"No no no... no need for that..." Ulfgar interjects. "If there are some items to be acquired, then we are more than happy to oblige."He nods to the others. "And what is the rate at which you will be paying us good sir?"

"Oh yes! Uh," the younger man begins having momentarily locked eyes with the silver robed figure. "Please," he gestures for the party to back away from the table. "That would be two hundred gold pieces," the young man explains as the older man has turned away from the party focusing his gaze on various members seated around him. "One hundred now and one hundred on delivery of our lost items," the young man adds again moving the party away from the table politely but with determination as he puts himself between the party and the table of his compatriots. "I can answer anymore questions you have should everyone agree," he adds his eyes straying for a moment over his shoulder before nodding then returning his gaze to the party. "Time....really is of the essence," he says with an arch eyebrow.
He's a young man in his early twenties. His clothes are fine as is his robe. He's handsome and seems well mannered in his movements. His sandy blonde hair is fashionable and he's clean shaven. His appearance just seems to shout respectable.

Brace leans to Ulfgar "Good job"Then to the young man. "For myself I am ready to accept the task." He looks at he others and opens his hands with palms up in a pleasant questioning manor. "What say you all?"
Ulfgar smiles and quickly downs the rest of the contents in his mug of ale before slamming it on the top of the table. "Two hundred total? Or two hundred each?" Ulfgard leans in to the younger man. "I only ask because he did say the matter was urgent. And urgency is a valuable commodity."He leans in a little closer. "But truth be told, I think we'd be happy with that."

Volkher will nod his agreement, "I have no trouble stealing back stolen items, but I do have a few questions. First, what exactly are we looking for and how many items are there? Second, where should we bring them? Third, what can you tell us about these bandits? Fourth, do you have any preference for what becomes of these bandits after or while we're retrieving the items? And finally, where can I find a good alchemist or herbalist in the city?" The party, at least Keth and Ulfgar who've known him longest, are probably used to his way of patiently listening to everything, then asking lists of questions to obtain details.
Landrae lets a small smile creep over her face at the word "each", that will help get them settled in this place, or any other that she might choose to stop. Nodding as Volkher reels off his list of questions, mentally comparing it to the list she herself was compiling, she follows on from.Volkher before the man has time to answer, "One more if you please, since you mention that the matter is urgent. Why is there such a rush, is there a time that you need these good retrieved by? Oh, I guess that's two more questions, sorry." before offering him a coy smile and falling silent.
Not overly sure what the joyous thumbs up from Ulfgar could mean Keth returns with an enthusiastic nod and thumbs up of his own. He figures the dwarf could be excited for anything from a free round of drinks to gold, it is always a gamble but one Keth enjoys nonetheless.
"Wow!" Livly's eyes opened up wide with surprise, "You must be desperate or these bandits are dragons in disguise. But if you are willing to loose 500 gold right here, I think we are willing to try to help. Aren't we? I know I am."She looked up at every companion, checking the mood.
"Six hundred, your friend will be joining you yes," the young human man asks with a cocked eyebrow and looking over at Keth. "We have a timeline to keep is all you may know. The objects are several tomes and relics that are needed for certain events years in the making to come to fruition. You would return them here and we require them s soon as possible. Our agent or myself will be available to exchange the goods for your fee," he adds. "Do what you will with those bandits. They've alluded the proper authorities who have tried honorable means at catching them so I'm assuming you'll have to get...creative," he offers with a shrug. "I can tell you nothing more about them other than where we think they might be based and then attack the Gold Road. As for alchemists or herbalist they are plenty on the city still brave enough to have shops open. It's trying times as I said for anyone working outside the divine's eye so to speak," he lowers his voice slightly at this but then returns to normal. "I'm not overly familiar with this ward however but I'm sure the barman can help you there," he finishes.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"That all sounds well, except that you have not yet told use exactly what we are recovering... I'm fairly certain that most bandits try to steal from more than one caravan, and if they have eluded the local authorities as effectively as you suggest, then we can assume they have stolen a suitable hoard. Unless of course they have a fence to dispose of their plunder." Landrae looks directly into the young man's eyes, her eyes soft and friendly, "You don't have to tell us exactly what these artefacts are supposed to be, but we will need to be able to recognise all of the pieces you want us to recover. If you have drawings that would help, a good description at the least, and an idea of the size so we know how to transport them is information that we can't start without. Of course, if you wanted to tell us more, it can only make our job easier, which means you are likely to get them back sooner."
"The artifacts are clearly marked with this symbol," he takes out a medallion and shows the party. "It's really not something you could miss. The tomes have the same symbols and are enchanted to only open to us. These bandits have already tried to 'sell all back' to us but so far they've just killed the two groups we've sent and kept the gold too," he explains wearily before clapping his hand over his mouth and slowly looking behind him. Thankfully the others in his party seem too busy to notice his omission. He turns back to the party. "They really are simple artifacts and tomes they only serve us and our library. Not much of a market for them or we would have attained them," he adds. "It's very important we get them back and soon," he adds his tone very insistent now.
"Then you know where they are? Those bandits? Are we to go as a third group to "buy" the artifact back?" Livly planned to be a silent smiling supporter, but could not help it to butt in.
Keth has been watching the group really lay in to this poor kid and has a heart for him. He stands and walks up, "Hey guys, you guys are tearing in to this kid like a wolf into meat. Like a halfling in to pie. Like a dwarf in to a keg. I can go on if you would like."
"Like a half-orc into kobolds?" Landrae winks at Keth, then turn back to the young man. "We'll do our best to get your atrifacts back, and quickly too. Do you think my halfing companion's suggestion has any merit?"
"We think no association with our group is necessary. They won't negotiation. It serves no purpose to involve us. Both instances our other groups sent met at places the bandits posed not us. They are based in the mountains outside the city along the Gold Road. Easily hidden among the hundreds of caves but they regularly attack traders far enough from the city to get away clean before guards can be of any use," he explains. "Here," he takes out a small sack. "It's 60 platinum," he says handing the bag over to Keth. "Bandits along the Gold Road they called themselves the 'Band of the Faithful' but who's God or Goddess allows such villainy I do not know," he adds with real distress in his expression. "Good luck to you all," he then adds backing away towards his own group.
"I like the way they are handing out gold here. Why did it never before occur to me to come to this lovely city?" Livly giggled. "Soooo.... Time is of the essence, but we don't have to go right now, do we? I mean, a non swingeing bed for a change and a hot supper would be so nice right now..."
"Thank you for your trust in us. We wont let you down." Brace gathers to his group. "I'm going over to the proprietor to see if they have rooms or if we need to go elsewhere to find rest." Brace goes back to the bar and asks about rooms for the night.
