Grimnir is picking up as many mushrooms he can (OOC; how much is that ? I’m interested in the ones that enlarge you for battle = more damage with my hands !)
As you eat the pygmywort, the cavern seems to grow around you, the walls getting taller and the mushrooms and rocks increasing in size. You quickly realize you're actually getting smaller, until the tallest over you is barely over a foot. You're now the perfect size for exploring the small side passages. Belwar realizes quite quickly the mushrooms have put you under the influence of an enlarge/reduce which usually lasts for about an hour. Eating another mushroom just as the spell is about to end should prolong the time you are changed.
Amafrey agrees to stand guard outside the narrow tunnel and keep watch. She will contact you telepathically if anyone attempts to enter behind you.
You enter the tunnel, trying to move as quietly as possible, but being smaller presents it's own challenges with pebbles and stones becoming veritable road hazards. Your large group makes a fair bit of noise as you navigate the narrow passage. You pass by an opening on the right, where another tunnel branches off to a small cavern, and you spot a group of small demonic dog creatures led by another small bug like creature. As soon as you pass by, the dogs perk up, and let loose a strange howl, and then charge down the hall towards you!
(OOG Yes, you are all small sized, as you would not fit in the tunnel otherwise. Rather than roll initiative, just tell me what action you take as they rush down the hallway to you.)
The tunnel you are in continues North. The demons are rushing at you from a side passage to the East. There are 4 dogs (Dretches) and 1 Imp (Quasit), which is staying behind the dretches.
Grimnir, still surprised by his new size, rush toward the dogs. Finally he can do something, not like against this water weird. He gave the first dog a back with his staff, followed by an uppercut. Continuing his movement, Grimnir then jumps over the dog and stay 25ft away from the creature (no attack of opportunity due to my feat)

Jimjar was also surprised by the creatures. He throws 2 daggers at the dog that Grimnir just attacked then step back in the mushrooms and try to hide (bonus action)
Oorr's crossbow bolt whooshes past the Quasit as it dodges out of the way. It cackles and urges the dretches onward. Grimnir lands a solid blow with his quarterstaff, while Jimjar sinks his two daggers into it. The lead dretch stumbles a bit but continues charging the party.
"The bile-colored one is a quasit. Minor demon. They're resistant to magic, they can turn invisible, they can shapeshift into a handful of worthless little forms, they can't be poisoned, and they're hard to hurt with nonmagical weapons or most elemental damage, but they're relatively fragile. And they speak Common. Valrish, why don't you go pound it into the ground? Shouldn't take more than two hits with that mace of yours, even accounting for your current size."
I choose a spell, then continue my lecture. "The others are wretches--I mean dretches. Very minor demons. No magic resistance, no invisibility, no shapeshifting, no venom--I forgot to mention that a quasit's claws are venomous--no nonmagical weapon resistance, they don't speak Common, and they're even stupider than the quasit, if that's possible--and quasits are so stupid that the square root of their Intelligence Quotient is greater than their actual Intelligence Quotient. Takes a bit more to kill dretches, though, and they can emit poisonous gas in a pinch."
I raise my hands over my head, palms outward, and start chanting. My hands begin to be wreathed in layers of near-invisible magical force. I rotate them--palms up, fingers curled, knuckles facing the demons--then, with one final syllable, bring them together, wrists touching, fingers spread, palms facing the target, and unleash a devastating blast of thunder on the demonic catapult-fodder.

The dretches shudder under the blast, bringing their charge to halt. (Con Saves: 102159)
The first three demon dogs fall limp to the ground, blood and goo dripping from the orifices in their heads. The last one shakes its head, trying to remove the ringing from its ears. A thin green cloud of noxious fumes emits from the dretch, filling the small tunnel and engulfing Valrish and Grimnir.
The quasit looks at the dead demons, then looks at the deep gnome, then back to the dretches. And then it vanishes.
(OOG Grimnir and Valrish please make Con Saves: Any creature that starts its turn in that area must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of its next turn. While poisoned in this way, the target can take either an action or a bonus action on its turn, not both, and can't take reactions.)
Anyone is free to take an action now against the last remaining dretch.
With the quasit disappearing, Grimnir shout at JimJar. " Do you sense where it is? Can you hear it?" JimJar Perception (with Disav I guess): 7
