When you all return to the docks towards the Icebreaker, Kalannai comes up to you again. "Thanks again for helping us with the mephit problem over in the east side. I really appreciate it. Myself and the villagers noticed that the chaos over there has definitely subsided somewhat, you guys certainly are brave for delivery employees." Then, a shadow passes over her face. "A number of the townsfolk think that Griggle is to blame for the chaos in town, and want to exile him into the wastes. Do you think he is responsible?"
Lucas holds his hands up behind his hood, stretching out his torso, "I don't think he's responsible for it either. And even if he was, wouldn't you want him nearby to clean up his own mess after?"
Kaz saunters over and places a hand on her shoulder, “I understand your concern for the safety of your town. However, while my friends and I are capable combatants and delivery people, we are not experts in the planes of existence and therefore would not be a reliable source of information for you on the root cause of the mephit problem. We hope this problem resolved itself without further trouble to your community but, we are but humble delivery people.” Kaz nods to her hoping she understands, then turns and swaggers up the gangplank back on the icebreaker, donning their captain’s hat that seems bigger? Yeah, that hat definitely grew since the last time they were aboard the ship.
On the way back to the ship, Shrek got sidetracked (lost? Nah!) a bit, and ended up walking through a small market area. He used that discovery as an opportunity to pick up some additional food stuffs for the next portion of the trip, and could be seen gleefully whistling a happy little tune as he marched onboard the ship, with a large burlap bag overflowing with delicious food for the cook.
Kalannai lowers her head in understanding, hoping that someone other than her, or the villagers, would have any evidence or strong opinion regarding his behavior. As you all make it back to the ship, you pack up and prepare for the next stop: theiceberg town of Aurilssbarg. You set sail, heading north, hoping to reach there tomorrow.
The next day, Griggle was expelled from the village on suspicion of extremely dangerous elemental experimentation.
Ava says as they leave, "No dark dwarf is good news." Once on the ship she goes up to Percival and says, "So me not wanting to help him was wrong even though he was the one summoning those mephits?"
Lucas is busy drawing his map on deck, but chips in while measuring out the distant horizon, "Percival's not wrong, but neither is Ava. We saved the town best we could, which wasn't our job either. Just cause doing the right thing isn't our job, doesn't mean we should do it." Lucas gave the pair a glance before looking back down to his map to carve out the horizon, "That said, Ava, I don't think it's nice to judge someone just off their race. I get that his people hurt yours, but that doesn't mean it was him personally, right?"
PROLOGUE ADVENTURE, CHAPTER THREE: AMBUSH AT AURILSSBARG
We return to our intrepid band of delivery people, deep in the cold of night, having set sail away from Fireshear during a two day journey. It's time for the second delivery! This week, you are delivering a bottle of Shadowdale brandy from the former Kraken Society assassin Rool to his former lover, another assassin, a white dragonborn named Glarth Druma, in an attempt to repair the bond they had years ago. How the hell do you know all this? Well, the Luskar Deliverers employee who made this pickup left a lengthy note about it with the box. Our chapter begins as the Icebreaker draws into Aurilssbarg harbor late at night. Here's the updated map of your travels.
As you approach the dock, it's very late at night and the dockmaster is fast asleep. There's no one outside to help you with your delivery! You must wait till morning. For you to wait outside would certainly invite a terrible night, as it is so very cold and freezing outside. Might as well just sleep it out until morning.
Percival looks at the note attached to the bottle. "That's a lot of personal information. Feel like it's a confidentiality violation, but that's a detail for later." He sighs heavily when the boat approaches the dock and there's no one present to receive them. "Captain." He says to Kaz. "We should call it a night and wait until tomorrow. We'd all freeze waiting out here. Or most of us would. I think that Kai might be able to keep himself warm in this weather, although I don't quite wish to find out."

"Y'all are more than welcome to cuddle up to me tonight,"Kai says with a smirk and a wink shot off in Percy's direction. "Got enough heat to take care of all you beautiful lovelies! I think."

Shrek harumphs, and with an exasperated sigh, adds "Shrek no like being late for delivery. Get in trouble! No like trouble." He'll then grab the package, and follow the rest of the crew back to the cabins for warmth, all while protecting the package.
Kaz puts their hand to their pointed chin in thought, “Well, I do believe we have 2 acceptable choices: We either cuddle all together for warmth in the galley, we could even stoke The oven with extra wood for heat. OR we could disembark onto land and see if we could find somebody to help us. It is quite strange for their not to be ANYONE watching the docks.”
Percival takes the bars of adamantine, then looks at Ava and mouths "Yes"
WHY DID YOU BOTHER THE DWARF?
We're here to complete a task, one that you say is part of your will for me. Her personal conflict with the Duergar is irrelevant.

She hesitates. "Well, I just..we think he's the cause of those mephits appearing - it's all those elemental experiments he's doing."

Ava happily curls back up and passes out. She spent most of the trip training with her ax or sleeping.
