Alton slides the 20ft down the ladder and moves up behind Swin. Looking into the room he focuses on a spot next to the brigand he says, "I think a little bit of fire could lighten up this fight." and casts faerie fire.
Movement: Moves 20ft down the ladder and the remaining 10ft to get behind Swin. Action: Casts faerie fire next to Brigand 2 to catch Brigand 2, Brigand 3, Fighter 3, and Fighter 2. DC 15 Dex save, or become outlined in a green flame-like light.

Fighter 3 saves, the others fail - see the green dots on the map.
Kef gasps in surprise, but takes aim with his crossbow directly at Fighter 2. He shoots - straight through one eye, killing the man instantly. (He got a nat20, thanks to the advantage from Faerie Fire). He grins at Alton, and then remembers he's still in a fight and looks warily at the remaining opponents, moving behind Darren for cover.
Round Two: Balassar Fighters 1 and 3 Brigands 2 and 3 Darren and Swin Alton and Kef
As this round starts, you all hear, coming it seems from down a long corridor. To Alton and Balassar it sounds like a hunting call; Darren and Swin would recognise it instantly as Rhane.
"You all messed with the wrong lot." Balassar says as he just takes a deep breath and swings at the two fighters. He then just braces himself for the coming onslaught of attacks.
OOC: Bonus Action: Second Wind for 12 (7+5)
Attack on Fighter 1: 22 (15+7) for 7 Damage Attack on Fighter 3: 17 (10+7) for 5 Damage, Giant's strength bonus: 4
Two very effective slices; both Fighter 1 and Fighter 3 are looking very badly hurt.
Fighters 1 and 2 attack Balassar, once again co-ordinating their mace blows with evident skill: Fighter 1: 24 against AC (nat 20) for 7 points of bludgeoning damage 12 against AC, misses Fighter 2: 20 against AC, misses 24 against AC (nat 20) for 7 points of bludgeoning damage
Brigands 2 and 3 are attacking the magic users, clearly unnerved to see magic being used against them Brigand 2 shoots a crossbow bolt at Swin: 19 against AC for 2 points of piercing damage Brigand 3 shoots at Alton: 6 against AC, misses
Darren is up. Not Swin, not yet. Brigands 2 and 3 have Faerie Fire, and the Fighters have both taken a lot of damage.
(Not sure if thirty feet of movement is enough to get behind fighter 1 for advantage. But that is what I would like to do. If it’s not possible then I’ll attack fighter 3)
Darren rushes into the room to help Balassar and attacks one of the fighters. (To hit: 13 for 9 slashing. (If I get advantage for flanking fighter 1 that’s 17 to hit))
You have enough movement to get there, yes. And your strike is enough to bring Fighter 1, already badly wounded, down at last.
Two more fighters rush out from one of the two doors in the southern wall of this area, maces at the ready. Fighter 4 runs to attack Balassar, weapon clanging loudly but harmlessly against his armour (20 against AC and 14 against AC).
Fighter 5 dodges round the table to attack Darren: 18 against AC for 6 bludgeoning damage if it hits, and 12 against AC which misses.
Swin is up. There are two new combatants, plus Brigand 2 and 3 who remain under the effects of Faerie Fire.
Swin's mage armor and bladesong allow her to bat the crossbow out of her path, even without any cover provided by the doorframe.
She moves forward, next to Balassar, angling herself just to be able to get as many baddies in a 15 foot cone and avoid her friends. She casts frost fingers at second level, 8 cold damage on a failed CON 16 save, half on a success, to all within that 15 foot cone, which seems like everyone but brigand 3?
She then bonus action hidden steps, disappearing from view.
Darren uses his reaction to shield himself from the new combatants. Hoping there aren’t more ready to join the fray. Though he suspects there likely is. (Ac of 19 until start of my next turn)
Swin's spell takes out two of the badly-wounded enemies, as Brigand 2 and Fighter 3 find the blood freezing as it pours from their wounds, and then freezing their whole bodies in place. Swin then vanishes.
Two more brigands, crossbows in their arms, emerge from a door and shoot, one each towards Darren (11 against AC) and Balassar (22 against AC, hitting for 7 points of piercing damage).
"Really, more of them? This is getting ridiculous." Alton moves up five feet to where Swin was at and, looking into the room, says, "Looks like the new guards fell into a burning ring of fire." He casts faerie fire in the middle of the guards to try and coat them in some green flames.
Movement: Moves up 5ft into the corner against the door. Action: Casts faerie fire in the center of the guards to catch Fighter 4 & 5, Brigand 3, 4, & 5; DC15 Dex save or be coated in a harmless green fire. For the duration, objects and affected creatures shed dim light in a 10-foot radius. Any attack roll against an affected creature or object has advantage if the attacker can see it, and the affected creature or object can't benefit from being invisible.

The faerie fire disappears from Brigand 3 for a second, before it reappears around him and also around Fighters 4 and 5. The other two brigands made their saving throws.
Kef shoots a crossbow at Brigand 4, doing 7 points of piercing damage.
Balassar takes a 5ft step to the right putting himself between fighter 4 and 5 and swings his blade at each. He then quickly grabs a potion on his belt and downs it.
OOC:
movement: 5ft to right placing himself between 4 & 5
attack against 4: 26 (19+7) for 8 damage and 3 damage from Giants Strength
Darren continues fighting the opponent ahead of him. Looking for an opening to strike (18 to hit. 3 slashing) “You guys could just surrender. Leave and stop harassing helpless people.” He settles back into a defensive posture after his attack.
Darren, your attacks succeeds, and both these two newly-arrived fighters are already looking pretty hurt.
Fighter 5 attacks Darren, 18 against AC for 3 points of bludgeoning damage (if that hits).
Fighter 4 attacks Balassar, 7 against AC and misses.
Swin is up. Swin, you would just about be able to see, down the corridor, another Fighter approaching, and a familiar figure darting out behind him to attack.
(Thanks! I'll own the mistake. But if I can swap it, I'll swap for Melf's minute meteors)
So we'll retcon to say Swin descends the ladder, still engages bladesong with BA, then casts scorching ray at fighters 1, 2, and 3:
Attack 1: 22 Damage: 8
Attack 2: 19 Damage: 4
Attack 3: 17 Damage: 10
Then she stops at the same spot, opposite Darren, getting some cover.
Those all hit.

Alton and Kef are up.

Round Three:

Balassar
Brigand 3
Darren and ???
Fighters 4 and 5

Brigands 4 and 5, and ???
Alton and Kef
Balassar is up.
(Green dot means Faerie Fire)
Balassar takes a 5ft step to the right putting himself between fighter 4 and 5 and swings his blade at each. He then quickly grabs a potion on his belt and downs it.
OOC:
movement: 5ft to right placing himself between 4 & 5
attack against 4: 26 (19+7) for 8 damage and 3 damage from Giants Strength
attack against 5: 24 (17+7) for 7 damage
bonus action: takes healing potion for 10 (4+2+4)
Both attacks hit.

Brigand 3 backs up and shoots at Balassar as he retreats: 14 against AC, missing of course.
Darren is up.
Darren continues fighting the opponent ahead of him. Looking for an opening to strike (18 to hit. 3 slashing) “You guys could just surrender. Leave and stop harassing helpless people.” He settles back into a defensive posture after his attack.

The attack against Darren connects he’s distracted by Swin popping back into existence. (For that’s what I assume she is about to do)
