The roll has both advantage and disadvantage which cancel each other out: disadvantage from not being able to see the toad and advantage from the toad not being able to see you. So make another attack roll normally to see if you hit.

Ulben's stick cracks the toad across its head, leaving it looking dazed, bruised, and worn.
Anakis' frost ray hits Torrent's toad dead on, and the sounds of its clawing become more deliberate and staggered as it works against its frozen muscles.
Fluin continues to work himself into a blind rage, pulling one of his handaxes from his belt with his off-hand and focusing on it as he holds it aloft. "I Really. Don't. Like. Toads!" he yells and attempts to skewer the toad in front of him with his sword.
Attack: 17 Damage: 8
Torrent's toad scrambles out of its burrow and leaps 10 feet away from Torrent towards the eaves of the wood. Not being able to see the toad, he has no opportunity to make an attack against it as it crashes through the tangled vines and underbrush . It jumps again, reaching the edge of the trees, 25 feet away, and begins to emerge into the open.
The toad next to it on the end of the line near Anakis and Torrent seems interested in Tarek's javelin which landed next to it. It sniffs the javelin hungrily, waiting to see if it takes flight again.
The toad on the other end, recovering from its surprise, emerges from its burrow and hears the sound of Ulben's stumbling in the undergrowth. It takes a step forward and decides to see what he tastes like.
Bite: 23
Meanwhile, the toad that Ulben and Aluzira are fighting, eager to be rid of its tormentors, turns its head and tries to take a bite out of Aluzira.
Having felt the sting of Fluin's blade, Fluin's toad takes off in the opposite direction, leaping deeper into the redwoods, passing by Torrent on his left. It misses its landing in the tangled brush, however, and falls with a splat on its grotesque belly, its legs splayed widely round it. Scrambling awkwardly to its feet, it makes another short hop through the wood and is now 20 feet farther into the wood than Torrent and Anakis.
The toad trying to bite Aluzira comes up short, unable to turn its head far enough to reach her.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After watching the fire fizzle, Torrent will chase his toad (full movement to the toad). "Not today, friend!" He yells out. Torrent casts Thorn Whip on this toad, wondering why he can't aim the blasted thing.
Attack: 12 Damage: 1
(That's second time that exact roll has happened. The dice roller hates me)
Torrent, you're 10 feet from your toad and 5 feet from the one that's sniffing Tarek's javelin which you're passing to your right. Also, I just realized that because you can now see the toad as it emerges from the dense wood, your attack has advantage, so make another attack roll to see if this one hits.
Tarek, you see a toad breaking through the line of the trees about 45 feet ahead of you and to your left. It looks like it's planning on continuing to flee across the marshy ground. The wood in front of you is filled with the sounds of your friends fighting the toads. Directly ahead of you about 75 feet, you can see the tops of the trees waving and hear the crashing sounds of one of the monstrous creatures fleeing in that direction as well.
Aluzira, the two toads seem determined to take a bite out of you and Ulben, who's right beside you.
Aluzira swings her daggers at the same toad she struck earlier before turning to Ulben, "Head for the edge of the woods," she says quickly, backing up towards the treeline just within melee range of the toads. "I can try to turn one friendly, but we need to lure it out first."
So when Ulben was hitting the road he was swinging his stick wildly left to right and then back after the second swing he spins all the way around and stumbles forward a step as the toad trys to bit him. He then turns back around face to face with the toad and says "I'm not even cooked, and I have no meat, you don't want to eat me." (He is stuttering in fear think like the Lion in wizard of Oz any time he is talking whole afraid.
Torrent's whip is aimed true at the toad, but it darts out of the way to avoid its thorns.
Aluzira, your first swing hits the toad, but the confining branches of the wood interfere with your second swing, causing it to miss.
By "melee range", do you mean the distance from which you can close and attack in one round (20 feet in this situation)? If so, I think I mistook one of your earlier declarations for wanting to remain 5 feet from the toad. In which case, please accept my apologies.
The edge of the wood is about 15 feet away from you Aluzira, behind you and to your right, where it borders on the icy pool, off the surface of which you can see the sunlight glittering. Do you wish to head in that direction or behind you where the wood borders on the marshy field, which is a little over 20 feet away?
(No worries! I did mean to stay 5 feet from the toad. I'm still getting used to mechanics and forgot to consider my movement into the range lol. In this case though, she will take the 20 feet since she's trying to draw the toad out.)
Aluzira will back away towards the icy pool, so if the toad follows, it doesn't get targeted since she said she would charm the one closest to the ice.
Okay, so you've backed directly away from the toad that just tried to bite you, Aluzira, and you're within closing range of both toads, just inside the wood where it borders on the frozen pool. To emerge into the open (where you'll be able to see things) without stepping into the icy water, you'll need to move at least another 15 feet along the edge of the wood.
Tarek, it's still your turn.
Also, Ulben, both toads are within reach, the one that just stepped up to bite you and the other which, although badly beaten, seems fixated on Aluzira.
By the end of your turn, Tarek, you've come up alongside the edge of the wood, and the toad is 15 feet ahead of you where you can see it coming out into the open space.
What does Ulben do, in danger of being eaten alive by two toads?
Anakis, the situation around you has become quite chaotic. Ahead of you 15 feet, a toad is still investigating Tarek's javelin next to where you lit your fire with Torrent passing it on the left. The fleeing toad you shot with your cold-beam is beyond them, which you can see emerging into full daylight. Away to your left, two other toads are menacing Ulben, while over your left shoulder, the toad that's leaping away from Fluin is now 20 feet away from you, heading deeper into the woods. What do you do?
Anakis looks back and forth between the two fleeing toads. They were her responsibility - don't let them get away!
(Is the one Fluin has been fighting within clear view? Anakis knows that the one fleeing her and Torrent is not hurt much, she would assume that the other fleeing toad may have been hit more. There are two courses of action here - depending on how visible Fluin's toad is...)
If Fluin's toad is visible and clear shot - Ray of Frost on it;
Else, she will use the same spell on the toad fleeing her and Torrent (as I'm guessing it's coming into a clearer view emerging into the daylight).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ulben freaking out over the toads will spintspin trying to run, when doing so he over spins cracking one of the toads with his stick, then continues to spin until he hits the other toad. (Unarmed strike for flavor.)
Ulben's stick first hits the toad fixated on Aluzira, which moves as though it's on its last legs, then hits the toad that just tried to bite him.
Anakis, Fluin's toad is heavily obscured by dense foliage and is not visible. It is, however, a clear shot. Ray of frost does not require that you can see your target.
Torrent's toad is visible (at least, at the moment, its front end is), giving you advantage on the attack. It has 3/4 cover due to being on the other side of Torrent and the toad he's next to, however, so not a clear shot without movement of some kind on your part.
Also, I realize that an RPG is an information poor environment in which to make decisions, which is why I endeavor to provide as much pertinent information up front as seems necessary. Questions that clarify anything about the environment that I haven't covered are welcome. I would prefer, however, that if some part of your action is conditioned on information that you don't currently have because it needs clarification, that you hold off on making any attack rolls until you have committed to a specific target. As the above situation illustrates, making such a decision after the roll has already been made subjects it to "metagame" considerations that I'd rather not have as a factor, in an effort to provide a better gaming experience for all.
Sorry for the interruption, however, and I realize I'm the one putting this decision back in front of you, Anakis, because I think it's only fair given the additional information I've provided.
The roll has both advantage and disadvantage which cancel each other out: disadvantage from not being able to see the toad and advantage from the toad not being able to see you. So make another attack roll normally to see if you hit.
(Ah, no worries)
