some reason.
I have now decided that Milestone will work better for this.

Unfortunately, while Roland’s crushing blow severs the tusk, it also put a nasty crack through it. Not much of a price going for broken tusks.
