"Secret doors! Fascinating! And how did you find this one exactly? Was there some ancient writing perhaps? Maybe a hidden switch?" Kwisatz asks, too excited for the situation.
((What were the star things on the sides of the door leading in?))
Dazlyn says, "To find that door, we had to look real close at the wall. We found the slightest hint of a crack and then, right next to it, there was a button that was also very hidden. The button was only about the size of a dwarf's thumb. No text or clues or anything like that."
((Those things with stars were the statues of the dwarves with an evil grin on their faces.))
Andrømeda doesn't see anything of note in here except that it's going to be getting real dark real soon. She knows that as soon as the party moves past this foyer, she won't be able to see anymore.
Sael squints into the dimness of the foyer, puts her hand on the hilt of her sword and nudges Andrømeda with her shoulder. She looks up at her, and then back at the rest of the party, and says "Let's do this."

Rush moves up and taps Sael on the shoulder. Sael turns around and Rush asks to change positions with her. When in position, while touching the outside of his shield, he whispers his incantation and after just a moment, light splashes the shadows in front of the party. The light inside of the temple will now be considered "dim". Those with darkvision will be able to see as if it were normal lighting, and those without will be able to see, now. The good news is that Andrømeda and Rush will now be able to see. The bad news is that Andrømeda and Rush will be at a disadvantage on perception rolls while in the temple. The rest of the party sees as if it were normal lighting and will not be at a disadvantage for perception rolls.

With Rush's shield alight, the party cautiously moves forward.
I added a transparent white circle to indicate the range on Rush's light cantrip. Outside of that circle and inside of the temple, it will be "dark".
Dazlyn pipes up, "This room is as far into the temple as we could get before being attacked by those jelly creatures. Knowing the followers of Abbathor and their greedy hoarding ways, we know there have to be more secrets to uncover."
Perception rolls for moving into a new room:
Kwisatz: 4 (using investigation instead, which would have added 5 instead of 3, making this roll a 19) - looking for secret doors
Based on these rolls, three things happen at the same time. First of all, Kwisatz finds a secret door in the northern wall, hits the button in his excitement at having found it, while at the same time exclaiming, "Look! I found a door!"
Second, and simultaneously, both Norbus and Dazlyn yell out, "Jelly!!" while pointing their finger in the direction of the bloodstained limestone altar at the far end of the temple.
The party, except for Kwiz, looks in the direction that the dwarves are pointing and you see this amorphous, large, jelly-like creature hanging down from the ceiling above the altar. It's essentially dripping down onto the altar and then onto the ground. If it had a face, it would be looking right at Rush and Andrømeda.
Third, while Oban is distracted by the yelling dwarves and looking towards the altar, a second jelly descends right in front of him and attacks him.
Jelly 2 attack vs Oban: Attack: 7 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Ochre Jelly
Everyone rolls initative:
Andrømeda: 13
Kwisatz: 20
Oban: 6
Rush: 14
Sael: 10
Dazlyn: 15
Norbus: 8
Ochre Jelly 1: 5 *
Ochre Jelly 2: 5*
*I had forgotten to add in Dazlyn and Norbus. So, I edited the post to go back and add them, and it changed the rolls for the jellies. I just changed it back to what it was originally, but now the post notes that the rolls have been manipulated.
When the second jelly lowers from the ceiling near the south wall and attacks Oban, it lashes out with an extension of itself and bludgeons Oban, quite hard. Oban doubles over in pain.

Looking into the room Kwisatz exclaims "Look!" to the group, and turning sees the party start to scramble as the Oozes come out from the walls he suddenly yelps out in surprise as he catapults ((at level 2)), some of the rubble around him towards #1. Fortunately he knew it would hit as it rolled a 7 ((portent)) so takes 12 damage. Kwisatz then uses his movement to head back towards the door, putting the group between himself and the jellies.
The rubble hits the jelly and gelatinous gore explodes around the room against the impact, then reforms. If it had a face, it might be making an angry scowl in Kwiz's direction.
Rush speaks his incantation, and motions his hands, and a trident appears next to Jelly #1, slashing down with the imbued force of purpose, dealing 10 damage to the jelly. Again, the jelly seems to explode against the force, and then reform afterward.
Jelly #1 WIS save: 15
The bell tolls near it, but the jelly wasn't affected.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sael is going to use some of her movement to move up to Jelly #2 and attack it with her longsword.
Attack: 15 Damage: 10
Sael swings her sword with both hands, landing the attack. Her sword cuts right through the middle of the jelly creature, making a clanging sound against the stone floor. As she pulls her sword back to the ready position, she notices that the jelly reformed, but instead of reconstituting as one whole creature, there are now two jellies where there used to be one. These two jellies are smaller than the original. ((Sael and Oban, since he would see this, estimate them to be medium creatures, now.))
Having just been attacked, even before Sael swooped in to slash at his attacker, Oban was already readying his shortswords to attempt a dual-weapon counter-attack.
Now that the jellies have split, #2 is slightly closer to Sael, and #3 is now closer to Oban.
Oban will use his attack action to swing at jelly #3 and then his bonus action to swing his second sword at it.
Attack 1: 23 Damage: 10
Attack 2: 19 Damage: 10
In a flurry of swords, Oban connects with the jelly on both of his attacks, criss-crossing as they go through the gelatinous ooze, spraying gore all over the southern wall of the temple, as well as all over his own face and body.
Jelly #3 does not reform. It appears to be vanquished.
Next up is Dazlyn.
Dazlyn screams, turns completely around and runs back in the direction you all came from, brushing Kwisatz's shoulder as he goes. You don't see where he runs off to.
Andrømeda, seeing her ally being struck, is consumed with rage. Seeing that Sael and Oban seem to be handling things, she snarls like an animal and charges at Jelly #1 taking her greataxe and swinging it upward from her right to left. Attack: 16 Damage: 12
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you think my puns are bad, I'll remind you, my profile pic says otherwise.
Andrømeda's greataxe slashes into the jelly creature in an upward, diagonal motion. The force of the swing cuts the jelly in half, this jelly now also becoming two.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Norbus, without making a noise other than a grunt, turns around to follow his business partner. He disappears back in the direction that you all came from.
The jelly lashes out with a piece of itself that formed into a blunt, whip-like appendage, but didn't have enough strength behind it to do any damage to Andrømeda.
"Secret doors! Fascinating! And how did you find this one exactly? Was there some ancient writing perhaps? Maybe a hidden switch?" Kwisatz asks, too excited for the situation.
