Smiling at Gildar, he replies, "I found Lycosa in the forests of my shire, she's a natural in the trees."
Henreid makes clicking noises in a specific pattern, then pets Lycosa twice. She moves into the forest and climbs twenty feet both upward and forward of the party, scouting stealthily. "She's ready when we are."
"So whonis going tomlead the way? I will take the lead if you want since I can usually take a hit better then the rest of you." Malbor says as he stepsmforward wirh his weaponnat the ready, his eyes scanning the area around them even as Heinried sent his spider ahead. The shifter seems to be ready to rush ahead whichnin the past hemwoukd have done since he grew up hunting alone sometimes due to the rites of passage his people had.
Valar pulls out his lute and just strums it, "Ain't going to be me, I stick to the rear,"

"As you know I'm pretty sturdy, but I suppose I'll protect the rear. Saralyssa I suggest you send your familiar out Ahead from time to time to scout. Milo will circle behind."
He readies his hand crossbow as the whispering sound of wings come from Milo as he takes flight
"Certainly, if that is what you think best." Saralyssa says with a smile at the suggestion her familiar scout ahead of the group. She sends the mental command through her link to the owl, sending it that way. "No problem. I can definitely walk in the middle." She says with a shrug, taking up the requested position.
She does look around though, trying to see if she can spot any small animals, such as birds, rabbits, butterflies, etc...
"I've heard Troll tusks can be ground to a fine powder and mixed with treant bark in a hot tea to make an aphrodisiac," Henreid responds. "I've met a few treants before, I don't think I could bring myself to drink their bark, let alone grind up troll tusks. At least, I think they were treants. They certainly had humanoid features, as far as trees go. If they were, I don't know how you'd get their bark without disturbing them. I supposed they could give it to you. I wonder who was the first to try mixing troll tusks and treant bark. It doesn't seem like a natural combination, but alchemists are..."
Henreid continues babbling, talking to Talos, or Saralyssa, or Lycosa, possibly even just thinking aloud.
Malbor moved to take th front position as they move, keeping his weapon and shield at the ready. "You two talk of the strangest things.... For now focus on what we are doing. Afterwards tell me more of these strange treants..."
Moving through the swampy forest is oddly quiet now. Almost as if the second the party decided to enter the chorus of life inside the forest was silenced. The trail is narrow only wide enough for one medium size creature to walk one by one or two small to walk side by side. The ground is soft underfoot and a sucking sound meets your ears with each progressive step pulling your foot from the muck that merges together leaving no trace or track... The forest is muggy and looks never ending stretching out ahead looming in the growing darkness of evening.

Malbor will keep to the front of the group, making sure that none of the others get to far from him as they move. As before he will keep his eyes and ears at the ready incase he may be able to catch something that the rest of the group might miss. "If any of you notice something do not be afraid to point it out..."
"I will be at the back as always," Valar states as he takes a step back to allow more to move in front him.

Though still babbling, Henreid's voice is down to a whisper, his eyes and body language showing he's concentrating on his movements and the party. Henreid hangs to the back to Valar's right and 10 feet off the trail. He maintains his range to Lycosa for optimal longbow attack.
Meanwhile, Lycosa is twenty feet ahead and above Malbor, stealthily passing from tree to tree. Her eight eyes and vantage point give her oversight of the entire party.
"Fine, whatever but we can we get going then?" Valar askes

Walking for several minutes into the dark swampy forest the party is unnerved by the eerie silence but no one so much so than Henreid. As a lover of the forest and most it's creatures. He knows at twilight the place should be teaming with life. All manner of beasts and birds moving and calling to the changing evening setting in but nothing is making a sound beyond the chatter of his party, their breathing, and the foot falls into the muck.
OOC: Marching order Malbor, Gildar, Saralyssa, Henreid, Valar and then Talos.
With your dark vision and some with superior dark vision navigating in the growing darkness isn't that much of a chore. The swampy forest isn't inviting and without a trail of grease which has seen to have mixed into thw muck underfoot all of you again are glad for Henreid and his natural abilities are in your side. Having used them before you know should you fall prey to the swampy forest itself the ranger can navigate the terrain easily back to the town. A half an hour passes. The party grows bored now of the silence and scenery. Nothing seems to call out to you as a clue to where the children might be...
