"If you open the way, he will be the death of you! You have sealed your dooms!" the ice witch announces, on her last strings of life. "The Ice Queen will rule!!!" she screams.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lucas at first thought that the witch was warning them, and for a split second thought sparing her to hear more, but the final line she spoke erased such thoughts. He fired at her head.
The queen dies in a spectacular explosion of ice and thunder. The only sound left is the howling wind. It is time to once again head towards the glacier and cast the Rime spell to open the way to the lost city.
As you approach, an immense, glistening wall of blue ice stands before you. It seems impenetrable, but then you notice that a lighter-colored stripe nearly bisects the wall at one point. This must be the frozen waterfall Vellynne spoke of!
Professor Skant chimes in. "Ready the poem, Vellynne."
"Of course! How exciting!" she says. She takes out the book and reads the poem.
We bow to She who wears the crown; Let the world shiver with dread. Clad in winter’s whitest gown, Her snow enshrouds the dead.
Her fury sheds but frozen tears as gray clouds issue forth. Her wind across the wasteland shears, bringing blizzards from the north.
Ice-kissed flowers caught mid-bloom, beauty kept in all its grace. Summer’s gone to its silent tomb, stilling in Her cold embrace.
All the world in winter’s white, sheathed in sleet and ice. Set upon never-ending night, She conjures paradise.
Behold Her everlasting rime, see how it covers all; Weep not for those She traps in time behind Her glacial wall.
Sovereign of summers lost, general of winter’s war; Long live the queen of cold and frost. May She reign forevermore.
As the last words of the poem are spoken, a rumbling sound comes from deep within the glacier. The noise reaches a crescendo as the great wall of ice parts. Through the crack, you can see an opening that leads inside the glacier.
"Fascinating! When the floating city of Ythryn plummeted from the sky into the Reghed Glacier centuries ago, the impact of the collision - and the resulting heat - drove the city deeper into its heart until, finally, it came to rest. Auril then buried the city under the ice to preserve it, claiming it as her own."
H1 -Reading the poem created an opening in the ice wall that’s 100 feet high, 30 feet wide, and 20 feet deep. A tunnel at the back of this opening contains uneven, naturally formed steps that descend to area H2.
NOTE:
Ceilings. Most cavern ceilings are 30 feet high and made of smooth ice. Tunnel ceilings range from 10 to 15 feet high unless otherwise noted. Darkness. All areas are cast in complete darkness unless otherwise noted. Echoes. Sound travels quickly here. All Wisdom (Perception) checks to hear sounds in these caves have advantage.
Kai is startled at Vetis' sudden touch, but when he feels her cooling healing magic wash over him he relaxes. After doing it's work, the ice slowly melts and evaporates away off his skin. When the queen falls, he turns to the tiefling with a wide grin on his face. "Thanks, Vetis! Probably wouldn't have been able to take another hit if you hadn't healed me back there."He gives her a quick look over, then looks over the others as well. "We should definitely take a breather. Even if just for an hour or two..."
(If not, Kai will do a Prayer of Healing!)

Lucas, easily the least injured in the party thanks to keeping his distance in most of the fighting and melee, has his few wounds heal completely and gives a nod of thanks in return.
Once everyone is ready, he would suggest getting moving down the corridors to H2.
You come to a thirty-foot-high cavern. In its center, the remains of a wooden ship hull rest on the floor. Professor Skant perks up. “Ah, a Netherese skycoach! I’ve always wanted to ride on one of those. Pity it’s no longer in one piece." The ship is all that remains of a Netherese skycoach, an airship that was used to ferry people to and from the floating city of Ythryn.
Off in the distance, you can hear what sounds like, in your opinion, like a hyena laughing. It sniffs the air before speaking. You can't tell what direction it's coming from."Finally. So many years imprisoned. Perhaps, now, a way out? I can smell you. I can hear your hearts beating. Yes. Time to feed. Warm, fresh blood."

Lucas will ready an arrow and attempt to perceive where the echo starts as the voice comes out. Working backwards from where the word of what is spoken first bounces from.
Shrek, searching the wreckage, you find the headless skeletons of four dead Netherese wizards and a 200-pound iron safe with a combination lock that has numbers from 0 to 50 written in another script that is not Common. Nearby, you can hear the cackling of voices above you. No, it's not the same noise you all heard earlier. This is something new.
