Toc, Naroth, and Ulrik notice... that the gnome (Gleamsilver) shows an interest in you all. She has spoken to several of you, asking innocuous questions and commenting on the weather. She leaves the impression of being someone who flawlessly takes in every detail about people and her surroundings.
Tavial notices the same. She also notices the gnome who recently joined the caravan (Gleamsilver) shows an interest in the human who joined at the same time (Jos) and who was welcomed aboard one of the cult wagons as a passenger. They aren’t together, but during stops, the gnome often sidles up near enough to overhear anything the human might say, and she has also been spotted hovering near the cult wagons when the cultists are busy with tasks other than guarding the wagons closely. Taviel also has the impression that Gleamsilver is aware of the you all watching her, too.
Who would blame guards of the caravan that suffered through several assassination attacks for the vigilance? Taviel informed others about her observations and continued watching newcomers. For now just waiting results of Ulric's investigation.
Naroth just takes note of the new strangers and continues to keep an eye on the cultist wagons and for any other evil creatures attempting to sneak up on the caravan.
"Who is Jos?" Gleamsilver asks Ulric. "Oh, you mean the human with those wagons there?" She nods towards the cult wagons. "Can't say I know them really at all, why do you ask?" You can give me an insight check if you want to see how truthful she is being.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ulric Insight 16
"Just curious. I noticed you speak with him and thought you might know him from elsewhere. I don't suppose he mentioned anything about those wagons, what they are transporting or the company the guards are? We've had some....issues, with that lot. Recent assassination attempt by a member of their party who suddenly disappeared."
As they continue to travel, Germain would make a casual effort to invite Jos to join him and his client at the campfire, just being friendly, no probing questions or anything.
Continuing along... You travel through the day, and into the next.
After a miserably wet, cold day that promises to become an even wetter, freezing night, the caravan arrives at a large inn. Upon entering the warm, comfortable common room to make arrangements for the night, the embarrassed innkeeper tells you that the entire inn is sold out; all the private rooms are taken and the common room is reserved for a private party. The caravan will need to spend the night outside. Looking around the room, you see just one group: an aristocratic judge and his entourage of three human dilettantes. They smirk at you while making comments such as “sleep tight” and “have a pleasant evening” followed by insults muttered under their breath about your mud-spattered clothing and low breeding.
Spending this night in the wagons will be hard on the characters but will be misery for the unprotected horses and mules, and the only reason for it is the cruelty and arrogance of these snickering twits in the inn.
It could not be the first cold day of the endless journey and if a beast of burden gets "miserable" after spending a night outside the stable, it deserves to be put down - the long traveling caravans is no place for weak animals. But so far caravan managed through the areas without inns for days around, so, there was nothing to worry about. Taviel did not plan to leave her wagon anyway - as she did not do since the assassination attempts.
Naroth's scowl deepens as he then walks over to the table with the judge, leans down into this face, "Careful friend, you have no idea who you are talking to." Then he grabs his drink, downs it and walks away.
Ulric chuckles at Naroth's display, "Perhaps they will even learn from this encounter, though that is unlikely. In my experience, the "well to-do" stopped learning to be decent long ago."
He follows Naroth out the door. Another hard night outside is nothing new for Ulric. He's dealt with this type of entitled scum before.
The dandies seem more amused by Naroth's display than anything. "Go on, get out in the muck where you belong." One of them says he waves Naroth away. Another one glances to the cup Naroth drank from. "Best move to a different table, pretty sure we don't want to risk catching whatever that curr might have..." They all laugh and get up, moving to a new table and waving for more drinks.
The weather has changed for the worse only recently. Up till this point days have been chilly, but this is freezing rain and sleet, not the weather the caravan has been use to up till this point.

Germain notices none of the above.
The next time Ulric finds Gleamsilver nearby he would ask,
"What brings you to this caravan? How do you find things?"
Who would blame guards of the caravan that suffered through several assassination attacks for the vigilance? Taviel informed others about her observations and continued watching newcomers. For now just waiting results of Ulric's investigation.

Gleamsilver looks up at Ulric as he speaks to her. "How do i find things?" She asks with a bemused smile. "I find things lovely, why do you ask?"
Ulric glances toward the cultist wagons, "lovely is certainly one way to put things."
"How well do you know Jos? As a guard in this caravan I try and get an idea of everyone who will be with us."
Naroth just takes note of the new strangers and continues to keep an eye on the cultist wagons and for any other evil creatures attempting to sneak up on the caravan.

"Can't say I have spoken to him at all really." Gleamsilver says with a shrug. She gives a curtsy to Ulric and then flounces away.
Ulric Would think she is telling the truth.
Ulric shrugs and mutters, "An interesting little gnome."
OOC (Well, kinda struck out there on the information gathering plan.)
As they continue to travel, Germain would make a casual effort to invite Jos to join him and his client at the campfire, just being friendly, no probing questions or anything.
Jos completely snubs any offer Germain makes.
