A still pool fills much of this cavern. The water is dark, revealing little of what might lie within. The shore of the pool consists of a thin layer of broken shells from strange, pale mussels, and a fishy odor hangs in the air.
When you go down the stairs and stand on the ledge next to the pool you can see a passage leading south from this cavern. A stream flows out of the pool to the northeast.
Baeshra, the water is a little fishy smelling, but I think you like that, don't you?
You find that the pool is 20 feet deep in the middle, and the stream to the northeast is 3 feet deep, with the ceiling 2 to 3 feet above the stream.
About 10 feet off the southern shore you find an old skeleton lying on the bottom, under 10 feet of water. Thanks to your hold breath feature, you have no trouble exploring the skeleton. It is the remains of a human, and a wizard by the looks of it. There are still several orc arrows lodged in the skeleton's rib cage.
You find two platinum rings (75 GP each) on his fingers, and his right hand clutches a wand of some sort.
Baeshra continues to swim for a bit before retrieving the items and returning to shore, “This feels better! You northern folk do not get to spend enough time in the water, perhaps thats why your skin is so soft? Anyway, I found these on a dead softskin down there, probably a wizard of some sort, seemed to have been many of them here.” And yes, although he is clean of the spiders scent and webs, he does now smell strongly of fish, which he enjoys, but his companions may have different tastes.
Umbriel will use his Eldritch Sight and verify that the wand is magical, and to see if the rings are, before suggesting that the group continues on. Southward?

The wand is magical! The rings are just fine platinum.
The party travels about 30 feet down the southward tunnel before they can see that it starts branching off into more passageways.
This part of the mine/cave seems older than even the rest. And the tunnels are less well-carved hallways, and more short and quick mining tunnels, with ceilings only 6 feet tall.
Another 20 feet south and a tunnel T's off to the west, while this one continues south.
Baeshra is having to stoop more than slightly to avoid banging his head, and he's not too happy about it, so do either of the tunnels, west or south, have higher ceilings?
After having been underground for so long, Umbriel wants to sneak down and see into that chamber to the west.

Baeshra stealth: 22
Seeing the pool, Baeshra wastes no time in diving in to clean off the webs and lingering poison off of himself.

Ireniana shrugs and walks around the edge of the water before turning to the rest of the group. "Looks like there's nothing else in this room."
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

Droop licks his lips and watches the water closely, trying to find any sign of fish.

Sadly, he doesn't see any, so he lowers his bow and puts the arrow back in his quiver.

No, all of these tunnels in the area are the same height, roughly 6 feet.
Baeshra will just be grumbling in the back of the group then, following wherever they lead.
Lyngheid is having no problems in the lower tunnels and pokes her head around the corner to look down the west one.
It goes about 10 feet west, and then does a 90 degree turn and heads back up north.
"We'd best be careful," Umbriel whispers. "It's exactly times like this something large and ill-tempered decides to leap out and try to eat us."
" You mean Baeshra?"
Whistler snorts.
