You do not recall seeing any siege weapons during your flight through the town.
For Yevele:
Aside from the dwarf, you spot another guardsman that seems to be a commanding officer, also giving orders. He looks to be in his late twenties or early thirties, balding slightly.
The dwarf halts his orders, his eyes slowly looking up from the unconscious kobold toward the party. He eyes you suspiciously for a long moment. He speaks to Rogram almost as abruptly as he stopped. "Ye're Mathon's boy, aye? Who in the Nine Hells are this lot ye bring?"
After pausing very briefly for a response, he shouts, "Bah! Get ye and this hostage to the governor afore the scales and fur cause more confusion than we need." He jerks his head toward the stairway behind him.
"We were escorting the wagon from Baldur's Gate," Rogram replies. "And today, we defend Greenest."
After being directed toward the stairs, Rogram continues, "Please, have you seen my father and uncle and aunt, Dorgol and Daniel?" If needed, he would add a short description of the pair.
After getting his answer, the half-dwarf marches toward the stairway with the kobold (Is that the spiraling stairwell you mentioned in #142?), looking for Governor Tarbaw Nighthill.
Yevele hesitates momentarily between going and talking to the other guardsman giving orders and heading up to meet the governor, finally deciding to follow Rogram up to meet the governor. Having grown up in a monastery built out of wood, with the closest villages also having houses built primarily out of wood, Yevele is in awe at the stonework used to construct this building, and runs her hands across the walls as she follows the half-dwarf up the stairs.
The governer?Smoke says in an asking manner when starting to walk towards the steps then stops abruptly. Perhaps it is the governor the dragon wants to torment! His eyes light up as he looks up into the sky. His starts speaking quicker getting more excited as speaks Oh yes its just like when Arauthator attacked..He stops looking at the others to explain himself Arauthator was one of the greatest white dragons.Smoke stretches his arms and tail explaining the size of the dragon while taking quick steps hopping after the group turning to a different person at every sentence. He sought revenge against Tulrun, the archmage that killed Arauthator's family. He shakes his head. Oh if only he knew he would make an enemy of a dragon so powerfull. Did you know Arauthator once slew the red dragon Rathalylaug. His eyes getting bigger as his face is clearly expression shock A red dragon, no easy feat... Oh i digress he says looking down trying to remember where he can pick up his tale again.
Right, Arauthator also sent attacks to Tulruns stronghold. Testing its strenghts and exposing weaknesses. A cunning one he was.
Assuming they will be near the top of the stairs now.
This must of been how Tulruns allies felt, dispair he says looking around Not knowing if they could defeat the attacks... and even if they did a powerfull dragon could still..He stops before speaking more words realising he's not setting the best of moods.
Tulrun did not quit, nor did he fall to the dragons forces he says with pride. And so shall we face these dangers together!he balds his fists and finishes with a smile on his face. So caught up in his tale hes oblivious to how the others receive the tale or if this is the right time for it.
Catching his breath again after his excitement lowers while still following the others but not focussed on where they are going.
"Only dwarf here's meself," the dwarf answers Rogram. "At least that I've seen. It don't mean they ain't here, though. We haven't exactly had time for a head count."
The spiraling stairs ascend for twenty feet to the halfway point, where a door on the outside of the circular parapet is open to a hallway with a couple more doorways. The stairs continue upward for at least another twenty feet.
Thrax is dazed as the group falls back to the relative safety of the Keep. They were now past the intensity of the initial battle, and he looked around him in horror, wondering aloud if this chaos could be a harbinger of the cataclysm he keeps seeing in his dreams. Seeing quickly that nobody was in the mood for his tales of impending doom, and that many were still distrustful of anything that even remotely resembled a dragon or a Kobold he, stopped speaking. He brooded quietly in the back, only briefly greeting their dwarves guide before following up the stairwell.

Is there anyone in sight in the hallway to ask if the governor is on this level? Have I ever been in the keep before? Would I know where the governor would be?

He brooded quietly in the back, only briefly greeting their dwarves guide before following up the stairwell.
Dern slings his crossbow over his back for now and takes a quick appraisal of the bolts he has left. That's when he notices Thrax brooding off in the corner by himself. The dwarf makes his way over to him and slaps a heavy hand on Thrax's shoulder...as best he can anyway. "Ya did well out there, lad! A fierce fighter I'm happy to have at my side. Job's not done yet I s'pose. " Dern cuts his little speech short as they come before the base of the stairs. He gives a sigh and rubs his leg again. "Agh...stairs. Why's it always stairs?" He nods to Thrax. "Let's get this over with...." And then follows up the stairwell.
OOC: There is nobody in sight. Rogram has been to the Keep before, but this is an area that is typically off limits, and he has never been inside the tower. This is where he would assume the governor, or at least the more official parts of the Keep, to be.
Thraxperks up a bit after hearing Dern's words. "Your words are kind... it is good to stand with strong allies against this calamity. I know not what role Gond has for me to play, but I am sure my place here. I hope with his help we can overcome this scourge." He proceeds up the stairs with Dern, a bit more at ease.

Seeing Rogram hesitate at the landing, Yevele will step past him and continue up the stairs, thinking to herself 'The governor probably has the highest office in the tower.' As she climbs up the stairs, the monk will keep an eye out for anyone who may be able to direct her to the governor's office.
Smoke stops and watches everyone pass with his arms to his side and palms up, shrugging a bit. Shocked to see absolutely nobody even so much as react to his words. Did you not hear.. his eyes dart back and forth to the others .. We should.. we should figure out why they are here.. he looks downward Im sure this is usefull information
He starts slowly walking after them We need to learn from history.. there must be a reason he mumbles. Doubting himself in this moment.
Perhaps these events are to much for them, he thinks Yes, my words are lost on them in these moments of dispair. It was up to Smoke to find out more. This must be why i am here.
His face slowly turning from doubt to determination. Yes speaking out loud again. His walking pace picking up to catch up to the others.
Thraxreplied coldly to the suggestion of getting information from their prisoner. "Dragons do not share their plans with Kobolds. I do not think we will get much from this one."He ponders the prisoners fate for a moment and then continues. "Though their teeth make fine arrowheads, so not a total loss." He states flatly.

You emerge from the stairway onto the parapet overlooking the small town of Greenest. From here, the situation can be seen in full; at least a hundred of the raiding force have formed a loose circle around the Keep, while many others still move throughout the town, some wielding torches. Dozens of buildings are smoking or aflame.
A handful of guards mans the parapet with bows and crossbows. An older human man of around sixty years paces around the circular balcony, gazing out below, a man Rogram recognizes as the governor of Greenest.
Rogram takes the lead once again, moving toward the human. "Governor Nighthill," the half-dwarf says once he is close enough to not need to yell. "My name is Rogram Hloradur. You might recognize the name of my father, Mathon, a blacksmith here in Greenest. I was escorting the wagon back from Baldur's Gate when we saw the dragon flying away. These are my fellow caravan guards," he says, nodding toward the others as best he can with his arms loaded. He then indicates the kobold. "Making our way to the keep, we helped Linan and her family to safety and had to battle a few groups of kobolds and humans. I knocked this one unconscious and brought it, hoping we might get some information out of it."

Rogram hauls the kobold toward the dwarf. "We have a hostage," he shouts over the din.
