Areus, loudly smacks the tip of his spear on his shield a couple of times in order to get the giant's attention, "I hoped for a more interesting fight Giant! Are you trying to kill us or to bore us to death?" The hoplite feints again a low spear thrust before jabbing again at the wounded leg.
Areus again jabs his spear into the giant as he offers his own vicious mockery. For the giant's part the grin has been removed from his face and he appears to be flagging.
Soren and Callaphe are up
Tisto (22/25), Areus (36/36), Soren (34/34), Callaphe (31/31), Osa (154) -Disadvantage next attack, Saya (32/32)
Soren crashes his blade into the giant yet again, the blade biting deep and blood and gore sprays from a deep wound. The giant's face, having already lost its malicious grin changes ot confusion and pain as he drops his club while trying to stay standing. A moment later he falls over with a heavy crash.
Phoebe approaches.
“You carry ancient artifacts with immense power. Once you assemble all, you are rewarded with great influence over the course of history. Use it wisely and sparingly. Otherwise, you might bring doom over us all.” Phoebe’s eyes become white, when she continues with a voice that shakes the temple: “The Plains of Phoberos are your destination if you seek another piece. A wise choice or timely betrayal will secure your victory.”
During Saya’s travels with her band, she never been to Phoberos, but she knows that’s bad news. “To Phoberos it is...”

Soren face gets even paler than his normal pallid complexion "Plains? Anything but plains. Couldn't they all have been in the water? At least it could have been somewhere cooler." He grumbles.
Nevertheless, he cleans his blade on the giants tunic and starts to head back to the boat. He walks about three feet before he stops. "Wait, did you say a betrayal? I don't like the sound of that."

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
As the giant falls down dead, Areus congratulates with Soren "A well placed hit my friend."
"I have never been stationed in one of the Arkonian outposts in plains, but from what I know, we will be facing bands of minotaurs and other ravaging monsters. Maybe a few cylops too even if those monsters usually roam in the northern region near my former outpost." says the Arkonian to the rest of the group.
"I too do not like the sound of that." adds Areus as Soren comments about the betrayal, "Anyway, let's go back to our ship, we have a long journey ahead of us."
After a moment Areus says "I doubt that we may find anything useful, but maybe we should search the giant."
Tisto joins in :"the gods have not done any favours - I know because I've got the scars - so why should we do any favours for anybody else? I say its us against the world and I"ll drink to that!" he says raising his wine skin "anybody else" as he offers the wine skin around.
"I agree with Callaphe" replies Areus to Tisto "We are still breathing after facing sea hags, undead creatures, animated statues and a giant. I call that a good sign that the Gods smile upon us."
"Ah that explains it! It was the radiance coming off their teeth as they smiled that damaged me"says Tisto "perhaps we should hope they smile a little less?"he finishes with.
Before returning to the ship, Areus asks Phoebe "The Plains of Phoberos are pretty big. Is the next fragment hidden in some temple or tomb? We will be very grateful if you could provide us with a few more details."
After Phoebe's reply, Areus will ask Argon to bring the group as close as possible to Phoberos.
Phoebe smiles at Areus. "Destiny will be your guide noble warrior. I have no fear that you will find the path but I can tell you no more than what is given to me to say."
You set sail from Arixmethes who soon after dips back under the surface of the sea. You are soon grateful for the navigational skill of Argon as you have no idea where you may be in relation to the continent. But that first night Argon checks the stars and his navigational charts and declares that Arixmethes had moved quite a distance while you were on your adventure to get the blue mask fragment. You are out in the Siren Sea but only a weeks worth of sailing to reach the Deyda Harbor. Argon lets you know that he can drop you off there.
From that location you can follow the Great River Road, a Road that runs along the Deyda out to sea. It takes under two days to walk between the sea and Akros along the road. There you can use the Titan's Stairs, natural access through the granite cliffs to the lowlands. Then you will have access to the Pharagax Bridge, a huge stone bridge that is the gateway to Akros and the only way west to the Phoberos, the badlands west of the Akroan realm. These badlands are occupied by marauding leonin, flesh-eating minotaurs, and firebreathing dragons The Akroans have several semipermanent encampments that dot the badlands between Akros and the wilds beyond. Areus informs you that fresh cadres of troops come there every month to relieve soldiers who are worn out by relentless assaults from raiders, fire-breathing dragons, and other threats.
The western edge of Akroan territory is a region of arid canyons and caverns called Phoberos, a land of harsh natural whims haunted by ravenous monsters. Fierce bands of wild minotaurs haunt these badlands, and for centuries these brutal marauders were the only minotaurs the human poleis ever knew—which contributed to the minotaurs’ reputation as bloodthirsty brutes.
But to the north of Phoberos, far from the walls of Akros, stands the sprawling, labyrinthine polis of Skophos. Skophos is mentioned in a few ancient odes, but only a handful of humans have ever beheld Skophos, and hardly any have successfully navigated its labyrinthine passageways and returned to tell of it.
The founding of Skophos and its troubled history with Akros are the stuff of myth, and it is difficult to distinguish the mortal history of the two poleis from tales of the twin gods, Iroas and Mogis. The gods warred with each other, their followers and champions vied for control of scarce land, and two ideals—the nobility of heroic struggle and victory versus the brutality of savage slaughter in war—competed for a place in the mortal mind. Just as Mogis is the dark shadow of everything Iroas stands for, so is Skophos the reflection of Akros. And Phoberos is the bloodstained battleground where the eternal conflict between the gods and their poleis is waged.
"I hope that we do not have to go to Skophos." Saya quips. "I am sorry my friends, I don't believe I have ever set foot west of Pharagax Bridge. However, I will try to help as best as I can." Says Saya more seriously.

Checking the body of the giant you find his great spiked club. Additionally he had 210 sp, 70 gp and 2 potions of healing.
Argon approaches and is ready to go. He is willing to take you by ship however you choose to get to The Plains of Phoberos.
Congratulations, level up to 5 and we can continue.
What if anything can Tisto recall having heard about the Plains of Phoberos (History/Geography check = 20)
