Nyx lands a solid blow in Round 7! And then a sneaky attack in Round 8, sliding her dagger into the spider part, before fancy footworking her way back around the corner.
Whistler rushes over and carves a piece off of the thing with his greatsword.
Lyngheid misses with her Spiritual Weapon, and then gets halfway down the rope on the eastern side.
Baeshra flanked the creature and lands two Dino-attacks!
Ireniana sends another arrow at the creature, but it misses again!
Umbriel tries to scrape it off the wall with an Eldritch Blast, but the magical burst smashes into the ceiling above it!
The creature, under a renewed onslaught, hisses in Elvish "There's a lot of you. We'll be eating good for weeks!" and suddenly a veil of inky black darkness chases the light out from around the creature. Baeshra and Whistler, you hear a scurrying sound. (Take an Attack of Opportunity at Disadvantage because you can't see the target).
Whistler's AoO: 15, Disadvantage: 19. Whistler swings wildly into the darkness but comes up with nothing but air.
Rosie steps forward, casts Light on a pebble and throws it into the darkness. The light follows the pebble as it arcs down the hallway and then appears to get sucked up by the sphere of magical dark.
Droop runs up to Whistler, and tries to see through the inky blackness, but can't. "Baeshra??" he questions softly.
Umbriel will run up due north, ending at the wall between Lyngheid and Droop. "Do you suppose this is the Black Spider we've come to find?" he'll ask Lyngheid. "If so, we can't let it escape!" He then sends an Eldritch Blast into what he thinks is the middle of the sphere of darkness. Attack: 10 Damage: 5
(The spell doesn't say I have to see a target, but I'm rolling with disadvantage anyway, just to be on the safe side. If I miss, and I use my inspiration, is that just a second roll with disadvantage, or is it just a single roll and that's that?)

(If you are aiming for the large man spider, then use disadvantage. If you are just aiming a point within the darkness, no disadvantage and the roll will determine if you hit that spot you were aiming at).
So with your roll of 10, you hit what you intended, the middle of the sphere of darkness, no problem. However you don't hear the satisfying, wet, thunk that you normally hear when an Eldritch Blast connects with a creature.
Baeshra would try to get a hold of the creature with his jaws as it tries to flee.
Replacing attack with grapple attempt: 3 (Or not...)
On his turn, Baeshra would cautiously advance, up to 20 feet to try and get through, if he doesn't he'll dash and retreat back down the stairs, if so, action will depend on what he sees.
"The Black Spider, makes sense but then I thought something like that would have had a cooler title. Soooo.... we following into darkness and an inevitable trap?"

Survival check for Baeshra to see how much movement it takes him to get out of the Darkness: 15
Not bad. After only a couple of steps you emerge from the darkness and see another flight of steps, with the Man-Spider on the wall at the top of the steps. As you climb the steps, you can see the hallway extending beyond the creature and it looks like it may open into another room.
If he moved 20 feet towards it, it needs a dc 12 str saving throw or fall prone and I get a free attack. If not, Baeshra’s jaws are hungry for spider. (Hungry jaws)
The creature uses his Longsword to swing hard at you from the side of the wall: 7, and it pierces into your Dino-skin for 10 piercing damage. It follows this up by trying to bite you: 19, but luckily it misses! It swings the Longsword one more time before scurrying off: 7, and this attack lands! 4 piercing damage. The creature keeps going down the hallway and then disappears out of view to the north.
Droop runs back over to the rope to Help Lyngheid up.
Summary: - Baeshra takes 17 piercing damage and gets an Attack of Opportunity.
The Party is up for Round 10 (Nyx, Round 9). Lyingheid is at the bottom of the east rope. With Droop's help pulling up the rope, just her movement will get her up with the rest of the party.
Hearing Baeshra's roar, Umbriel will run forward thirty feet west and stop in the corner, then use his action to dash 15 feet due south and stop when he gets to the wall, and hold there.

That works. You have a slight moment of panic as you go through the magical darkness, but you quickly come out the other side, having had a chance to get your bearings in the little corner of the hallway just outside the reach of the dark.

Ireniana will fire another arrow.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

Sorry man, sure thing!
Whistler made it up last turn. So for Round 7 he'll run over and swing for the fences!
Attack: 20. Damage: 7. THat was Round 8 I mean.
Round 8:
Nyx lands a solid blow in Round 7! And then a sneaky attack in Round 8, sliding her dagger into the spider part, before fancy footworking her way back around the corner.

The party is up for Round 9 (Nyx Round 8). Baeshra, you are surrounded by darkness, you can't see, but you can hear.
Irenaina will ready an action for this round. If she sees the creature, she will fire another arrow.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

(haha, so it is. Technically still between Lyngheid and Droop, but yes, I meant the spot between Rosie and Droop.)
Having little other option Lyngheid continued her climb down and moved across to start climbing up.
Nyx just waits, looking back at the others.

You have 5 feet of movement and your action left.
Baeshra will continue to attack his new enemy, giving a roarscream to encourage his allies to follow carefully.

Even your Bless Bonus wouldn't help those rolls!
