"There is nothing we could have done to prevent Orvex from leaving," Nenne says regretfully with a compassionate nod toward Allister. "Not without paying too high a price. As for the Yuan-Ti, if they are engaging the Red Wizards, I frankly welcome their belligerence. It draws attention away from us. For now, let's set our minds to the task at hand and leave this place with something to show for our efforts. We can worry, speculate, and plan later."
She shades her eyes and lobs a sharp glance into the temple. "The cube is not far. Within teleport range. Should we attempt to extract it from a distance first, as we did at Moa's shrine?"
Allister grabs his rope, ties it around his waist and steps into the pool. "I´m getting the key. take the rope, just in case there is another surprise in the water."
The stones are slippery and the pool is foul, but Allister manages to climb up and take the key. Luckily it was still in the frog's mouth after all the splashing the huge frog creature was doing.
After he gets the key Allister looks for a big piece of debris. He ties the rope around it, gets out of the pool and helps the others pulling the debris out. They drag it to the edge of the pit in the shrine.
As Allister handles the cube, Lemon leans towards Nenne and says, "The "walkin' sin" lady ye mentioned? She sounds not too perty (pretty)." He leans away and straightens himself. "Good idea though! Make a deal with 'er, leave to get stronger, then come back an' bite 'er in the ol' chops!"
Allister tries to find anything that makes it difficult or impossible to navigate through the pit to the other side. Since he sees nothing he tied the rope around his waist and hands it to Nenne. „Hold on to this please, I will get across to the dais.“ He takes a couple of pitons and a hammer from his pack, after that he is lowered into the pit. He makes his way to the other side, once there he hammers to pitons into the walls of the pit and climbs up.
As Allister makes his way across to the other side of the shrine, Sthara will quietly watch to see if the pit changes in any way (Perception or Investigation: 16).
Allister hops onto the first of many wooden beams radiating around the room. The task is not too difficult, but the position is precarious being on a six inch beam that only protrudes from the wall a meer 16 inches. Aside from the frog carvings that cover the room, the fighter finds nothing of note.
Allister cautiously hops to the next beam in line and a noise behind him causes him to turn back. The previous beam has retracted to be flush with the wall.
Allister leaps to the next beam, but doesn't quite land his foot correctly. The warrior falls into the pit, but still has the presence of mind to turn himself so that he doesn't impale himself on any of the spikes below. With a sickening thud, he connects with the floor in an odd shape. The breath is blasted out of his lungs and the world spins briefly (11 damage).
Allister gets back on his feet and brushes dirt off his clothes. „I’m okay, just another bruise on my ribs.“ He looks to beams. „Well, guess I have to start over.“ He gets back to the 3dge of the pit, climbs up and jumps on the first beam on the other side.
Nenne, whose hands are a little raw from rope burn after Allister's fall caught her unawares, gazes thoughtfully at the mural in the back of the chamber and recalls aloud, "The inscription on the door said to tread without fear. Walk swiftly, warrior. And do not take the cube without exchanging something of equal weight."
While Allister climbs back out the pit, Boosey takes one of the cubes and begins to fill an empty bag with sand. It takes him a little time to get the two items to a similar weight, and he shapes the bag as best he can into something resembling a cube.
He ties the bag off securely and tightly so there is no movement of the sand inside. Once that’s done he attempts to throw it across the pit to Allister.
Allister picks up the bag of sand that lands near him. He puts it on the pedestal and uses it to push the cube aside, making sure that he doesn’t put too much or too little pressure on the part where he suspects a hidden mechanism to be.
Allister finds no mechanism but decides to leave the bag of sand anyway. He lowers himself back into the pit and climbs back out the other side. The party exits the shrine seemingly without injury.
"Well," says Nenne with a sigh of relief, "that was enough excitement for one day, in my opinion. What say you about returning to camp and strategizing where we go next, as well as what we are going to do about these Red Wizards?"

Made you look.
With the help of the group Allister pushes the debris into the pit.
The debris crashes down noisily among the spikes, but nothing otherwise changes.

„There is no key hole here. Can you look around on the walls?“

„Oh shit. I think I have to hurry.“ Allister grabs two of the pitons, ready to jab them into the wall and jumps to the next beam.
