Now in an open location, T'yeeno is less tense, yet he chooses to often stray from the group. He does not buy any items during their supply purchasing, opting only to have a glance over at the options before retreating to the back of the group once finished.
T'yeeno goes on his own, naturally taking cover in areas that seem to be well-hidden, approaching at a separate pace from the group itself. He makes his sounds scarce, but does not actively try to disappear from the group's sight. T'yeeno would probably have seen the camp site first, taking his own time to investigate while the rest catch up only seconds after.
((T'yeeno would have probably be a good distance from the group proper, say, 30 feet from the group in radius, and 20 feet ahead. The group can obviously hear him though as he does an abysmal job at trying to stealth))
The group scans over the campsite, checking for information. In not much time at all, a few members of the party notice that there were 3 people camped here perhaps 2 or maybe 3 nights ago (at least one of them was Gordi, based on a few items Benwick told you to look for in identifying Gordi and his work in the Fens.
There was a struggle or fight, with barefoot footprints with claws among them (at least 3 different sets of clawed prints), and the campers were drug off to the south.
T'yeeno and Obelysk both point out the footprints look like lizardmen, which frequent the fens and swamps, but usually do not venture this far north towards the keep.
Looking to the south, the fens get more swampy, but a few hillocks can be seen within a few miles.
"Seems like we head south." Melady would say with a nod in that direction. "I'll scout ahead, come quick if you hear me shout though..." She gives a side-ways smirk, then heads out in front of the group. She would plan on being 60 to 100 feet out in front of the rest.
Hatch didn't like the idea of the scout running that far off ahead, but figured he didn't have much say in the matter. He followed south, hoping they could catch up before anything happened to Gordi, or worse the lizardmen joined a larger group and poses a greater threat to the party.
Melady has some trouble following the tracks, but is able to pick them back up not so long afterwards, it appears the creatures whose footprints these are were not trying to hide their tracks much, if at all.
after about an hour of criss-crossing through the fens, and heading generally south, Melady comes upon an area that appears to be more land, and less fen marshy swamp, and some wifts of smoke are seen. She thinks she sees movement, and hears things, but from her distance, and hidden area behind some shrubs, she cant be sure what any of it is, or is being said.
what would you like to do?
1. approach to get a better visual and be able to hear what is being said (stealth, potentially followed by perception)
2. wait for your party to show up and make decisions from there?
Zeril, are you still flying, if so, at what altitude, and if not, then where are you in relation to the group? (since you mentioned it, can you come up with a rough spacing/marching order, so i can post it on the beginning of the thread?)
Zeril is flying between 150-200 feet above the party (depending on thermals), in a slow circle around the marching group. Close enough that he can easily enter normal range for the longbow he has in his hands in a moments notice. He keeps his eyes peeled for anything that might be dangerous to the group, in particular when he is on the porion of his loop that covers the sides and back, where no one is actively scouting.
Perception: 19
OOC: I assume the marching order is something like this: Melady ---40-80 ft---- Tyeeno ---20 ft---Hatch - Obelysk (W/ Trixy) - Zeril (150-200 ft above, slow circle counterclockwise roughly 40-50 feet diameter) (Did I miss anyone who is currently active??)
Other than following the tracks, I am mostly enjoying Trixy's playing, not bothering to hide my loud stomping. "Little One, what do you know of these 'lizardmen' we are hunting for?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

He continues a solid pace behind Melady, crouching in an attempt not to have himself seen by less-than-needed hostility, and it comes retroactively to him anyway.
Question for everyone - is it possible to change your login (by your avatar) to be your character? so that when i look at it, i dont talk about Karieth (user login avatar), and instead talk about Zeril (character)?
Zeril sees Melady stop and start sneaking forward through the brush towards a small area out of the waters.
Melady pauses, sneaks forwards (in the lower left portion of the map, hidden among the brush of Area B), and tries to get a better look at what is going on. She spots a sunken area, with a pit that darkens below. She also spots 3 different creatures, though she cannot make out what they are saying, and the few words she does hear, she doesnt understand. (Melady, i see you understand and speak common, thieves cant and elvish)
Redolent with the smell of swamp and the smoke of a small fire (to the lower right of the pit, in the black area). Near the fire is a pile of furs and a hole in the floor. 2 reptilian humanoids , with yellow-green scales and a net and spear rests there, and another that looks more like a large lizard on all 4s. one of the reptilians is larger than the other.
(please do not worry about any of the words on the map, finding and being able to copy/paste a map into this is still a learning curve for me, so i have yet to figure out how to upload a map of my own, with tokens etc.)
(It can be done, but it requires asking permission from the developers and there is a forum for name-changes if you wish to do so. I will not, since I am in many games and like my user name as it is.)
Melady would move back to the others to give them this information.
As Melady walks back, T'yeeno follows suit aswell. It is clear that his attempts of blending into the swamp were in vain, the blue, crimson-tipped feathers giving away his position. Nonetheless, he makes an effort to double-back to the group as well.
Upon hearing Melady's description, the Kenku does an audible sigh, leading to reply to her directly, "What do you think we should do then? I've never encountered these "reptilian" people before." His voice shifts back to that of an elven accent; the tone seemingly to indicate that he has little experience with what Melady described.

What kind of roll should I do to see what I know about lizardmen?

found this, and will be using it, also adding it to the main thread post at the top, so everyone has it going forwards
So in this case, History check to know about Lizardmen
