Smoke nods responding to Rogram. yes Invisible, i didnt know you could do that.
I will try to see who is making these noises up ahead, perhaps we can try to avoid another battle. he says like looking at Karib We are all weary
If Rogram casts invisibility on Smoke and with aid of Karib's gods Smoke will try and sneak forward slowly to see if he can spot anyone. He will instinctively bend through his knees to make himself a bit smaller even though he is invisible.
Moving forward he will be wary of anyone that might spot him. If he feels he got spotted he will hurry back to the others.
Unsure if he can ready a dash but he will try to sprint back if he feels he has been spotted. Staying prepared to return to the group as quickly as he can.
Smoke nods responding to Rogram, "Yes, Invisible. I didn't know you could do that."
Rogram's face goes blank for a moment as something flashes behind his eyes. It lasts for only a moment before Rogram blinks and is back and smiling at Smoke. The half-dwarf begins walking toward the Tabaxi, but is soon stopped by the others has his scale mail clanks and jingles. Smoke approaches him, and Rogram — as quietly as possible — incants the spell while laying a hand on Smoke's shoulder. At the conclusion of the spell, the furred bard disappears from view.
As you step through the hallway and into the chamber beyond it, a guard barracks comes into view. Seven men and women are either asleep or in the midst of relaxing as you enter, seemingly oblivious to your presence. A pair of men sleep in their chain shirts next to spears and shields, while the others wear leather armor with scimitars resting in scabbards decorated with dragon motifs.
The muttered conversation you have been hearing seems to have been coming from a man and woman sitting with their backs against the wall of one corner of the room, engaged in idle conversation as they sharpen their scimitars.
Another tunnel exits this room along the right side of the wall.
Seeing the chamber up close Smoke is carefull to control his breathing and his movement to not make any sounds that would get noticed. Once he is done glancing around he will slowly back up again retracing his steps to move back to the group.
Once he has returned he lets out a whisper to make sure they know he has come back as he is still invisible. Im here... im back..
It seems to be a guardroom. I saw two with chain shirts, near spears and shields and... he starts counting on his fingers but realises he cant see his own fingers either and continues counting them in his mind Uhm 5.. 5 others with leather armor.
After that Smoke is silent a moment trying to recall what else he saw of note.
Some are asleep, others resting. They dont know we are here it seems. And the room has another tunnel exiting it as well, i didnt not risk moving there to see where it leads. What do you think we should do?
Karib sighs deeply then nods slowly, "Sleeping folk don't easily resist being lit up," he says. "I could do that. But we're all half dead already, and I've not got much healing left."
He bows his head for a moment in contemplation then looks up, "I'd given myself up for dead before you saved me, so if you all want to, who am I to disagree?"
"We're going to have to fight our way out, regardless of which way we go. The only question is when, and what can we do to turn the odds in our favor. We might not get a better opportunity than this. Is there anyway of silencing your armor so we can sneak up on them? Or perhaps have Smoke and I go first to catch them off guard?" Yevele questions, with one hand on the hilt of her sword.
"Agreed," Karib says, then shakes his head slowly. "Best way to silence it is not to move. Let me know where they are, or tell me a good spot to target. Area's about 20 foot a side."
((@Dm: are they all in bunks such that one casting of [spell[faerie fire[/spell] could hit them all? ))
OOC: They wouldn't all be able to fit in a single 20-foot cube, they're more spread throughout the room than that (which Smoke would be able to relay to Karib based on what he's seen). Karib would likely be able to catch four enemies in that area of effect.
Karib smiles wearily, "I admire your enthusiasm lad, but like as not they'd fill you with arrows."
"I can do what I can to make them easy targets, or we can all rush in trying to kill those who sleep before they know what's hit them. Sometimes a simple solution is best."
She shrugs, looking at the faces of his companions, waiting for a response.
Hearing the others Smoke is eager to get out of this cave and presses the matter Alright, i will go in first. I will mention when i move in.
Then a few moments later you come in after me. It should give me enough time to attack and hopefully they are surprised enough to give you time as well.
He thinks a moment to see if he needs to summarize So i go in and you rush and take them out afterwards.
Smoke prepares himself taking a deep breath and takes a rapier in one hand and a dagger in another as he starts moving Im going in, follow me soon.
Moving back into the area as quietly as possible trying to get into position near one of the guards that are awake.
Rogram scowls. He doesn't like the idea of Smoke going in alone, but he tries to be patient. He draws his sword and spins his wrist, causing the blade to cut a circle through the air at his side. He's not sure how they'll know to go, but he bends his knees slightly and prepares to pounce.
Smoke creeps ahead of the party into the following chamber, entirely unseen. Seeing a few of the enemies still asleep on their bedrolls, he edges closer to a cultist leaning against the wall nearby, who is lifting his scimitar a few inches out of its draconic-decorated scabbard and adjusting it on his hip. His head shoots upward as he hears the quiet, but present footsteps of Smoke, his claws tapping against the stone. "Something's wrong; I think there's something in here," he shouts. The other alert guards in the chamber eye the man curiously, but when he moves to fully draw his scimitar, they rush to their feet.

Round 1 Order: Players <===== Enemies
Placement: Two guards (more heavily armored) and one cultist are asleep at the far end of the chamber. Smoke is within movement range of all enemies. Yevele is 20 feet behind Smoke, within movement range of two cultists. Karib and Rogram are 15 feet further behind Smoke, out of movement range of any enemies.
Health: Rogram is wounded. Yevele is wounded. Karib is lightly wounded. Smoke is lightly wounded.
Hearing the cultist shout, Yevele will quickly move down the hall and attack the first cultist she sees with a two-handed swing of her long sword (to hit: 16, damage: 10).
The monk will use a ki monk for a flurry of blows and kick the cultist twice: Attack 1: (to hit: 17, damage: 5); Attack 2: (to hit: 11, damage: 7).

"Was it a way out, or deeper in? Did you catch anything they said? We may have to get past them no matter what."
Karib looks tired, but eager to finally leave the caverns. The thought of more fighting does not appeal.
OOC: Ready to advance once an action is confirmed. For the time being, nothing is disturbing you.

"What do you suppose they are guarding?" Rogram asks.
Smoke looks around a moment at where they entered the room. By the looks of how we entered, they are likely Mondaths guards.
Smoke paces a bit in the room as they decide their actions as the others will only hear his voice come from another location as he moves.
Should we try to take them while they sleep? They will likely notice Mondath gone soon.
Karib sighs deeply then nods slowly, "Sleeping folk don't easily resist being lit up," he says. "I could do that. But we're all half dead already, and I've not got much healing left."

"I'll Follow about 20 feet behind Smoke. The two of you can follow about 15 feet behind me." Yevele says, as she draws her long sword.
Karib nods, hoping Smoke and Yevele can rapidly and quietly dispose of some of the sleepers, at least. Then he follows as instructed.
