Del's song is the most popular performance so far. The adventurous spirit of the lyrics seem to fire up the Knights, and they cheer loudly and with gusto!

Sir Almeth makes a last desperate attempt to salvage his musical reputation by putting aside the bagpipes (finally) and attempting to sing a humorous song called Syvan Shillveg's Six-legged Sheep Shed, with lute accompaniment. 12 It's a huge improvement, but he stumbles over some of the tongue-twisters, and members of the audience whisper that he used to be much better, and it's sad what he's come down to.

The fools, under threat of being expelled from the dinner, attempt to engage the audience members who have finished eating in a dance, playing The Sea Slug Samba. 3 They finally manage to engage the crowd, and get some feet tapping around the tables. Some people even dance.

People give a final round of applause for the musicians!  Del has not been on his best game tonight, but judging from the competition, he figures he is in for one, if not both of the prizes when the awards ceremony is held after the meal.

Mindartis takes the first hit with a grunt and dodges the second swing. He retaliates, fury ringing in his ears as he does so.

Mindartis's first attack bounces harmlessly off Sir Rangot's armor, but the second one punches a hole right through the chestplate, and Rangot is on the brink of death. "I yield," he gasps.  The match is over and you have won.  Healers enter the arena to patch up Sir Rangot, and heal you for your next bout.  Flitterbug zips in fro, the stands and buzzes around your head. "I knew you'd win!  I knew it!"

You watch a couple other fights, and face off against one of the other victorious competitors.

On the other side of the arena is an elf with two short swords and scars on his face. He is introduced as Sir Phillarth of Lolopath. He spins his swords and smiles at you.  Roll initiative!

Oh, no...Fetherwaite lifted his lance too high and struck you in the face, injuring you for 20 points.  It is easily healed by the clerics standing by, but Sir Fetherwaite is disqualified from the match for his negligence, and ordered to improve his lance handling.  He apologizes, bowing deeply to you and assuring you it was accidental. (There are still boos from the stands.)

Sir Elwin wins his first bout!  By default, not the way he would have liked to, but it is still a win.  You go sit in the stands for a while and watch the  other jousters till a second-bracket match is ready for you.

Sir Banith Vithan rides into the lists against you! He is on a white charger, and, unlike the unwise Sir Fetherwaite, carries a shield. When the signal is given, he charges toward you!

Mindartis smirks and takes a step forward, disappearing and reappearing 30 feet closer than he was. He closes the distance and attacks again aggressively, leaving room open for easier attacks on himself.

The shocked (and disappointed) rogue is clearly over-matched and near defeat, even though he manages to evade part of the damage again.  He probably ought to yield, but can't resist taking advantage of the obvious gaps in Mindartis's defense.

Mindartis moves 40 feet forward, not quite able to reach the rogue but stays his course and readies to attack if the rouge tries to attack him. "Well come on then," Mindartis grins, "I haven't got all day."

Rogue dashes to a spot 45 feet away from you, sheathes the swords, and pulls out a bandolier of throwing daggers.

Coming up with an idea Quentin first casts Sapping Sting on the Dragonborn before giving Henry the lightning breath to zap again, all the while moving to engage in melee.

"Right," Mindartis huffs, "We're going to play this game." Even though he can't attack him, Mindartis charges at the rogue.

Seeing the javelin in Mindartis's hand, Sir Phillarth seems to wilt.  "I yield!" he says hastily. (LOL, had 4 HP left.)

As you sit in the stands to watch some of the other fighters, Flitterbug perches on your shoulder saying, "You're going to beat EVERYONE!"  As Mindartis watches the matches going on, he wonders which of the worthy fighters will be his final rival, and whether they will offer more of a challenge than the last two.

Flitterbug sighs in his ear. "All these warriors here together. It's a shame they don't just go and fight the gnolls in the north forest. But I guess it's more fun to fight each other."

(I need to roll up a more challenging enemy for your next round, will probably have to wait until I am home....though it's a quiet night at work.)
