Toc begins putting in the effort as well...and uses his view from the sky to try and choose the easiest / shortest route out of the spontaneous mushroom patch.
Everyone involved in this process must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw. Failure means the character is overcome with feelings of grief and remorse, seemingly triggered by hearing thousands of tiny cries of pain and death groans but which is in fact the result of inhaling mildly toxic spores released by the immature fungi. Affected characters break down after 1d20 minutes and simply can’t face those sounds anymore. They have nightmares for days to come, until the toxin is completely out of their system.
No having knowledge of it will not help with the saves. It is a toxin, so knowing about a poison won't make you less likely to be affected by it.
Germain cannot add to the effort after 14 minutes of work, unable to face the mushrooms and their shrieks of pain.
If anyone fails the save, please roll the 1d20 to see how long you are able to add to the effort.
Naroth grits his teeth and thinks of anything else but the screams he hears but after awhile he pictures his enemies falling before him and he smiles as he continues to clear the spores.
Ulric places a cloth over his face in hopes of keeping the spores out. He grits his teeth and narrows his eyes as he works hoping the process goes quickly.
After two hours of sweeping the mushrooms off the road, the group is able to move on ahead, out of them. (If anyone said they were getting samples, you can have those no problems.)
The caravan travels only a bit further, everyone ready for a stop and rest after the mushrooms. The night passes uneventfully though and you are soon to the next morning.
As you get ready to move out, Naroth spots something laying discarded on the ground of the camping area. it draws his attention, due to looking familiar. Approaching he finds a small totem laying on the ground. Stopping dead in his tracks he wouldn't be able to believe his eyes, how did this get here... It is a totem that he recognizes without question. There is only one place this could have come from, as it is the totem of his own tribe.
Naroth gasps and quickly moves over and hesitantly picks up the totem then frantically looks around the area desperately searching for who might have dropped it. Questioning anyone around if they had seen anyone or anything in the area that might explain how it got there.
Survival: 10
He then moves off to stand against a tree with his back to the caravan staring up at the sky for several moments his shoulder slumped. Then his back straightens and he assume his position as guard once more a grim determination on his face that is frightening to look at.
Naroth startles and looks around, then actually hears Toc's voice, "Fine, I am fine, found something from my past on the road that should not be here. Has me a bit rattled on what it might mean." Then with a coldness Toc has not heard form Naroth, "And I can't wait to find the thing that dropped it."
With the amount of traffic, from the caravan setting out, Naroth does not find any signs of who might have left it. It is clearly from someone in this caravan though, as it was on top of some of the earlier tracks from when you arrived. Those you ask do not seem to know what you are talking about, though they look at the totem when you show it to them.
You can give me an insight check if you want to look for someone attempting to not give them self away.
Distraught still etched on his body, Naroth glances about the caravan once more, Someone, someone hear knows about my family and village, if it is the last thing I do, I will find them, and I will get my answers.
He continues to glance sideways at the wagons who he thinks are working with the Dragon Cult, his eyes smouldering with hatred.
The caravan continues on its way North. Naroth is distracted as you continue to move along, and gets concerned looks from several other caravan travelers as they see he is upset.
You reach one of the wayside hostels that evening, and the caravan sets up outside of it. Most of the caravan travelers stay in the hostel for the night, as the wagons are all parked in a log-walled courtyard attached to the hostel.
Let me know if you stay in the hostel, or with the wagons. If in the hostel do you have a private room, a shared room, or sleep in the common area?
Also give me a perception roll just for the fun of it...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Private or not, that cheap fleahouses did not look attractive to Taviel in any way. Familiar wagon with tolerable faces were better. And someone has to keep an eye on the goods too (she was still a hireling officially).

As Naroth asks around, Toc stays nearby, listening in on conversations, and carefully studying the folks as they respond. (Can I HELP Naroth?)

Do the cultists stay in the hostel?
Some you suspect of being cultists do, but they do not leave their wagons unguarded.
Toc stays in a private room as usual. Perception : 21
