Ulfgar follows Skip to the large makeshift marketplace that the people have set up. When Skip approaches the people to sell the horse to, Ulfgar thinks he notices someone that he remembers. He walks past the man Skip is in conversation with and finds someone who looks not busy "I'm wondering dear sirs, if any of you would be able to take care of my horse for a few days while we venture on. It'll be worth the pain. I've always been known to be generous." He keeps looking at the man he thinks he remembers, but he's a bit aways off.

"Freya Wurtz," she says to Skip. "You sure you can sell your father's horses boy," she grins at him with a wink looking to Ulfgar next as a joke. "I can take the hoses sure," she says seemingly running the general store her tone is happy and speaks in accented common. "When the pass is clear however we move on. So, I don't know about boarding horses for your return," she explained. She's young with blonde hair elaborately braided in a crown on her head with fair freckled face. She's temporarily distracted from you by two kids running around the wagons which she pauses from speaking in a language you do not understand. You see the kids freeze for a moment in their game but only long enough for her to turn her eyes away before they start up again! "Haakon," she then calls out to a large human man, possibly even some sort of giant kin, who turns to face her, His head is bald but he had a thick black beard. "We are we heading through the pass once it's cleared yes? Not lingering here for more traders," she adds next still with a heavily accented common as the man she's speak to nod leaving his discussion with two other men who look very similar to him to walk over to Freya and the party. Freya then says something to him in her foreign language pointing at the hoses.
"We move on I think," Haakon replied moving now to the party and looking over Skip as well as Ulfgar. "Taking the pass over the mountain then," he asks looking at the two of them before examining the horses and then back at the party members. "Wise," he says going to each horse and giving it a once over as does the other men whose with him, they are younger looking but the three look very much like brothers. "I'll pay 45 each animal and track but not a coin more," he adds next holding his hand out for Skip to shake.
OOC: 5 horses at 45 gp a piece is 225 gp OR wait for the pass to clear.

Two human men have been dogging you since leaving Sul na Mara, the port city you entered from the refugee ship, and recently they've tried to 'hire' you for a job that you know is nefarious in nature. You've refused politely several times but the human men do not seem to get the hint. During one such polite refusal, you notice a dwarf you spoke to several times on the ship from the Waste to Talamh. He's with a human teen and a group of five horses. You then watch them go to a trader who's been kind to you. The Wurtz family have fed and shared their fire many times after you have helped them with manual labor, they do not seem the least bit wary of your demonic origins. You've even entertained the two Wurtz boys with cantrips when no one was looking. The two men this time do not seem to be letting up. They keep trying to offer you a drink but you know their intentions are not honorable.
"Come it's a drink to seal the deal," the fat man says with a patchy beard. "Take a swig and let's get a move on," he adds pushing the waterskin at Astral again. "Come on....leave this stinking hole of a camp and come with us back to the city. We'll get you back in...no pass...no problem," he adds as his petite counterpart nods.
Neither of them has drunk out of the waterskin and both overwhelm you with the smell of BO as well as pipe weed.

"Or, mayhaps i should take that waterskin and dump it all over you. Do you some good as you both stink worse than the rats I saw lying in some dung a while back." Astral holds his tome close to his chest "I would like to keep my composure but if you boys really must keep bothering me... then this is your last warning to BACK OFF." Ast is doing his best to hide that he feels outnumbered. He tries to subtly look around a bit and notice the dwarf he gives a small smile of relief having not wanted to drag the Wurtz family into this and says slightly louder just enough so that the dwarf can definetly hear "If you keep bothering me Im afraid I and my friend over there will have to force you to stop."
Skip would turn and look to Ulfgar. "Well.. What will it be Mr. Ulfgar? It is a fair deal but if you want to keep Beauty.. maybe we could walk her with us up the pass..." He would say before turning his sbaggy head to look towards the nearby commotion.
Brace wanders back worried about the horses and the money. He steps over to listen to the negotiations. insight: 25 . When he hears the offer he stops to think how fair it is.
Having attempted to leave twice now and seeing the hesitation on Theo's part Keth simply shrugs and stands where he is. He knows they have plenty of time, those bandits are surely not going anywehere and there is no reason to rush. He idly takes a look around for anything that could be connected to the mule and pony that was stolen, wether it be the animals themselves or maybe the tack they had.
Astral will give a quick nod as he quickly scampers over to the pair who are talking to "Heya Freya, mind if i interrupt for a short moment?" Ast quickly turns to the dwarf and the young human "Hey you were on that ship, right? That went from the Waste. Listen, I would like to offer my services for a bit as I have two men after me and it feels like the pair will only get more agressive. I need some protection, or at least not to be out numbered if they come after me again. Would you do that? My name is Astral by the way, though most just call me Ast."

"OH.. Hello Mr. Ast.. uh.. well I am not much of a fighter but my friend here is... " Skip would reply as he gives Ulfgar a pat on the shoulder. "I mean.. I could probably help a little but i'm not incredibly strong or intimidating..."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Brace listens to the new comer. "So your name is Astral. My name is Brace and we are a team here with a goal in mind ourselves but we don't mind help if help is offered and I understand you are in need of companionship as well. You seem to know some of these good people. Can they vouch for you?" Brace looks towards Freya and Haaken. "Should we bring this Teifling with us on our journeys?"insight: 24 as Brace tries to get a feeling for Astral.
"Astral!" Ulfgar proclaims as he moves towards the teifling extending his hand out for a firm handshake. "Fancy meeting you out here. Who did you ride out here with? I'm actually looking for someone to watch my horse while we traverse the path on foot. I noticed those two giving you a hard time, is everything alright?"

“Uh... yeah yeah should be fine. Got here mostly by myself actually, hitched a ride on a caravan at one point and” Ast turns to Brace “I’d be happy to help, I have a handful of abilities of my own that could be helpful I’ve found myself to be a semi decent healer and I’ve, Er, acquired some magical abilities of mummy own,” Ast let’s his cloak show more of himself his fairly large book loose against his chest, his hood fallen down a bit so that his nest of hairnet is visible as well as his amber and silver eyes

"Theo," Keth starts, "you're from this continent right? Obviously I would be in some trouble for punching a native in the face back in the city, both because I am a refugee and a half breed. But what if some punks stole from me and I happen to catch them on the road, then I were to punch them. That would be fine right?" It's pretty lawless on the road between settlements. The Empire is spread thin now that our Emperor is being convinced to look for heretics among the magic folk outside the divine," Theo explains long winded. "Regardless of the proof you claim that you have the locals will pick locals over you," he adds.
