Unfortunately, the assassin gets away, tumbling out of view. He didn't leave any tracks. Panting heavily, Klaus follows last. "Did he get away? Bollocks. Come on, we've got to at least finish the mission!"
THE APPROACH
You can get a partial view of the camp from the ridge down to the base of the peaks, where the camp is set up outside a cave, but in order to get a better look you'll have to get closer. Here's the mechanics.
The camp is about 30 yards away and the slop is steep and overgrown with bushes. You'll need to sneak towards the camp in three, methodical stages and must succeed at a series of Stealth Tests to avoid getting unnerved during the approach.
30 YARDS OUT Each character must attempt an (Easy +20%) Stealth Test. Success means you manage to be sneaky and not alert anyone. If you fail, you suffer 1d10+1 Peril. Then, make a (Hard -20%) Awareness Test.
20 YARDS OUT Each character must attempt an (Routine +10%) Stealth Test. Success means you manage to be sneaky and not alert anyone. If you fail, you suffer 1d10+1 Peril. Then, make a (Challenging -10%) Awareness Test.
10 YARDS OUT Each character must attempt a final (Standard +/-0%) Stealth Test. Success means you manage to be sneaky and not alert anyone. If you fail, you suffer 1d10+1 Peril. Then, make a (Standard +/-0%) Awareness Test.
Here's a nice little template for me to make my life easy. Isn't that nice? Just copy and paste it and make your rolls on the right lines. Thanks.

You are nearly there. Just 10 yards from the camp. You can hear voices. Humanoid voices.
Each of you please make one (Standard -/+0) Eavesdrop Test.
It's time to do what you came here for, even if it cost Maximilian's son's life - whom someone will have to report.

There are about five humanoid creatures that, at best, look like very large upright pale humanoid pigs - emphasis with leaning heavily on the more humanoid side for they look more like man than pig, but the features are definitely there - and about fifteen small greenish goblin looking creatures as well. They are all packing up equipment, eating, or patrolling around the camp. The goblin looking creatures are being ordered around by the pig men and are extremely disciplined - divided into small groups. Three additional figures are standing around a cauldron: a older human woman, a young adult human woman, and a massive pig man. The two women have red paint marks going down their face, like tribal marks. The older woman is giving orders to the goblin creatures, who some of them, at the moment, are taking turns getting food from the cauldron. "Mum and her lovely stew.." some of the goblins say as they eat.
The older woman is speaking in Common. As the camp talks among themselves, you can easily make out the positions of the pig men and the goblin creatures. Overall, the camp is eating, and the pig men are giving patrol orders and duties to the goblinoids. The older woman and the younger woman are wearing what appears to be the same kind of talisman around their neck - a jewel of some sort.
Wren quickly grabs Asa by the shoulder to stop her from moving forward. "Maybe not that time,"He says, then looks to the others. "Perhaps... we try and speak with that older woman?"

Pauladean whispers: “We are vastly outnumbered here! I, for one, didn’t sign up for suicide. I’m with Asa...we’re merely scouts here...let’s go fill in Maximilian of what we found here.”
"Hmm, but if we leave with nothing to show, then my nephew's death will have been for nothing, and we still know next to nothing of his assassin." He steeples his fingers in thought. "We still need to know who is leading these Mutants - why they call the older woman their 'mother' and why the great big one doesn't simply eat them outright. Perhaps it is something to do with those talisman's? I realize that we aren't here to die, and I have no intention of doing so today, but perhaps if we were able to steal one of them, we might give the town some means of protection from this band, as well as whatever other groups of the foul creatures might be roving in other nearby woods. Anybody have suggestions on how we might do that? I have one idea, but it involves me doing a lot of talking and a rather low probability of survival, so I'd love to have some other options. Oh, and that reminds me, if we head back tonight, we really ought to go pick up my nephew's body. I would see him properly buried, as would his father."
Pauladean: "Perhaps we wait until nightfall and stealthily raid them when they're sleeping? Sneak in, grab the old woman, and sneak out .... alerting no one?"

No, the bride token was the hemp shipment from the attacked caravan that was ransacked a few days ago.
Asa will pull out her sword and start heading towards the encampment. "I guess it's that time again." She says in a soft voice.
