The creature leaps out of the way, hisses, and then attacks the fallen Tabaxi. However, this time Shadow is ready for these foul rats as he rolls to one side and the attack completely misses him. (12 to hit [even with advantage!] is a miss)
(OOC Shadow's player seems to be MIA for now, even in my game, so I'll just post an action for Elemoth)
Seeing Shadow injured again, Elemoth decides to act before the Tabaxi is dying on the ground and extends his mace to point at the giant rat. "Aina'naur!" (Holy Fire) he unconsciously shouts in Elvish as he sends down a glowing miasma of burning energy towards the rodent.

Shadow fell the stones below his feet begin to give way, but can't manage to get a foothold as he goes tumbling into the pit. He hits the ground hard as the breath is knocked from his lungs. He slowly looks up, and his eyes meet with another cursed rat. He quickly jumps to his while drawing his sword. "Not another cursed rat!" He stabs at the rat, hoping to end this quickly.
Shadow misses the rat, but then as he stabs Elemoth releases a mote of holy fire that strikes the rat and burns it to a crisp. It seems that the rat threat has been ended. What do you all do next?
Simple Reminder on what you see before you: The narrow stairs empty into a small courtyard, apparently the top of what was once a crenelated battlement. The buried citadel has sunk so far into the earth that the battlement is now level with the surrounding floor. That floor stretches away to the north and south, composed of a layer of treacherous, crumbled masonry, which reaches to an unknown depth. To the west looms the surviving structure of what must be the Sunless Citadel. A tower stands on the west side of the courtyard. A door leads into the tower, with a now open pit in front of the door and a tiny walkway on the Western side of the pit that can be walked upon to allow entrance to the citadel. Inside of the pit itself, there are two goblin skeletons, a single fresh goblin body still wearing its equipment, and the now smitten body of a giant rat.

Torment will search around the pit and its inhabitants. (Investigation: 7), and then cast her eyes upward, "Say, can anyone give us a hand?" With or without assistance, she will then attempt to climb out. (Athletics: 5)
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry!" Marion apologizes and stands up. She then takes her rope (from the explorers pack) and uses Mage Hand to give one end to Erdot and Flame on top of the pit. "Can you tie it to something? Or just hold it, I guess."
Torment manages to notice a small coin pouch on the side of the goblin that looks like it might have something inside of it. In addition, the sword and shield that it once carried seem to be in good enough condition.
OOC: Investigation is for drawing conclusions based on clues presented to you. Perception is for noticing things. Think of it like Perception is noticing that a floor tile is miscolored, Investigation is subsequently drawing the conclusion that the floor tile is trapped and therefore could be disabled with thieves' tools.
Marion then tries to help her up out of the pit, but the attempt is unsuccessful and Torment simply slips down away from Marion's grasp, causing for Marion to reach out even further and subsequently tumble inside as they both land in a tumbled heap. Meanwhile, Shadow easily climbs out of the pit with his feline claws (Although which side).
"Yes, yes, of course." Elemoth replies to Flame with a nod. He then sets his shield down on the floor and his mace on top, and then turns help Flame hold the rope. "One at a time might be best, we can even just pull the rope up with someone hanging onto it if that's what it takes." he adds.
As you all climb out you see that you still have a bit to go, so I'm going to need one more acrobatics check from everyone. You should all know the drill at this point (I'm assuming that you're going around the pit).

Edit: Well then...
Marion will try to help Torment get out of the pit by offering a hand.

Marion is too weak. Or Torment too heavy. "Whoa..." She loses her footing and falls down onto the Tiefling.
A muffled tiefling voice comes from under the wizard, "Mrrbe thror a ropp?"
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry!" Marion apologizes and stands up. She then takes her rope (from the explorers pack) and uses Mage Hand to give one end to Erdot and Flame on top of the pit. "Can you tie it to something? Or just hold it, I guess."
"Oh! Err...one moment!" Flame shouts down as he grabs the rope and looks for something to tie it to.
Perception: 20
Unable to find something to tie the rope onto, Flame looks at Elemoth with a nervous laugh, "Mind lending some assistance?"
Shadow extends his claws and begins to climb out of the hole. "Don't worry about me, I'm okay thanks for asking!" Shadow shouts with a smile.

With the assistance, one can make a Strength (Athletics) check at advantage, the DC has also been decreased to 5, so unless you get a 0 you can retry.
