The cleric's expression grows momentarily haunted before souring. "There is nothing in the tapestry room beside the carnivorous boar head on the wall," she says darkly. "I won't risk losing anyone else to it on the slight possibility we find a secret tunnel."
She points to the new orbs Allister found in the chest. "We have four of those, now, and potentially six more to find if they are keys to unlocking that mirror door yonder," she jams a thumb in its direction. "We also have the water-laden hallway with the trident. Those seem more productive to me than returning upstairs."
"Water-laden hallway you say?" Lo's head takes a slow turn to look at Boosey and Glimbul. After a short pause he responds, "I know a way to get two on the other side." He then looks at Nenne and Allister. "And I don't think there will be a problem with the you two."
„Hey big guy, what about the dwarves? Are you saying there are dwarves here that create golems?“ He looks at the group. „We need to find out where they create them. I don’t want to look under a helmet and look into Orvex‘s face.“
Nenne grows pale at Allister's words and slowly shakes her head in horror. "No. No," she says, half-pleading. "That would be just too cruel. Too cruel."
Pondering what a Orvex may be, Lo responds to Allister, "I do not remember the amount of dwarves. All I remember was being restrained by a spell, then they began covering me with clay. If I have to guess, any covered with clay might have to be living for the clay to animate. If you speak of someone dead, I believe it to be unlikely to find them here."
"Please, let us not speak of the dead, at least until we have completed our mission in this place. Then we can remember them properly." He seems lost in his thought for a moment. "Maybe we should collect all the items before we go back to the mirror. The hall of water, if Lo knows how to pass through, might be the place to start. We should still investigate where that figure disappeared, though." He gives Nenne a thin smile. "Worry not, I have no intention of going back in that horrific room, if there are secrets to be found in there they are welcome to stay undiscovered."
The party signals to Glimbul and manages to convince him to turn the other statue. One by one, everyone is teleported outside the pit and introductions and conversation summaries made. Before setting off to their next destination, Nenne shoves aside the terrible images in her head and approaches the fighter.
"I saw what that creature did to you. We cannot afford you to be so weakened. I am going to attempt the strongest healing magic I can. It may not work, but now is the best chance we have of trying."
She takes his necrotic arm in one hand, makes a sign in the air with the other, and then places her free hand over his heart. A pulse of burgundy magic radiates through the air like a heartbeat as she casts Greater Restoration.
Nenne doesn't need Allister to confirm that her spell did nothing to soothe his affliction - she can see it for herself in the wounds. When he does confirm the unfortunate news, it stings the cleric more than she expected. This place, this damned place, is widdling the heroes down literally bit by bit.
While it confirms a suspicion that Boosey had, the failure of Nenne's spell leaves the gnome feeling a little numb. "Still, I may be able to help a little," he says, and casts enhance ability on Allister, Nenne, Lo and himself giving each Bear's Endurance. "That should help us if we meet anything else as nasty as that golem," he says. "Sorry Glimbul, but I could only cover four of us with that. I would have included you if I could. I'm sorry," he finishes lamely.
Once everyone is situated, Lo is guided by the team to where the water hallway is located. His eyes scan the room as he realizes they weren't exaggerating. "Let me throw one of my javelins through the curtain. If it passes through, I assume it'll be safe to cross. However, if it does not and something is set off... at least we know." Lo, stepping 15ft from the curtain, brings forth a javelin with a hand. Raising the spear-like weapon, Lo takes in a large breath, takes a step forward, and heaves the weapon with all of his strength.
The javelin passes through the curtain to land in the puddle on the opposite side. It can be seen over there lying on the floor. It appears these two sides are simply exact replicas.
Looking at the statues as Lo steps forth to cross the curtain of water, He stops and looks to one of the statues with a trident. Taking a firm grasp of it in one hand, he pulls it out. He continues along his path once more, without turning back to his team, and passes through the barrier.
"Well that was unnervingly anticlimactic," the cleric admits, casting Boosey a worried look. "Either you were correct, or we have not triggered whatever peril this hall has."
"Yet," the gnome says in answer to Nenne. "Erm...." Boosey says. "Eh, there was only the one trident. We need to get that one back from Lo." He shouts. "Lo. If you can hear me, throw that thing back through the water, or none of us will be able to pass through."
Looking at the trident then to Boosey, Lo hops the trident carefully in his hands and tests its durability. Knowing it could possibly break, Lo sets the trident on the ground, and pushes it across the curtain to the gnome. "Pass through the water carefully. When you pass it back, push it along the ground just as I have. This weapon is sure to break soon if thrown."
"Well, who's next?" asks Boosey, picking up the trident. Seeing that he is holding the weapon anyway, he passes through the water, then returns the trident the same way
With the crawl way next to him, Boosey slips in to investigate. It doesn't take long before he reappears and says, "it just leads to a dead end fifty feet in, after a turn. Didn't find anything." He shrugs, "seems a bit out of place here, a random dead end?"

Lo passes through the curtain of water, coming out the other side drenched, but otherwise unharmed.
"Well that was unnervingly anticlimactic," the cleric admits, casting Boosey a worried look. "Either you were correct, or we have not triggered whatever peril this hall has."

One by one, the party passes through using the trident. Soon enough, everyone is on the north side of the curtain.
With the crawl way next to him, Boosey slips in to investigate. It doesn't take long before he reappears and says, "it just leads to a dead end fifty feet in, after a turn. Didn't find anything." He shrugs, "seems a bit out of place here, a random dead end?"
