Tessa looks about at the gathered forces, she approaches Sylcan, Vilana and any of the other Dragonlords close by. Tessa says, "The Ice Floe be the safest bet for travelling North, regardless of who be capraining her. I suggest we await the outcome of the owners decision and arrange to secure their aid on our voyage. I also need to relay our findings to the Harbor Master. Leto can assist me in that endeavor if he doesn't mind."
Vilana looks at the assembled Dragonlords. "I'm just trying to make up my mind whether it'd be better to cocentrate our forces when heading north, or whether that's a typical case of putting all our eggs in one basket... At any rate, trying to find another ship might take longer than we have, and the captain is going to be needed in either case. Tessa, anything I could help with?"

"I'd say the Ice Floe is our best bet for getting north." Kierro says."And for that, we'd have to have the captain back. Perhaps there's a way we can come to her defense, or at least help her get through the system faster."
Before she leaves Morgana says... "I'd suggest you let it be." She shrugs. "Mutanies happen fairly often, and there is a standard approach to them. If the first mate can prove she was in the right to do what she did, then she will be just fine. if she cannot, then there is nothing you can do to help her anyway."
"We might be able to grease some palms, if that gets us closer to where we need to be."

"I mean," Naivara says, "there's nothing wrong with taking a little break I think. We've spent all this time running around. Maybe we should take a step back for a moment and just relax?"
"Naivara, no offense, but I only just got my memories back. I don't like not knowing what else is out there, what parts of my past I'm still missing. The things I do know? I liked my old life, and I want to do whatever possible to get back to it, the sooner the better. Surely you're not too keen on spending more time than necessary with the likes of Tessa and Leto?"

Tessa looks about at the gathered forces, she approaches Sylcan, Vilana and any of the other Dragonlords close by. I suggest we await the outcome of the owners decision and arrange to secure their aid on our voyage. I also need to relay our findings to the Harbor Master. Leto can assist me in that endeavor if he doesn't mind."
Raven on his shoulder Leto looks down to Tessa, raises an eyebrow, clearly curious that the little one who had attacked him only a week or so past was now specifically asking for his help. ((Insight 24)) Assuming he doesn’t believe any malicious intent he will reply “Considering it was I, and Mylene of course, though she needs her beauty sleep it seems, who dealt with the bird folk, it only makes sense for me to join and report.”
Looking to the rest of the group he adds “I see no reason to hire a second ship. Though previously there were concerns of traveling with some of our Honor Guard. Will that be an issue?”
"It shouldn't be much of one for me personally. I do remember some of the gauntlet members voicing concern about being on the same ship as the dragon, though, so the dragon would either fly along the coastline or the gauntlet members wouldn't come." Kierro says.
Waiting to see if there is any further discussion on this, then will move along to tessa and Leto with the harbor master.
Those who want to get an idea of the time the issue with the Ice Floe first mate might take, can go with Tessa and Leto, as the Harbor Master might be your best bet to find out that information. The gauntlet members are gone now.
The docks of Neverwinter are a bustling hub of activity. Many ships are docked in the expansive harbor, loading, unloading, or waiting for their next job. A diverse mix of races walks the peer, hulking goliaths, slender elves, beings with wings, others with fins, and a variety of more abundant races like humans, gnomes, and others.
Along the side of the peer, away from the harbor, there are hawkers crying out their wares, fresh fish, the best weapons in Neverwinter, gemstones, books, and a variety of other food and goods that cater to sailors. There are also many pubs, taverns, and other areas were drinks and good times can be bought.
As you disembark from the Ice Floe the day is warming up, but still in the low 70s. Clouds pass by overhead, pushed slowly by a light breeze.
The walk to the harbor master's office is short, though you sometimes need to push your way through the throng of people walking the peer as they go about their normal business. When you approach the office you find several sailors leaving it, they give you a wary look, but continue on their way. The door to the office opens with a jangle of metal, a variety of fishing tackle hung from the door to rattle against each other as it is opened or closed.
"Ah, the group looking into the issues of ship traffic." The harbor master says, eyes glancing up and spotting Tessa. "Do you have good news for me?"
Tessa flashes a dazzling smile at the Harbor Master. She says, “Oh aye. We discovered the nature of the problem indeed. There be a group of folks that be claiming that bit of shoreline and accompanying waterway as their own. We thought it be best for an official response from the city be warranted, then from the likes of us. Aye! Perhaps an acoord could be reached between the two parties; but again that be for another soul, not a scallywag such as meself or me crew. Surely you be seeing the value in such worthies other us working towards that endeavor?"
The harbor master frowns. "What did you learn about these individuals?" He asks, glancing between those in the room. "Where are they located, how many of them are there, what affiliations do they have, anything else you might have been able to learn as you looked into it?"
Tessa unceremoniously elbows Leto in the thigh as he stands next to her. The strength of the diminutive halfling lass is far greater then one might expect given her small stature. She smiles once more at the Harbor Master and says, “Me crew mate here be the one who dealt with them mostly. Suren he can enlighten ye on the particulars. Aye!" Tessa looks expectantly at Leto.
As the Harbor Master speaks, Leto is watching him closely trying to get a read on him to see if he can learn anything interesting about his personality ((insight 23)). Once Tessa nudges him, he replies “When my companions and I approached we were greeting by a small number of bird-folk living in the caves, and maybe the tower nearby, informing us that we were not to pass without a fight. They claim the area for their god.” Waving his hand in a dismissive gesture. “There are likely <<conservative estimate>> living in the area. Once we were warned that we would not be able to pass, we decided it was not worth the conflict, so went around. It’s very likely that any ships that have been attacked there have been the provocateurs, as we were given very clear warning not to pass through, but that going around would not offend them.”
As Leto finishes his statement, Tessa chimes back in. "Being not from these parts ourselves, we did not wish to pursue the matter further. We thought it best to return with the information as this group of birdmen may be a village that the city wishes to establish trade with or to stamp out completely; whichever the city leaders prefer. But definitely outside the scope of responsibilities of sword swingers such as ourselves. Aye?” Tessa flashes her dazzling smile at the Harbor Master. The act of ingratiating herself to this civil servant peon is grating to say the least, when a well placed dagger would end the need for the ruse; but she strives to keep an accord with the group at large and holds her darker impulses in check. It is exhausting though...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Tessa speaks, Leto nods along, willing to help in the persuasion, or deception if possible. ((and just for fun... can I read Tessa’s desire to stab the dude rather than talk? Insight 26))
"By tower do you mean the old lighthouse?" The harbor master asks with a frown. "Did not realize anyone was using the old lighthouse..." He shrugs though. "Very well, I'll let the city leaders know of what you found out." he sits back in his chair. "Anything else I can help you with?"
