Peri:
Hearing the deafening boom and fearing for his comrades, Peri rushes through the door and takes in the scene. He sees Butter struggling with a skeleton but decides to leave the murderous drunkard to his fate. The wizard, however, is worth saving. Peri runs at Skeleton #4 and leaps into a flying kick at its skull: 18 Damage 7
His kick going wide, he'll follow it up with an elbow: 14 Damage 6
(Craig was suggesting that battle maps would be helpful. Would something like this make your life easier? Or does it ruin the theatre-of-the-mind for you?)

Undeterred by the sonic blast, Peri brushes past Missy and leaps at one of the badly damaged bony assailants. His blows, however, do not connect with this resin-coated undead horror.
The skeletons advance and attack with their dusty but not-so-dull short swords.
Skeleton #1 attacks Butter. Attack: 8 Piercing damage: 3 - Miss. Butter easily fends it off. Skeletons #3 and #5 attack Qivys. Attack: 14 Piercing damage: 8 - Hit. A lucky strike slips between Qivys' plates, causing a nasty wound to his neck. Critical hit damage: +2(total 10). Attack: 21Piercing damage: 7 - Miss. This attempt was not as lucky. Skeleton #4 attacks Peri. Attack: 11 Piercing damage: 4 - Hit. Peri takes a painful puncture in his leg. Skeleton #6 attacks Missy. Attack: 6 Piercing damage: 3 - Hit. Missy takes a minor wound from her attacker.
(Forgive me - the dice rollers have been acting very odd after editing yesterday and today. Maybe I should relay the results of future rolls in subsequent posts and not try to edit at all. I don't know what's changed.)
Ignore the numbers above. Qivys takes 10 damage, Peri 5, and Missy 3.
You notice large, faint, blue rectangle appears on the east wall, near skeleton #4, gradually growing brighter.
Dwal steps into the dank room. Three glowing darts of light fly from his hands and strike three of the skeletons with searing blue sparks. Bone fragments fly, and you can see the skeletons are each damaged, but they continue to advance.
The blue glow on the wall becomes gradually brighter.
As the skeleton strikes out at her with its short sword Missy realizes she forgot to cast mage armor. It's not the end of the world, all it does is give her a scratch, but it's the principle of the thing. She's supposed to avoid getting hit in the first place. She realizes another thing, staring at the skeleton in her face, that there's a rather big gap in her repertoire leaving her on the back foot in this situation. Something she'll have to remedy later.
In the meantime, she disengages from the skeleton and slips between Qiyvs and Butters to stand in front of the doorway.
The horde of mindless clacking skeletons advance, and Peri finds himself nearly surrounded. All of the dust-covered abominations have taken some damage from the fight; #3 and #4 are the most damaged and are barely functional, yet still fixed upon Peri; #5 and #6 the least. The blue door glows ever brighter.
(Unarmed strikes. If I don't specify a weapon you can assume Unarmed Strike (doesn't seem to have a tooltip). Didn't make sense to try to stab something that's all bones.)
(And no, the dice roller mouseover isn't working for me either. I just get the spinning "waiting" circle. It works fine for actions and spells though.)
Qivys slams Skeleton #6 with his hammer, spraying bones and bone fragments across the room, and peppering Peri with resin-coated shards. The odd resin coating seems to have hardened their bones somewhat, but it was no match for Qivys' powerful hammer blow. Three down, three to go.
Skeleton #1 swings its sword at Butter. Short sword attack: 24. Piercing damage: 7
Skeleton #3 lunges at Peri. Short sword attack: 21. Piercing damage: 4
With a slight grinding sound, a panel in the east wall - the source of the blue glow - moves slightly, bathing the filthy room with unearthly blue light. Something has opened a secret door in the east wall by just a few inches.
Qivys and Butter manage to fend off their attackers, but Peri suffers a minor but painful puncture wound in his leg by the skeleton's rusty blade.
((Oh, and by the way, I was thinking more just round tokens with perhaps the initial of the character, not a full blown artists impression of the character. Didn't want to increase your workload that much Chris. ;) What's everyone's thoughts on the tactical map? I like the lack of coordinates. That makes it too regimented. But I do like being able to see where we roughly stand. Is it a lot of work Chris? ))

It's Dwal's turn.
Dwal is up, then Qivys and Missy.
Dwal
Skeleton's 3, 5, 6 will each take a Magic Missile.
Skeleton 3 damage: 3
Skeleton 5: 2
Skeleton 6: 3
Dwal steps into the dank room. Three glowing darts of light fly from his hands and strike three of the skeletons with searing blue sparks. Bone fragments fly, and you can see the skeletons are each damaged, but they continue to advance.
The blue glow on the wall becomes gradually brighter.
Qivys and Missy are up next.
Butter takes another swing at the skeleton he's engaged with. Long sword attack: 19. Damage: 2
The old guard shatters ribs; fragments of bone fly. Nevertheless, the skeleton carries on its attack, unaware of the damage it sustained.
Qivys and Missy are up.
Missy
As the skeleton strikes out at her with its short sword Missy realizes she forgot to cast mage armor. It's not the end of the world, all it does is give her a scratch, but it's the principle of the thing. She's supposed to avoid getting hit in the first place. She realizes another thing, staring at the skeleton in her face, that there's a rather big gap in her repertoire leaving her on the back foot in this situation. Something she'll have to remedy later.
In the meantime, she disengages from the skeleton and slips between Qiyvs and Butters to stand in front of the doorway.
Missy carefully retreats and stands with Dwal in the crowded doorway, as the skeletons wordlessly clack their bony lifeless jaws at her.
The eerie blue glow grows ever brighter, tracing a large, doorway-like rectangle against the NE wall.
Qivys, then Peri, are up next.
Qivys and Peri may act.
Peri:
Peri swings again at Skeleton #4 25 Damage 4
He will take his second Unarmed Strike against #4 if it's still up; if it's KO'd he'll attack #3 6 Damage 4
(I'll wait for the results before I move)
(What is Peri using for that first swing - short sword or unarmed strike?)
(BTW - Are dice roll mouseovers working for you all on computers? I can't seem to see the roll details these days for some strange reason.)
With a flying kick to the pelvis, Peri shatters Skeleton #4. Bones fly, clattering lifelessly against the north wall.
He swings and attempts to strike #3, but the skeleton deftly dodges the halfling's blow.
Peri may move.
Qivys is up.
Qivys
"Let Pelor's light guide your unliving soul to its resting place" he shouts as his hammer swings at #6.
Attack: 6 Damage: 6
Qivys slams Skeleton #6 with his hammer, spraying bones and bone fragments across the room, and peppering Peri with resin-coated shards.
The odd resin coating seems to have hardened their bones somewhat, but it was no match for Qivys' powerful hammer blow. Three down, three to go.
Skeleton #1 swings its sword at Butter. Short sword attack: 24. Piercing damage: 7
Skeleton #3 lunges at Peri. Short sword attack: 21. Piercing damage: 4
Skeleton #5 attacks Qivys. Short sword attack: 6. Piercing damage: 7
Dwal is up.
Dwal
Again Dwal calls upon his Dragconic Heritage and spits flame at Skeleton #5:
Hit: 16
Damage: 2
and misses.....
Dwal will try to move into the room and get to melee range of skeleton #5
