Mindartis grits his teeth as the blow lands, but he comes back swinging and attacks the knight again, leaving even more openings for attack.

Once again, only the second blow hits, but it is enough.  Baron Ollanpar--and his helmet--crumple. The knight standing as referee calls out, Mindartis Liadon of the Feywild, CHAMPION OF THE ARENA!

Flitterbug shrieks with joy as she flies circles around your head, but her tiny voice is almost lost in the deafening roar of the crowd!

Stormshade, trapped by his frozen cloak, can't escape Henry's fire breath. He wriggles and squirms, and at last realizes that the ONLY useful spell he can cast without free use of his arms is Misty Step.  The cloak remains standing empty as a figure appears at the center of the arena...in his underwear. With shock you recognize his face.  When you were brought to Ellantar in your youth, there was another child--a paltry few decades older than you--who was particularly arrogant and condescending, and treated your brother and sister like cockroaches. You haven't seen him for a long time, but standing before you is undeniably the odious Melvarin Pukellan, the bane of your early apprentice training.

The noise-dampening effect of the magical dome does not block the cheers of admiration at your clever use of the immovable Object spell...or the laughter.

Quentin cannot help but laugh himself at the sight. “Melvarin Pukellan I would say it’s nice to see you again but I don’t like to lie. Though I will say this underwear look suits you.” Having Henry fly up high Quentin stops his concentration on the Dragon’s Breath choosing to instead encircle Melvarian in a ring of Fire about 10 feet wide and 1 foot thick blazing all 20 feet up as he has the inside part of the ring burn.

Your childhood nemesis is fried to a crisp. The dome drops, and you can hear the cheers and shouts from the audience as the healers rush in to  put him back in working order.  Meanwhile his spooky black cloak looks on as the officiating wizard declares, "The winner and grand mage of the tournament is LORD QUENTIN ADIYODI OF ELLANTAR!"

While the actual wizards in the audience maintain a professional and reserved appearance as they politely applaud, the general audience is loud and enthusiastic in their cheering!

Mindartis looks around confused as his fury leaves him, "I... huh," he says strapping his greatsword to his back

Quentin gives a polite bow to the audience, though a smile is clear on his face, before he leaves to watch his friends and enjoy the festivities.

Elwin's lance just manages to catch on Sir Banith's shield, and shatters from the impact.  Elwin has brought the contest up to three, even! Skizzix hands you a replacement lance, calling, "That's the way, boss!" The crowd chants your name!

Sir Banith makes a perfect hit again, and Elwin finds himself dismounting the hard way once more. CRASH!  There are cheers for Sir Banith, who has won his second sortie, and groans of friendly commiseration for the young rookie. Sir Banith rides back and helps you up, saying, "Well fought, young Sir Elwin.  I will tell King Celairatar that you fought with all the honor we would expect from a knight sponsored by the Lomalos throne."

Sir Rokkeek meets you as you limp away from the field of battle. "It was very well done for your first tournament. The last match will be fought between Sir Banith and Lady Kassaria Traehearne of the Fens."

An armored knight on a tall sorrel horse with white stockings rides up. She lifts her visor, and you are surprised to recognize the lady you recently danced with at Castle Whisper...NOT the one whose foot you stepped on.

"Sir Elwin, you are a much better dancer than a jouster," she calls out, with a twinkle in her eye. "Would you do me the honor of allowing me to fight this match in your name?"

Smiling weakly, Elwin nodded. He was doing his best to not just be angry at his own limitations--he was NOT used to being in situations not of his own making--so he chose to smile at the lady, and even added, dropping his proper speech for just a bit, "Make 'em eat dirt!" With a wink, he headed off to watch the match from the stands.

With most of the games finished, the competitors and VIP guests return to the hall for dinner and the bard competition, while a buffet spread is set out under the pavilions for the masses.
