Loading on up into the Icebreaker, Kazimir speaks up, “I have extensive experience in sailing vessels and would like to throw my hat in as the capitan, if that is alright with the rest of you.” Kazimir has inexplicably acquired the biggest fanciest hat (a la Barbossa from pirates of the carribbean) with a peacock plume.

Lucas' eyes flash with excitement as he watches the ship, running up her gangplank to run his hands along the railing as he childishly grins and looks around. Hearing Kazimir mention taking the role of captain, Lucas practically jumps over, and loudly states, "I can be the navigator! I'm good with maps and know how to get around!" He proudly smiles and pounds a fist into his chest, "We don't have to worry about getting lost with me around!"
“I, uh, I’ve never been on a ship before...” He would shamefully admit. “And I don’t know what the jobs of a ship are, so, I guess just... shove me wherever I’d fit, I guess?”

Shrek scratches his head as they approach the ship, never having been onboard one before. Even when tied to the dock, he appears to be a little wobbly on his feet when walking around deck, not having his sea legs yet. “Shrek be load mister...whatever that be!” he proudly exclaims, as everyone is claiming positions aboard.
He quickly adapts to life on board, though, as he’s a quick study (under the firm direction and gentle hand of the Captain and First Mate).
Captain Kazimir gives Shrek a long, itemized list of supplies that are required for their long trip north (foodstuffs, provisions, first aide supplies, and numerous other a sundry goods), along with a fair amount of coin to purchase it all. "Whale blubber? What's dat for, boss?" he kept talking to himself as he perused the dockside vendors for supplies.
"Load mister is hard job. Shrek working real good, though! Shrek like helping out."
A few hours later, he returns back to the ship, pulling (by hand) an enormous cart filled to the brim with supplies. He then proceeds to manhandle all the supplies onboard, by himself, impressing all the local wenches who stand and gawk at his ripped pecs.
The Icebreaker sets sail and makes it's way north up the Sword Coast from Luskan. The air grows colder and colder with each passing day, and bits of seaborne ice now regularly drift past the Icebreaker throughout the day. According to the manifest, your first destination is Fireshear, a large coastal mining town over 100 miles northwest of Luskan. The town has a population of about 15,000 people, around half of whom are dwarves, and most of the rest are human. These hardy folk often travel out into the snowy hills to mine for iron and other common ores, though occasionally a deposit of the rarest and hardest workable metal of them all—adamantine—is found near Fireshear.
This prologue chapter sees you all on your first delivery: the letter from the drow known as the Black Spider to an acquaintance in Fireshear. The letter is addressed to someone named Griggle Duskloch. Make landfall, find whoever’s in charge of the town, and ask where they can find the recipients of the packages they’re carrying. That's the Luskan Deliverer's way. It's going to take a few days to sail northward, so get to know each other better and role-play.
As the voyage starts on the way north, Shrek spends his busy body time stowing all the goods and equipment he purchased in the various nooks and crannies of the boat. A special delivery of a fine assortment of fresh meats and vegetables made their way to the galley, for the cook to make a special enroute meal for the crew on their first day aboard the ship.
Vetis seems to come more and more to life as the air gets colder, often seen by the rails or front of the ship with a smile. The tiefling closes her eyes and enjoys the chill, savoring every biting wind and promise of snow.
"Oh I can do the engineering. We dwarves all learn how to build and create things. This ship can't be too different," Ava says as she sets about studying the ship. She mostly lazily finds somewhere to lay down and rest out of the way.
“So... I guess I’ll, uh, be in the kitchen then?” Kai says, then shrugs. “Looks like my ma’s cooking lessons are gonna come in handy!”
Just before they set off, Kai slips Shrek a list of ingredients for him to procure while he was out gathering supplies. When they set off, Kai gets right to cooking dinner, thanking the goliath for all the food he brought aboard. He wasn’t entirely sure what a normal meal for a pirate would be, and he hoped lasagna among other side dishes would be it, and, of course, with a cup of ale or rum had the person wanted. He did his best to keep the meals different each passing day, being mindful of their food supply as well. During his down times, he would be out and about enjoying that cool brisk air that seemingly had no effect on him during the journey. No winter clothes would be worn by him, instead, he would don on a pair of flip flops, some shorts, and an opened button down flowered shirt that showed off his orange glowing tattoos.
“If anyone gets cold, feel free to get near me. I’m like a bonfire, baby!” He would say in general with a cheeky grin.

Lucas, when he has the chance to hand of steering the boat to do his navigational duties, stays on the quarterdeck and pulls out a roll of animal hide. Taking out a knife and some oils he begins carving/sketching onto it. Anyone that peered over into it, would see that the hide had a detailed outline of the area around Luskan. It was a map, one which Lucas was adding to as they travelled further North.
As he worked, Lucas hummed a small tune, occasionally looking up to check the horizon or the waters behind him for any possible islands or landmasses.

Vetis blinks slowly.
The doctor.
I know you meant that sarcastically, but it's not the worst idea.
You're not supposed to stave me off.
The cold isn't the only thing that kills people.
Vetis shrugs. "I can be surgeon," she offers softly.
