Akira's warning comes in the nick of time, as the "eagles" flying above close in. Larger than a typical bird of prey, and sporting the antlers of an elk, this flock of mighty perytons has descended upon the caravan rapidly, diving toward the horses, guards, and travelers. Thanks to the vision of the dragonborn, the attention of the guards is called toward the dive attack, and the perytons are unable to catch the caravan by surprise.
Round 1 Order: Players <===== Perytons
Placement: Two perytons are attacking the party. Both perytons are in the air, 60 feet away from the party.
OOC: Combat is going to seem slightly weird while we're on the caravan, so bear with it; in this case, there are several perytons attacking the caravan, but the party is considered to be in combat with only two of them. The other guards on the caravan will simultaneously be in combat and dealing with other attacking perytons outside of initiative order. If there is a future situation where they are participating in initiative I will call that out (and XP will be split amongst them in that case as well).
The party has won initiative and can take the first round of actions! As a reminder, I group initiative for the sake of ease - anyone can post their turn in any order. Actions will be resolved in the order they are posted unless it is directly requested otherwise.

Rogram looks up and squints at what he is seeing. "What in ..." he begins. But as the nearest peryton continues to drop, the bard hunkers down. Calling upon his innate magic, Rogram yells, "You've picked the wrong caravan, you feathered demon!"
vicious mockery: WIS 13 or take 2 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the first attack of its next turn
Karib grips is wooden staff more firmly as it seems to darken and grow more vicious knobs and spikes, then his gaze turns to the creature that Rogram addressed as holy fire descends upon it.
The first peryton resists Rogram's magic as it descends angrily toward Karib, having been seared by the cleric's holy fire. Karib sidesteps the creature, avoiding its beak and slashing talons as it flies back out of reach. The second dives for its target; Akira's fire bolt glances off its wings and it collides heavily with the wizard, throwing her to the ground as it similarly ascends to the sky, preparing to dive again toward its prey. Tyjit and Orvustia scramble from the wagon to aid Akira.
Round 2 Order: Players <===== Perytons
Placement: One peryton is engaged in melee combat with Karib. One peryton is engaged in melee combat with Akira.
Akira wincing in pain, will move to partial cover of the edge of the wagon and lift her hands to cast Mirror Image and through the quiet incantation, she splits her image, now appearing to be in 4 separate positions.

@DM, I'm assuming Rogram is near Karib. If not, let me know.
Rogram frowns as he feels his magic miss its mark. The half-dwarf moves to stand beside his cleric friend and draws his new axe, holding it in both hands. "United front," he says needlessly.
Readied attack (reaction): If the peryton dives again and gets within melee range,
OOC: Unless I specify the distance it's safe to assume you're within movement range of another party member. Since we're off a grid I try not to be a stickler about that unless it's pertinent to the situation. Also I made a mistake in the peryton's distance/speed, and was running out of time to write, which is why my description and the Placement section are mismatched. You can consider the perytons to be about 15 feet away in the air.
Karib growls in annoyance as the creature flits quickly out of range. Calling upon the cleansing fire of Gond, a flash of light streaks toward the evasive avian.
Attack: 24; Damage 17 (next attack against it is with advantage)
As the first peryton turns in the air to careen back down toward Karib, the cleric drills it with a beam of light, seeming to draw Rogram's axe to the nape of its neck when it draws near. A flash of metal beheads the creature and it tumbles to the earth to rest.
Orvustia and Tyjit jab their spears at the other peryton nearby; the seasoned dwarf pierces its wing, but Orvustia misses the target while Akira rapidy brings mirror images of herself into existence nearby. Just in time, the peryton dives through one, mistaking it for the real dragonborn; confused only for a moment, it turns and rakes its talons across the real Akira, drawing blood from a deep, fresh wound.
Round 3 Order: Players <===== Peryton

Rogram can't help but smile as his new axe handily dispatches its target. He turns to grin at Karib. "Nice work, there. Your magic —" He stops as he notices Karib's stare further along the caravan. The half-dwarf turns just in time to see the other peryton rip a new one in Akira. "Ouch!" he responds. "Come on!" He begins hustling toward the next creature. After moving 30 feet, Rogram drops his axe and draws his crossbow, aims, and fires.
Attack: 13 Damage: 5
If further than 80 feet, here is the disadvantage roll: 10
OOC: The peryton is engaged in melee combat with Akira, so it is 5 feet away from her. There's no distance specified between Karib and Akira, so you can assume that Karib can reach the peryton with his movement speed.

Akira holds her hand up and says, “Come no closer” then raises her orb toward the peryton and whispers a lullaby into the wind, casting [spell] Sleep [/sleep] for 20 HP aiming just beyond the creature so that she would not get caught in the magic.

If the peryton is in melee range, then Rogram would have used his axe. Using the same rolls of 6 for attack and 8 for damage, that would make them 11 for attack (with the axe) and 11 for damage.
The peryton wavers in mid-air, nearly brought to slumber by Akira's magic but the ferocious beast swipes sluggishly at Karib as the cleric bats it across the wing with his staff. The peryton screeches as Orvustia further wounds it with her spear, then soars upward with a large flap of the wings, spraying dust up as it streaks 30 feet up in the air, out of range of the painful weapons.
