As Lucas, Sobek, and Vetis attack, your weapon and spell offensives appear to hurt the creature, whatever it is, but as the last strike hits, the creature - with an otherworldly shriek - dissipates back into the snow with a wet, violent explosion. You think you hear what sounds like laughter, then all is calm once more.
Kaz cracks their neck and chuckles, stepping up beside Percy, “ We’ve been through so much, this might as well happen.” The elf produces a ball of fire in their palm, ready to take some aggression out on this monster.

“I feel like this ain’t gonna be the last of that shit,” Kai sighs. “We always tend to get ourselves in a little trouble, don’t we?”

Shrek adds, hopefully, "Plan B? What Plan B? Shrek friends have job to deal with cannibals."
WOLF TRIBE CANNIBALS - IN PROGRESS After several furriers and trappers disappear without a trace, a representative of the Wolf Tribe named Aluka comes to Ten-Towns with a warning: a Wolf Tribe camp under the command of an evil chieftain named Sangra Grisgir is resorting to cannibalism to survive. The furriers and trappers are merely the camp’s latest victims, and more disappearances are likely to occur unless the cannibals are dealt with. Aluka can give anyone worthy directions to the camp, but she can’t risk an all-out war within her tribe, hence her decision to let Ten-Towns and you all to deal with the problem.
Lucas goes and picks up his arrows from where they dropped after the monster dissipated, speaking up, "I'm with Shrek on this. We need to put them down...that said, if we have any Plan B, my guess is that it involves either attacking at night, when they're mostly sleeping, Plan C, guerilla tactics, or Plan D which is heading back to the boat and figuring out what the heck is going on now that most traces of civilization are blown to bits."
“I feel like we need to find allies somewhere in this vast hellscape. It feels like we are trying to take on groups that have us vastly outnumbered.” Kaz turns to Lucas and Vetis, “are there any other settlements that we’ve not been to or that we might find allies in? I might be able to talk to my yeti family to see if we could parley with some yetis.”

"Well there's that one druid who came looking for Vetis. They mentioned some Jarl of Jarls....think they'd help?" Lucas wasn't there for the conversation and only had the second hand information, "But the Yeti's aren't a bad idea either. Do you think they'd want to help us fight cannibals later?"
Percival Hexes the creature while he waits for the others to roll initiative.

Sobek thumps the snow with his maul, at the point of departure, growling with frustration. ‘So, Plan B?’

"Let's try the Jarl of Jarls, then the Yetis, who I can't imagine would be pleased to have cannibals running about."
