"Right you are Parker! Sharp as a tack this one." I'll point playfully at Parker. Then looking toward Uncle and Harper, "Shall we head to one of our other safehouses then?" I then pause for a moment and then turn to Neris and Parker, "Or do one of you know somewhere near here we can talk privately?"
Growing a bit impatient with everyone’s silence “There’s a place over in heap side or I know a place outside the city. We really shouldn’t be standing here in a group like this.” I’ll wait a few minutes for a reply and then start heading home.
Deciding that staying in the street was not safe, and without any secure hideout nearby, you instead disperse, returning to your respective quarters to go on with your cover identities, until the next regularly scheduled meeting, giving you enough time to properly secure a location. For Uncle, Parker and Shades however, the question of what to do about Magnus was becoming pressing, because they only had a couple more hours to decide on a path of action before the deal tonight would happen. Terin and Neris on the other hand should start to think about ways to ensure safe passage for the goods of their patron.

Parker, something about the documents that Magnus had asked for strikes you as odd: Access papers to the Upper city, a forged letter of ownership of a trading barge, as well as a confirmation of the Duty station, and the standard set of fake documents needed for a new identity. On their own, each one of them could make sense, and had there not been doubts about him paying you, it would likely not have bothered you further, but in combination and particularly after finding out that the trading barge was just a day before swarming with guards only really left a handful of possibilities. Together with the attempt to support the druid and his followers in the city park with weapons, it could be that Magnus was a coordinator of resistance cells and efforts thoughout the city, and that the trading barge was going to be used to move either people or goods into and out of the city. Access to the Upper city might be necessary for that, and confirmations from the duty station would mean that the ship wouldn't be controlled. The new identity made sense too, since that would make other ownership documents easier to come by. On the face of it that made sense, but Magnus didn't seem to be a figure that tried to go by unnoticed, and enough people would know him to make a fake identity likely of little use. Additionally, Uncle had found out that Magnus had had several run ins with the guard, and either he was one cold fish who never arouse more suspicions and was repeatedly let go, or... Struck by a sudden flash of inspiration, you consolt the code legal of Borogorod.
In the past, you tried to avoid doing so, since knowing the exact consequences of ones actions could act as a strong dampener of spirits. Nevertheless, you notice that the falsification of acess papers, or records of ownership and duty papers, even the forgery of identification all bears sentences of a few years of hard labour or a year's service in a penal battallion at most. However, taken in their sum, the courts would find it just as easily to construct a narrative of an operation to support resistance activity, once they found records of all those papers, and it would be a very difficult thing indeed to convince them of his innocence. Now, Magnus couldn't know that Parker knew of the weapons shipment deal, and while it was possible that that was another resistance activity he tried to coordinate, viewed from the perspective of a sting operation, the delivery of prohibited weapons would enable the Fist to arrest several of the group on charges of treason and support for the resistance, and to top it all off, the revelation in the press that the "peaceful protesters in the park" were receiving weapons clandestinely would do wonders to legitimise military action against them.
Of course, this was still speculation, and he lacked hard evidence, but the hypothesis should at least be tested before going off to trade on his behalf tonight.

On my way back to Sow’s Foot I’ll stop by the Stubborn Mule to see if Magnus is there. Stepping inside I’ll walk to an open seat at the bar and have a seat waiting for the barkeep to come over.
The Stubborn Mule is almost empty, and Magnus is not present. You also noticed that the mercenaries from before are no longer near the slaughter house. Seeing you approach, the barkeep gives you a nod: "Are ye here ta drink? Or d'ya have some questions?" He plopped a moist tankard that he was wiping down in front of Dart, ready to fill it up, should the halfling ask for ale in the early afternoon.

"Yeah, nothin' unusual about it... In fact, it's nice after the last couple of days, what with 'em herders and guards here at all hours, makin' a ruckus.
