Sounds good. I need Toc to say ok, or to have something more he wishes to check out wit the two newcomers. I’ll plan on moving things forward, one way or the other, in the morning.
Late in the afternoon of the day you spend in Daggerford you notice something. A group of 5 mercenaries has just ridden into town, and they wear the symbol of your old mercenary company. You recall, back in Baldur's Gate, learning that the company had reformed in Waterdeep. This looks like a small squad that would normally be sent out to do a small-scale mission of some sort.
Ensuring he didn't have any marks showing, Germain would move over to them, "Excuse me, sorry to interrupt, but I'd thought that company was disbanded after a disaster up north. Do you mind if I ask who started it back up, and when? I knew some of the old members."
The mercenaries give Germain a nod of greeting. "As to who started the company back up, that would be Morgan Amcathra, of House Amcathra of Waterdeep." He looks you over a bit closer. "You look like you could handle yourself, mayhaps you should check with the Company HQ in Waterdeep and see if they would hire you on."
"Stop messing around." The squad's captain calls over to the one speaking with Germain. "We are already late, and we don't want this Thorne fellow to leave without us, as that would mean no pay and a long ride back to Waterdeep. I don't think you want to explain to the Captain how come we were running late either, do you?"
The man speaking with Germain gives him a friendly nod, then trots off after his squad.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Germain nods and makes a note of the name, wishing them luck as they head off. After they leave, he tries to think about what he might know about the name.
History: 14
(Apparently names are weird this far south and he must have misheard them)
Even with his lack of knowledge, Germai would still know the name, maybe not Morgan, but his family name is well enough known around the area to ring a bell. They are likele one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, house in all of Waterdeep.
Germain will rejoin his client, and spend some time thinking about this turn of events. He plans to visit this lord when he gets a chance, but isn't sure how he should go about introducing himself.
Germain That evening the mercenary you spoke to comes up to your campfire. "Wow, finding you was not as easy as one would think." The man says as he gives Germain, and Germain's employer a nod. He turns back to Germain. "My squad isn't leaving until morning, which makes sense, as that wizard likely doesn't wish to camp out on the road any longer than he has to." He gives Germain a knowing smile, clearly believing Germain to hold the same belief of the softness of wizardly sorts. "Regardless, I saw you were interested in my company, so I thought I'd give you something that would let them who be at the HQ know someone sent you on to them." He pulls a badge out of his pocket, the same badge Germain has hidden under his cloth. This badge is a different color though, which Germain would know it as a token that can be passed on to show you are being given a good word by another member of the company.
“Just to be straight with em.” The man says, getting up and susting off his britches. He gives Germain a nod before he glances off towards the tavern the wizard is staying at. “I best get back, we are on strict orders not to stray far from the tavern, this squad leader is a real by-the-books fellow, but otherwise he is a good enough guy.” He gives Germain a final glance, then strides off.
”I know of those ones.” Germain’s lawyer employr says as the mercenary leaves. “You’ve been a good bodyguard on this trip, I would put in a good word for you as well, if you wished it.”
Germain shrugs, "I wouldn't say no, but I'd like to get to know them a little before signing up. In any case, I'll focus on finishing this job before worrying about the next."
After another night of rest the caravan prepares to head out of Daggerford. Master Thorne is spotted, with a group of mercenaries, heading to the East at some point in the mornings preparations.
Soon the caravan is moving again, heading out of Daggerford, for the last long stretch towards Waterdeep. It is still several days of travel to go, so you all get back into your routine.
Everyone I need either an Insight or Deception check (your choice.) Only use deception if you have prof in it though.

Naroth is good to move on.
Good to go.

(Sorry, haven't been feeling too well the past couple days....)
Toc is fine moving ahead! He'll just cast detect magic and check out the two new folks with that as best he can. Then good to go!
What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer?
Class.
Neither has anything magical on them.
