Backstory: From the time he was born Iorythas was different from his kin as he was born with a mutation. While he had similar looks to his people he had what they thought of as a flaw. He was a Yuan Ti with true emotions and a conscious. Due to this he had a hard time accepting the horrid customs of his race, being shunned and often beaten when he spoke out against this. As soon as the chance for him to escape came he fled into the jungles of Chult.
For the rest of his life the rogue Yuan Ti would never be able to explain how he survived his earliest days on his own. The time passed in a blur of hunting and learning to survive on his own. At first he used his minor magic abilities to fight off enemies but as that stopped working he turned to using rudimentary weapons such as a sling or in an emergency a clumsily made and used spear. In his desperation he slowly made his way towards a small settlement he found, using a small cloth to hide his face a none saw his snake like features.
In a stroke of great fortune, Iorythas soon met a company of mercenaries that came from Faeraun. They were out of the city of Helmsport, working on clearing out hostile Flora and Fauna as well as scouting out the dangerous jungle of Chult. Since he knew the area around the village, Iorythas offered up his services as a guide. In exchange for this he was given proper equipment and lessons on how to better make his way in the wilds. His teacher in this was a half elven ranger that could only pass on certain knowledge that did not invovled his nature magic due to it being hard to use outside of his Homeland.
Soon enough he became part of the group and spent several years with them, becoming a full memeber of the group. Eventually they were given a job explore old ruins and came across his people who tried to kill them all on sight. After several harsh fights the group managed to kill the evil Yuan Ti. This le them on to a plot where they ended up exploring a place called the Tomb of the Nine God's. Iorythas would rather forget what he saw inside the tomb, losing many friends as they went deeper in. Here he met his own end when he was killed by the evil Lich Acererak, taking a Finger of Death spell that had been aimed at his last surviving friend who would deal the final blow to the Lich.
(I played this character in a slightly Homebrew version of Tomb of Annihilation and this is what ended up actually happening while at lvl 20. If I need to add anything else let me know.)
@DragonDenn, If I buy barding for my found steed would you allow it to come and go with conjuration? I'm trying to spend the money wisely and this seems like a reasonable place to use it but if it is lost the first time I lose the steed then it doesn't seem worth it. Thoughts? (I would only use it for barding, I would exploit the concept for other items etc..)

Khalin Gool is a mad, but not drooling ( he would never drool) necromancer who is chaotic neutral and afflicted by an accidental link with otherworldly Old One. He is interested in just what death is, and that, one could say was his last battle. He was attempting to merge the corpses of an Ogre Magi and a Hafling thief (he caught him trying to steal his ring - more on that in a moment. Just as he was casting the spell to animate the two corpses a lightening bolt struck him dead. You see he, in a fit of desperation, tried to use the energies of a thunder and lightening storm to boost the power of the spell. It not only killed him, the Old One was really unhappy to have been deprived of it's 'toy'. Perhaps he was not always as mad as 'now', what ever that means to him, but he very definitely has a few broken springs.
As a wizard in training he became fascinated with how things died and thus his 'career' took off. He became a reclusive outcast from most human forms of social interaction so obsessed was by what lay beyond the veils of death.
The ring the that brought the thief to his horrible fate was a Ring of Regeneration, which might have something to do with what will befall him next.

Name: De'ran D'ran
Race: Wood elf
Class(es):Druid (Circle of the Moon)
Background: Hermit
Backstory:From a predominantly matriarchal society that was cast out of Elven Port in the Tall Tree Area of the High Forest by a powerful group of daemonfey. De’ran left the shelter of the High Forest to travel the larger towns and cities. Always an outcast in these settings, De'ran has found himself as a scout and guide for many warring parties and has traveled much of the lands of Faerun. Through his years on the road, he has encountered many types of beast, celestials, fey undead etc. The one last battle that cost him his life was a battle against a Dracolich he had stumbled across in the High Forest, his former home. Always having the memory of his childhood home taken from him, he returned only to find the area overtaken by this dracolich and was defeated in a valiant effort.
Background: Bjorn is from a long line of respected leaders. His soldiers have the upmost respect for him because he is always first into the battle. His skill with a sword is only second to his ability to wrestle.
Backstory: Bjorn is the king of a pivotal trading town located at the mouth of a river that opens out onto a large sea. He is known for being a fair ruler, but also for his short temper. You don't want to be on the wrong side of Bjorn.
Backstory: Dorno was always a lovable firbolg from his tribe deep in the wood. Possessing the mind of a child, he was never a great hunter, leader or warrior within the tribe. A lover of the forrest and its other inhabitants, Dorno often asked Silvanus, the god of nature, to let him just be like the animals and run off with them to play and not be afraid any more. As he discovered the magic of the wood and his own place in it, he was granted his wish. Despite his growing magic under the guidance of the 'Oak Father', Dorno's pure heart never changed. One day his tribe was stricken with illness and it was up to Dorno, the unlikely hero, to go out into the world and find help. This led to many grand adventures where Dorno made many new friends despite being afraid of the outside world. He used his magic and many animal forms to hide when he needed to, and to defend his new friends when he felt that he must. Although he often returned to the wood for long stretches of time, Dorno would always come to help others when called.
Death: After hundreds of years of sometimes living with the animals in the wood and others going on grand adventures to help his many friends in the civilized world, Dorno was summoned to defend others one last time. A tarrasque had risen and destroyed two coastal cities before Dorno arrived. The druid joined a host of spellcasters and other heroes and took the brunt of the gargantuan monster's wrath via his many bestial forms. Eventually the tarrasque was still putting too many lives at risk and Dorno used a form beyond his normal limits, that of a massive dragon turtle, to drag the tarrasque into the depths of the ocean. Neither was ever seen again, and many people shed a tear over the loss of their lovable defender.
