"Just a few trinkets, Callaphe, just a few trinkets to recover." replies Areus "Shall we go now? It has a been long day and I would like to get a full rest as soon as we are done."
Spyro drops 5 gold pieces into the outstretched hand of Callaphe. She then gives a quick nod and motions you to follow her. You settle in behind Callaphe as she moves up the street and around the corner. Hardly seen, anyone passing by would have likely missed it, she slips behind a small opening in a fence beside a rundown building. She then enters the building and down a flight of stairs.
"These lead to the old city." She informs you. "Follow me". Lighting torches you enter a combination of natural tunnels, caves, and cellars that run under the city. About 15 minutes in you see the flicker of torchlight up ahead from a room off to the side and hear hushed voices but you can't make out what they say. You are about 50 feet away.
"I am not good at sneaking up, but if you wish to try to approach stealthily, I will give it a try." whispers Areus to Tisto. (Stealth6)
"I guess that they are smugglers or thieves." Areus then whispers to Callaphe "Since you seem to know those tunnels pretty well, do you know if some of the tunnels lead to the old temple of Ephara? "
Callaphe looks to Areus, "I've never heard of one. But we haven't explored these tunnels fully so there very well could be." She leads the group foreward, trying to get a listen on what the men were saying.
Carefully moving forward the voices become more distinguished. Callaphe can hear at least 4 different voices and she nods to Areus as she agrees with his assessment.
It sounds like smugglers hiding items in the room, not exactly a surprising event as these tunnels are used to smuggle on a regular basis.
Looking around there are side passages and other rooms.
Areus gestures to Callaphe to walk back towards the group, as she is within hearshot, Areus will whisper "It may be better if we avoid drawing attention to us, if possible try to find us another way to reach our destination."
(As a group stealth roll most of you have passed without Tisto's roll so I'll continue without his roll)
Callaphe looks for a way around the smugglers and avoid a confrontation with them. She knows very well smugglers don't want others to see where they have stashed their goods. She leads the group quietly out of the area and away from the smugglers. She finds an alternate path through the twisted labyrinth of passageways and is soon back on track.
20 minutes later she stops again and lets you know that a way into the basement cellars of the Halls of Justice is just ahead. You come to the middle of a long passage way. To the left about 20 feet away is a narrow, cramped staircase that heads up, the ceiling is barely the height of a tall man. Callaphe lets you know that those stairs lead up to the Halls of Justice. To the right the passage continues into darkness beyond your torchlight...
