Karib's words hang heavy in the silence. The prisoner eventually nods, "If I can trust you to release me, then I can promise you that. A Dragonclaw won't be missed when Cyanwrath's head is on the ground."
"We'll untie him after we finish the rest of our business here. But, let's talk our next steps outside." Yevele's says as she pulls the curtain aside with her long sword and waits for the rest of the group to follow.
Once out of ear shot of the captive (assuming everyone agrees with her approach), the monk says "Back to the room where we encountered Cyanwrath?"
OOC: No objections, so assuming Rogram and Smoke are okay with this plan.
Yevele's sword keeps the barbs of the curtain strips at bay and allow you to step over the dead kobolds and pass safely through to the stairs. You emerge atop to stairs into the large cavern that had once been littered with the bodies of slain stirges. You see as you step into the room that you are not alone.
Standing in a semi-circle on the other side of you are four humans (three with scimitars and one with a spear and shield) and four kobolds. In the center of their line is a human woman wearing chain mail. She carries a massive halberd, taller than her, and wears flowing purple robes over her armor. Her close-cropped hair leaves no room for error in the memory of Rogram, Smoke, and Yevele, who last saw her leading an army through Greenest while they stood atop the parapets of the town's keep.
"Congratulations. You have my attention," she says dryly. "If you have anything you'd like to say to me before I erase you from existence, now is your chance."
Coming into the room Smoke notices Mondath and whispers to himself The wearer of purple..
Seeing the sheer number of guards Mondath has here Smoke feels a bit uneasy. You must be.. Mondath.
He paces a bit at safe distance behind the others. We have dispatched many guards already and bested your champion Cyanwrath. He says looking around at the guards and kobolds The queen .. referring to Tiamat.. seems to have forsaken those in command which is why we are here. Only the pure and strong receive favor.
You all now have an option, you may follow us and have the chance to one day see the queen yourselves or share the fate of those she has forsaken.
He tries to atleast bring doubt to the minds of the kobolds and guards in hopes of changing the odds just a bit.
Mondath simply smiles when her name is mentioned, and sneers through Smoke's words.
"So it is true then. Langdedrosa has fallen," she says.
"You may have taken my guard by surprise, but your advantage is now gone; and when all is said and done, you will have failed. You have accomplished little more than thinning my ranks of weakness. You will lay dead as Tiamat returns to take her rightful place on this plane."
The kobolds shift impatiently while her guards look stoically between speakers, weapons still raised and ready.
Smoke stops pacing and looks to Mondath. Yes, thinning weakness is why we are here.
Looking at his own hands a moment he speaks in draconic, words laced with sorrow tone
[Draconic]Dragons are fickle in their choices. Only wanting the very best. Not accepting flaws or failure.
He then looks up again moving his eyes through the ranks of guards and kobolds once more, unsure if any but the kobolds understand him so keeping his eyes on them a bit more. His voice turning to a more stern tone.
[Draconic]Only true followers of the queen know her expectations are high. Your current.. leader.. seems to forget the failures at hand. Failing to breach the keep of Greenest for the greatest riches. Losing prisoners in a camp full of faithfull followers. Disgraceful.
Smoke pauzes a moment to look at his allies then says his final words before resting his hands on his hips near his daggers.
[Draconic] So decide your fate now. Follow your failing leader and spend your remaining days fleeing the queens wrath. Or redeem yourselves?
Mondath scoffs and begins to chant. Arcane energy tingles throughout the air, and her guards answer the apparent cue to charge. The kobolds raise their slings, nervously preparing to load them and looking wildly around.
OOC: Players have won the initiative! Actions will be resolved in the order they are posted. All combatants are within 30 feet.
Seeing Mondath begin to chant, like she is about to cast a spell, Yevele moves in rapidly towards her, swinging her long sword two-handed: Attack: 14 Damage: 9
The swing with her sword will be followed by a flurry of blows, using 1 ki point. The monk will kick the female: Attack: 19 Damage: 5 followed by an elbow to the head: Attack: 20 Damage: 5

Fearing the spell caster is likely doing something that may affect an area, Karib summons down the wrath of Gond upon her then backs away trying to get out of line of sight, and keep some distance from his companions.
Guiding Bolt Attack: 7 Damage: 19 (if it's a hit, next attack is at advantage)
Seeing his allies go for Mondath Smoke draws a dagger then speaks up again at Mondath Your words are in vain, as your failures will end your reign!
He then raises both his arms looking around the room
As you are so bold, let me grant you some more gold.
WIth those words a small shimmer starts to form around Mondath and those close to her glowing a golden tone starting to cover her.
Movement: None Bonus Action: Unsettling words on Mondath to substract 1d6 from the next saving throw Action: Cast Faerie Fire on Mondath and as many of the guards and kobolds as possible. DC 14 DEX save
OOC: The spear attack against Rogram does not take place. The second sling attack against Yevele is redirected to Karib. As usual, I'll narrate the above rolls and if there are any reactions or abilities that alter that, we'll edit and redact.
Mondath is hit hard and staggered by the whistling bolt that launches from Karib's hands, but she grits her teeth through the pain, ducking Yevele's sword and taking the impact of her kick and elbow. Her chanting complete, she throws her arms wide, and a sphere of shadow-like demons expands in an aura surrounding her, for fifteen feet on all sides. The demons ignore the cultists around her and swarm toward Yevele, throwing themselves into the monk and rapidly draining her energy.
The Wearer of Purple's companions launch themselves into the fray, each picking a different target. The man with a spear is cut down in a spray of blood as Rogram proves faster with his blade. Yevele feels the stinging impact of a slicing blade as she is flanked by one of the men, while Smoke and Karib each parry a scimitar of their own.
Mondath and two of her followers are surrounded by a glow that outlines them against the darkness of the cavern as Smoke completes a casting of his own. The kobolds launch a volley of stones into the cavern; one strikes a glancing blow against Karib while the other finds its mark against Yevele, causing her to stumble and fall. In an apparent panic, the two kobolds who missed their targets scramble, fleeing away from the combat entirely.

Health: Frulam Mondath is wounded.
Yevele is unconscious and dying (0 successes, 0 failures). Karib is lightly wounded.
Active Effects: Guiding bolt: Next attack against Frulam Mondath is made with advantage. Faerie fire: Attacks made against Frulam Mondath or the cultists engaged in combat with Yevele and Smoke are made with advantage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With the chaos of the engaging combat Smoke finds himself locked into combat with one of the cultists but takes a moment to look around after having seen Mondath use powerfull magic taking down Yevele.
Hoping this fight will go better than the last he raises an arm in the direction of Yevele Do not slumber when they still have greater number!
Moving back his hand to place it on his rapier he grips it firmly and as he pulls it out of its sheath attempts to slash the cultist near him in one go. Take Mondath!he shouts out to his allies as his blade moves through the air. Unsure of what these demons will do to us if they get the chance to linger.
Movement: None Bonus Action: Healing Word on Yevele to heal 5 hp Action: Rapier vs cultist next engaged with Smoke (adv from fearie fire) Attack: 14 Damage: 12
Concentration: Faerie Fire (Mondath + 2 cultists)

He follows Yevele out of the room and, after a quick glance at the prisoner, nods. "Let's finish this."
