After exchanging pleasantries with Nova and some banter with Velda, Gert runs off into the thicket after one of the goblins running it through with his blade as it falls to the ground with a satisfying thud. Velda seeing Gert's success, charges toward the last remaining goblin with similar results.
With the battle in the goblin blind now complete. What would you like to do now?
Cadence does a pirouette, spinning casually on one toe in the soft loam, while simultaneously sheathing both her blades. She looks up at the leaves of the tree above her, breathing in the forest scent deeply with a smile. Before skipping back up to the mouth of the cave and sitting down cross legged in the grass. She listens intently to the sounds both inside and outside the cave.
Listening carefully to the sounds of the cave you hear the gurgling of the stream as it flows down the steepness of the cave. Not dissimilar to a babbling brook. You also hear the sounds of wild animals from inside the cave. With the echo's from the caves walls you are unsure exactly where they might be, but you get the sense that they are relatively close. (if you would like to determine what animals are making the noise you are hearing roll a nature check please.)
Nova, you notice a familiar smell drifting out of the cave. It brings you back to when you were little and alone in a forest. This is both comforting and confusing since you haven't noticed this smell since you left home.
A different smell will immediately distract her. Nova will dart passed Fion to pull up beside Cadence at the entrance of the cave almost with a sense of urgency.
Searching the three slain goblins takes a bit of time (30 minutes). You find little of use on the first goblin outside of the gear that it used to attack you and the others you now travel with. Reaching the second goblin you find a vial filled with a red liquid that seems to glimmer when you shake it. The last goblin however, has something that catches your eye more than the red vial. You discover a silver flask that when you shake it appears to be at least half full. Removing the cap and smelling the contents you smell the delectable aroma of alcohol. After searching the bodies, what will Fionn do next?
Hugs makes his way over to the mouth of the cave entrance and sits near Nova. Waiting to see what the group will do now.
Looking in the cave you are only able to see 5-10 ft. after the mouth of the cave without a light source or darkvision. If the group intends to enter together let me know, also feel free to discuss out of character plans in the group discussion thread. I'll treat any posts here as that character acting on their own unless there is group planning on the discussion thread. If you would rather plan in character feel free to do that also.
The potion is easily identified with a DC 5 Arcana check to be a health potion.
Rough positioning for everyone post battle and goblin searching. In my mind Nova and Cadence are in the same square on the right side of the river. With everyone kind of huddled together near the mouth of the cave. Feel free to correct me if your character would be elsewhere.
Gert stiffed a sigh - racing was the last thing he was prepared to do any time soon, but he was not about to tell it. "Drink up, Velds," instead said he, patting big girl on the shoulder, "smart people in armour need this some time."
He moved closer to the cave mouth and carefully stepped inside. Perception: 11 Stealth 13

Cadence stands in a smooth motion, with a bit of a twirl, when Gert passes her...and tip toes after him, stepping in time as if she's listening to some music no one else can hear.
Gert as you step into the cave you see a few uneven stone steps leading up to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where four wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Each wolf's chain leads to an iron rod into the base of a stalagmite. Although you do notice that one of the wolves is by itself near the back of this section of the cave and looks slightly different than the other three.
From your location in the passage they don't really pay you any attention other than pausing for a moment to sniff in your direction. They go back to 'playing' tug of war over a bone.

Yes, but the goblins wouldn't be in melee range and your post made it seem like you were waiting to make a melee attack.

Nova would wait attentively. In order to avoid sending herself in distress, the half elf would look to the returning Fion.
